This movie, gave me claustrophobia. Marcia Gay Harden in her worst role. Hope the series fares better. I read that Stephen King re-made "It" and filmed it around Toronto and Hamilton, On.

^^^I have read that the shows are better when directed and produced by someone else, and that Stephen King should stick to writing. I agree. The Dead Zone is a classic, directed by D.Cronenburg.

i think that writers sometimes get "too close" to certain characters AFTER they wrote them, and they want to recreate them on screen... i could see that from my brother who writes.

One of the things that puts me off, is when Stephen King shows up in a cameo in some of his movies--like Hitchcock or M.Night Shamalayan. Right there and then, the whole 'disbelief thing" is gone.
I think it was "Rose Red" where he came to the door with a take-out order.

i get that. i didn't mind him being actual characters who were part of the storyline in the creepshow movies, but i really hate that cameo carp! a few of my favorite bad movie directors from the 50's& 60's did cameos, but only because the extras didn't show up, or they couldn't afford one, lol, like del tenney.

as much as i hate to say it, considering...it was FABULOUS! the story is quite a bit different than the novella, but then, so is " the shining". AND it has my beloved frances conroy from american horror story!
i did NOT expect get hooked at all, much less immediately, but i am. let me now what you think when you get to watch it please!

it may be a one season thing.. but they could do it like code zero on syfy and use different short stories per season.that would be AWESOME!

I drove past the grocery store in Bridgeton, Maine that was the inspiration for the setting of the original story this past weekend...pointed it out to my boys as we passed it.
