    what happens if you accidently click report post on your own post do you get in trouble?

    If you accidentally click onto "report post", just don't fill out the form and don't submit it. That way, nothing will be accidentally reported.

    Accidents do happen, and posters sometimes report posts that don't actually violate the rules. Just because a post is reported, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be removed. The moderators check the reports, read the post, and then determine whether it is in violation of the rules or not.

    All reports are completely confidential, and no one gets into trouble for reporting a post that they sincerely believe might be problematic. If a poster begins to abuse the reporting system, though, by reporting legitimate posts for retaliatory purposes or just because they don't like that particular posters, etc., etc., then that's going to become a problem...
