I just got on this morning but it appears there haven't been any new threads for most of this morning. Anybody else having issues? My internet is with Verizon and with the strike, I wondered if that might be the problem but it appears fairly widespread.

CLOUDFARE Security Message
Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.
This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.
Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.
The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

It must be something technical going on with the boards site because this happened twice in the last couple weeks. I do have issues with the FIOS tv, internet, and phone more and more often. At least When I have needed tech help, their tech people are all in the U.S.. That is one of the big issues though with the contract talks because like most of these big corporations, they want to send these call centers off shore and there go American jobs. I used to work for the third largest insurance broker in the world with 20,000 employees in heaven knows how many countries. The computer operations and a lot of the accounting was handled by three offices in downtown Mumbai. India. It was difficult to communicate and the time difference was 10 hours. That's the way of the world.Last edited by Immkokay; April 15, 2016, 12:39 PM.

It's only affecting Verizon in the northeast and mid Atlantic. I'm in Richmond VA which is about as far south as the strike goes. Their contract expired last August so the two unions involved have been working without a contract trying to come to terms over healthcare, pension funds and trying to block Verizon from sending their tech centers overseas. This does not affect their wireless business which is much larger and more profitable than the tv, landline phones and internet. Supposedly they've trained non union personnel but a long term strike is going to probably affect service.
