CLOUDFARE Security Message
Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.
This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.
Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.
The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

Go into your profile page by clicking onto your username. On the left side of your profile, you'll see "find latest posts, "find latest started threads", and "view blog entries". Click onto "view blog entries". This will take you to a new page where you'll see an option at the top right corner, "+create new post". Click onto "+create new post", and you'll be able to blog. Your blog count will appear under your regular post count, in every post you make, so anyone who is interested in reading your blog can go immediately to it.
Hope this helps...Moore ideas

I sure tried, Moore! Tried with four different browsers. There is no "+create new post" to be found, whether or not I'm logged in.
However, when I'm NOT logged in I do see a "create blog" link at top right of profile. But when I click it, it goes to a registration page, and since I'm already registered it does me no good to enter my user id and pw.
So...is this a bug or a feature?

In the Blog FAQ it says:
If you are allowed to post blog entries, you will always have a link at the top of the blog sidebar titled "Add new Post". This link allows you to post entries immediately, entries that will post automatically at a future date, or create a draft entry for later review and posting.
Well, maybe the "if" is the problem. But I find no info as to how to get allowed.

Key, let me check with one of the administrators on this. I have always assumed that use of the blog feature was immediate, but it's possible that you need to be a member for a certain amount of time, before you can begin blogging. This is true for using the poll feature; a poster needs to be a member for a little while and accrue a certain number of posts before they can create a poll. I apologize for not being able to clear this up for you, but I'll check and then update here again.Moore ideas

Follow-up:
We're a little bit baffled over why you can't see the tab for creating a blog, because I'm told that you ought to have the ability to post a blog (no restrictions). The tab, a blue oval, is on the right side of the screen, next to where you would post your blog -- but I believe you when you say you can't see it! LOL. Please try this: Log completely out of the site and wait at least five minutes to let everything reset and the cookies to clear, then log back on again and see if the tab is visible. If it still isn't showing up, then let us know and an administrator will log in as you, and look at what you're seeing.
I'm sure that we'll get this figured out for you, but let's hope that logging out and back in again will work!Moore ideas

Please do ask the admins to have a look. I tried 4 browsers, updated them, washed the cookies away, disabled some of my av, zoomed in and out to rearrange the ads when they appeared, updated flash, and tried another computer too. Hopeless! There is simply no tab or link for creating a blog entry. Only when I'm not logged in do I see a "create blog" tab and that links to registration.
Can you post the link to which the tab would take me?Last edited by Key; October 24, 2015, 09:31 AM.

Updating here, if anyone else is having a similar problem...
I really have tried everything within my realm of technical competence, which admittedly is a very minor principality
There is supposed to be an action button in the field Moore indicates. It is not there.
I'm using Windows 8. By right click and selecting "source" (and later, right click selecting "inspect element") I can view the coding and make some sense of the page as intended by the gods. The coding for the action container where the "+create..." button should be, is empty. The field is coded but there's no subset (sorry that's as well as I know how to put it).
Unless I'm totally wrong about that field and its coding, this is where the problem lies and it can't possibly be just my computer and its settings. I've tried to see the button in 4 browsers with all sorts of modulations of av, javascript, page styles, etc.
Many thanks to you Moore for your intervention, but I think we need to invoke the tech angels.
