What's the point? I get to read them but can't post my reply(ies). I can see if the thread was about a direct question(s) asked but not a typical discussion one. Why not jst erase them once they're closed or at least not send or auto dismiss the notifications for them.

CLOUDFARE Security Message
Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.
This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.
Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.
The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

Even if a thread has been closed .. I'd still like to receive Message letting me know someone replied to my post.
Before we had this new Message system .. I would return to the closed threads I'd posted in .. to see if my post(s) had been replied to after I'd logged off.

Why if you can't reply to the reply? Most closed threads just disappear. I find it strange that certain ones remain because most don't. I can understand the ones which answer direct questions but not just regular discussion ones filled with opinions.

Closed threads do not disappear, only deleted threads do. Threads are closed for numerous reasons, such as the following:
1. When a simple question has been asked and answered, such as "what was the name of the actor who played........?"
2. The daily Live Thread is closed after the show is over.
3. Threads that have spun out of control towards the end, but that had a viable discussion earlier in the thread are preserved by being closed rather than deleted.
4. Threads that have become too large, such as those over 200 posts.

I've noticed everything staying around as a closed thread except for number 3. I've only seen number 3 staying a few times. An out of control one usually just disappears, seems too anyway, perhaps that is why they become deleted ones. Maybe it's just that they usually disappear before I make it back to this site.

So .. that's where I write my Visitor Messages & that's where I received a thank-you "Visitor Message" from the poster.
