I am into the third episode and am hooked. Something about this show gets under the skin.
A family that on the surface, looks happy and together, and is really divided with secrets and not really knowing one another.
Great actors all. Annette Bening and Sam Neil are a couple of tennis instructors who retire from running an academy and nothing
is the same from then on.
Based near a marina in Miami. The mother is still missing and the Blame game starts.
The best of the New trend in Domestic mysteries.

I am getting impatient to find out what happened to Mama.
So far at least the cops have gotten
the grifter Savanah's mug shots from
several previous arrests. She's a Pro.
I want to know why there was blood on the bicycle Mama rode to the market
and why it was lying in the road.
They have focused on the messed up private lives of each of the four
grown up children. I really only like
          Logan of the four.

Everything will be explained in the last episode. I actually skipped two episodes because I was getting impatient!

I read that there are seven episodes
and that the TV series does not have the same ending as the book.
I want to find out if " Savanah" stole
that 10 thousand dollars from Joy.
I also want to know if Joy comes home when she finds out about the real
              Savanah.

There are two more episodes, Ep 5 " Troy" and Ep 6 " Stan". The TV series does not follow the book ending exactly.

I haven't read the book; is it better?

I did not read it. I read a review of the movie compared to the book.
Domestic mysteries are all the rage right now since " White Lotus".

The last episode is Stan. At the end of the Troy episode, we see Logan watching video security of a man dragging a heavy bag
onto their schooner boat, and it is obvious he thinks it is his father. We can't see the face clearly.
Troy has already thrown his father under the bus to police. As Stan did with Troy about paying off grifter Savanah.
Stan is having a cardiac arrest at the end of the last episode.

I thought this was the last episode but
                    next week is the finale.
I will be glad to be done with this dysfunctional family.
Stan had a panic attack, not a cardiac
arrest. The blame game goes on with
all the kids, and Stan is arrested for
                    murdering his wife.
Except Joy has set up house with
                    Savanah. A cottage somewhere.
I keep trying to decide who I like in the
group. They all seem like a bunch of whiners.

Yeah, some of the episodes were pretty boring. I skipped ahead a few and went right to the last episode which explains it all. I watched it on Peacock, do you have to wait each week to watch?

Yes. Once a week with cliffhangers. The part I disliked was the Then and the Now. It was confusing.
That is why I stopped watching This is Us.
It seems like either Mom or Dad to be responsible for each kid's life messes. They forget that Joy called each one of them
when she took off, and they did not pick up or respond.
Then she dropped her phone in the laundry basket which was found by the Housekeeper.
This ending better be worth me sticking to it!

                          Too many missing plot holes.
Did Savanah/ Lindsay plan to kill both her and Joy in the car crash? Where did she go?
Why did Logan not show Stan the video with him stashing the Trophies bag on the boat?
Why did Logan automatically think his father killed his mother? He had no motive.
What happened to Brooke's fiance' ?
The bloody tennis jacket was a wrap around Joy's bloody knee and the dog pulled it off the garbage into
nosy neighbour's yard. No mention of the male and female police who were wrapped up in the investigation.
Will dumb Logan still go to Seattle?
                          I will not go on.
Dysfunctional family can go on being dysfunctional!
No cleanup of hurricane mess until Joy shows up! Mom does everything!

Well, I'm glad you saw the finale. I actually watched it in one day two months ago so I really don't remember all the episodes or plot holes. And yes, Mom does everything, I agree!

All the finale did was revert everything back to status quo.
One thing I truly wanted, was to see the reaction of that bitchy
nosy neighbour, when Joy came back home.
