  • Why is Sally always in Adam’s face when Nick is out of town?

Sally knows how insecure Nick is when it comes to Adam yet when he’s out of town she makes sure she’s in Adam’s face. The writing is so obvious that Sally is not relevant in this town, the only people she interacts with is Adam and Nick, they are her sole story source.

Because unfortunately, Sally still has strong feelings of the romantic kind for Adam. So, this wretched triangle will continue.

My intense hope (and prayer) is that soon this wretched triangle will STOP. There is virtually no need to keep Nick and Sally together for the rest of the year. Though I have a feeling the writers will do it. Like fall spoilers said, "Sally will become impatient with Sharon and Nick working together." For the rest of the year? Into next year? WHY? They could stop this nonsense very, very soon. I hope they will, but I won't be surprised if they don't.

      😥😥😥😥😥

Isn't this the million dollar question. Also, I notice that when Sally and Adam are together when Nick is in town and he comes across them, she always has to come up with some kind of excuse. I came to his room to let him know....... We are standing together because....... I invited Adam to my table to discuss........ How insecure is Nick? I just wish all 3 would go their separate ways and DON'T LOOK BACK.

It’s so ridiculous that I wouldn’t be surprised if Nick is written to catch an Uber from the airport straight to Adam’s where Sally will just so happen to be.

Fanlady, I too was expecting Nick to show up. Either as Sally and Adam were going up the steps or to come around the corner and see them kissing. Guessing all the characters are staying on the second floor as no one is ever seen getting in an elevator. 😀

I wouldn't say she was in Adam's face today. She was ordering food since she lives at the GCAC. Why was Adam there drinking when he has a home?

Because Adam and Nick are the source for her story, they could have just written her ordering dinner but they had to write Adam being there, just like if Adam was at Society she would have shown up there claiming she wanted something else different than the GCAC food.

Yeah, people never go to Society, GCAC dining room or the GCAC jazz club or CL and not have a rival, love interest or whomever show up while they're there.

Why does Sally always find her way back to Adam when Nick is out of town," unavailable," or otherwise occupied? ONE SIMPLE REASON. SALLY STILL LOVES ADAM. And he still loves her. This is just the way it is. FACT.

Yes, this couple has their detractors. But they also have fans. Lots of us. I believe there are more fans of this pairing, as opposed to those who don't want them together. But even if the show does not put them back together, they are STILL Soul Mates. Perfection together. Look how Sally lit up today with Adam. She was happy. And look how happy Adam was with her. They belong together. As I often say, they are alike. They are two people who feel like outsiders, in a way. Similar family situations. Tough childhoods. They understand each other. If TPTB are smart, they will put them back together, and do what they originally planned to do with them, and what spoilers so often said was coming-----"Sally and Adam will emerge as a TRUE POWER COUPLE in Genoa City." That did not happen. But it would have been fantastic. It still needs to happen. And it CAN happen.

I was.a huge fan of this couple and still see the amazing chemistry they have, Sally never looks this happy with Nick. The writers did a huge disservice to Sally by making her just so nasty to Adam every time she was in his presence that I felt this woman couldn’t possibly love him, if she ever did, and treat him so horribly. What he did to her was not nice but cmon folks it’s not like he cheated on her AND she knew why he did it. The writing for them has been atrocious especially when she was carrying his baby and sleeping with his brother that I can’t understand WHY he would want her back. I don’t even know why Nick would want her when she slept with his brother why they were dating. Again, just horrible writing. I do agree though that they would have made a great power couple and offer more than the same old crappy story.

@ perky7kc - that's where I think the writers went way wrong - making Sally so mean and nasty to Adam. Let's say they "had" to break MG and CH up because they started dating in real life, sure go ahead. But did they have to make Sally so nasty to him and have her basically kowtow to Nick and his "I MUST PROTECT YOU FROM THE BIG BAD ADAM!!!". Please. So much overkill ruined all three of them for me.

No need to blame this on Nick. Sally has “kowtowed” to no one. She has had ample opportunities to go back to Adam if she wanted, she didn’t.

The Newman Brothers are the only ones giving in to Sally.

  • #6
Because she has been hiding her feelings and
keeping Nick as a protector of sorts. The girl
is either so mixed up or using both brothers as
boy toys for her own amusement. Adam and
Nick are both fools. I do think Nick just fell
for Sally cause he didn’t want Adam to have her.
It’s his MO!! Adam can’t ever be happy according
    to the Newman family.

You NAILED it. This is the entire gist of it. With Nick, and with Sally. It was obvious from the beginning. Thanks.

Like Cotagesoap25 stated in the above comment, Because Sally is still in love with Adam! Sally knows how Adam feels about her which is why I don't understand why she would even spend time with Adam like she does....I feel that it gives Adam a false sense of hope that may be there is still a chance for him with her and may be there is....

It's plot. And the plot is that Sally's anger to Adam has subsided and she still has unresolved feelings for him. The sad part is that Adam is once again lying to her...the cycle continues. She has to be honest with Nick about it though.

Adam's apology tour is not genuine, based what I've seen so far. He's telling her that it is genuine. That's a lie.

She even knows he is lying to her.. she called him on it but she will ignore that and then kiss him.. Sally is so disgusting I just cannot stand this character.. she is worse than those ugly black nails on a chalkboard. He is plotting against his family yet again but lying and saying he isn't lying.. he is... same old with pathetic adam

He could lie to her 24/7 about his personal business. He doesn't owe her any truths. The only truth he has told her she can't handle. She needs to stop asking questions and stay out of his "bidness" as they say in the Great State of Texas.

    • #9
Because she needs attention from any Newman male and Adam the simp is always happy to give it to her.

Sally is only for Sally and getting the attention she craves from powerful men.

Sadly, in some respects, this is true. I hate looking at Sally this way. Getting involved with Nick is what so totally ruined the character. This particular viewpoint is not brought up that often, but in the darkest sense, it could be said that this IS what Sally is doing. It is nothing to admire. Sally should have already ended her relationship with Nick, regardless of what she does afterwards. The writers really know how to destroy a character. It is so exasperating. Thanks for your comment.

    • #10
Sally will probably reveal to Nick what happened and tell him "the truth" about her evening with Adam, and admit they kissed each other. And you know what "Noble Nicholas" will probably say? He will say "I am sure Adam TRICKED YOU into having dinner with him, and of course he TRICKED YOU into kissing him." Oh, and it was also the fault of the champagne.

Yes, it was all Adam's fault. Poor innocent Sally is Adam's trusting victim, and horrible bad Adam must be forced to stay away from Sally. Permanently. Nick might even clench his fists, erupt in manly fury, and go after Adam and "warn him" to stay away from Sally. With brute force, if necessary. Yet, it was Sally who approached Adam at the bar. She was behind Adam. When she saw him sitting at the bar, she could have quietly gone back up upstairs. Adam would never have known she was there. Instead, we saw the look on her face. A happy look, as she approached him, greeted him with sincere willingness, and joined him. She said she was there to order dinner and have it delivered to her room. She could have easily done that at the bar upstairs. Or even called GCAC Room Service. She did not need to go down to Neil's Club to do what she did.

Sally still loves Adam, like Adam still loves Sally. But Nick will insist it is ALL Adam's fault. Evil Adam, The Liar. And we will have just another agonizing day in the Time Warp Triangle with all 3 of these fools trapped inside of it.

Of course, there is always the possibility that Sally won't tell Nick what happened. If she doesn't, this will actually IMO be a sign of growth for her, and sane movement in this excruciating story. But I am probably being naive about that. But I can dream.

Pretty sure she'll sit close to him on the couch, hold his hand, look down and then up, purse her lips, sigh and say, Nick there's something that I need to tell you - and then the scene Cotagesoap25 outlined so beautifully will play out. Sally can't help herself. The woman is in the princess if not the queen of secrets. She could keep that one to herself but I doubt it. If she doesn't blab I'll be amazed.

Adam shouldn't come within 50 yards of that woman.

    • #11
Sally wants to come across as a strong woman but she is as needy for attention and protection as they come. She has beat up on Adam for months now, knowing his feelings for her, and reminded him over and over she is "with Nick". Now, insecure Sally has her best beau working out of town and working with Sharon, and she needs to hedge her bets. I always like Adam and Sally but she has got to prove herself as over Nick before falling back into Adam's arms using him as a default.

I agree with your comment. It is true. Sally is lying to herself in so many ways. A strong woman would not do that. A strong woman can face reality, be true to herself, listen to her feelings, and know when she has made a mistake. That is what a strong woman does. Sally is not strong, especially with Nick. She is allowing herself to be held back, even by her own actions, and her own denial of all of it. Really sad to see. Putting Sally with Nick ruined her.

    • #12
I have never seen any Chemistry between Adam and Sally. Very little with Nick and Sally.

Yes, Sally craves attention but to me the writers really do not know what to do with Sally other than the Newman brothers. To the detriment of all three characters.

The Sally character has never been properly written on Y&R. They took away all the fun soapy goodness from this character (present in B&B) and stuck her in a lifeless, chemless, triangle.

The triangle must end for the good of all - Sally/Nick/ Adam.

Well nobody can beat Sharon and her record of going through the Newman men including having been with all Nicks brothers and his dad at one time or another but Sally’s continued back and forth with the Newman brothers now for the last year is just about as pathetic at this point and equally hard to stomach.

    • #14
She always seems to wind up in Adam’s orbit whenever Nick isn’t around. And Adam, the dummy, loves it. Of course she still loves Adam, but I wonder what Sally will do when Nick returns. If it’s more of the same Nick bedding/Adam bashing, I may need a new tv, assuming my aim is still good. This triangle is sucking the life out of all three characters.
