Kyle at Newman Media

I don't think this has been addressed - other than when I posted about Audra having the authority to hire at NM - but has there been any scenes, either with Victoria or Victor about Kyle being hired at NM? I have not missed an episode, but I can't believe we wouldn't see this. There would have had to be some reaction from Victor or Victoria surely.

Y&R is doing a horrible job of connecting things together and that's been happening for a while. Adam was hired at Jabot and there were no scenes of Jack talking to the other executives about the hire, especially considering the impact on Ashley. Kyle is hired at Newman and none of the Newmans are seen discussing it? Kyle is sleeping with Audra and Summer hasn't spoken to her grandfather about it to try to get her fired? that would be a classic Summer move yet she's done nothing? Adam tries to hire Phyllis without talking to the executives because of the impact, but also while she is headed for trial? How can they make a PR splash with Phyllis being the talk of the town?

These storylines in a world where they impact each other don't make sense at all.

Victor finding out about Kyle and his boss Audra doing the deed behind his granddaughter’s back isn’t going to be from Summer imo.. no Kyle and that snake Audra don’t seem to care one bit and are anything but discreet with their dirty selves out in public and as he stated to Audra he doesn’t care what Summer or anyone thinks so he better own it when Victor finds out and the fallout that comes with it.. Kyle and Audra have absolutely zero shame for the way they are behaving in public while he is still very much married to Victors granddaughter and hasn’t made a move to file for divorce either so the fact that Ashley and others have found out is from the way Kyle and Audra choose to carry themselves in public … as for Summer telling Jack and Diane .. it’s about time someone lets them know what their snot nosed bratty spoiled son Kyle has been up to when he’s been too busy to go to their wedding or read to his son at night.. it’s clear Kyle’s put himself before anyone and everyone at this point.. I’m so glad Summer will be moving on from that hot mess.. let Audra takeover babysitting Kyle.

Shoelover, I think that the town learning about Kyle/Audra would have happened anyway, once they made their relationship public which I fully expect to happen any day now.

tabbycat46, yes, the town will soon know. And Kyle seems to want to make their relationship public. When they came downstairs at the GCAC, sat at the bar all close, Kyle said that they had nothing to hide..Just wondering how long before Audra gets tired of him.

I hope so too! I am really surprised that we haven't had any scenes with Victor or even Victoria about Kyle being hired.... we did when Nate hired Audra.... she met with Nate and Victoria if I remember correctly.

Victor as outraged when Adam joined Jabot but Jack doesn't seem to mind that Kyle is working at Newman. Maybe that's because the only thing Kyle is doing at Newman is his boss.

Can't believe that Victor would approve of Kyle working for Newman Media after what he is doing to Summer. Even if Summer has hurt Kyle with her actions he has no right to take Harrison away from her and cheat on her. Victor would certainly not condone this behavior and would do everything he could for Summer.

I thought it had only been one day since Kyle was supposed to start at NM? Then they blew off some meetings to go have blindfold sex. Summer was in that cranberry-colored dress for several days, which of course means it's the same day for a week on a soap.

Grandpa is in Germany and is otherwise focused on Adam and Nick. Victoria and Nikki were gone, so when would Summer have had time to go tell them about Kyle? Time is so screwed up all the time on this show.

Because it's only been one day! Two tops!

Give Summer a minute. Almost everyone was out of town. All of this just went down (with Kyle taking the NM job/Summer finding out he's sexing Audra) in a matter of a couple of days.

The pace of this show is screwing everything up. And now every day they are throwing in 4 solid minutes of flashbacks that barely pertain to anything.

The big flaw of Y&R, there is often no follow-up, it creates a story for a future drama but it never happens or much too late.

This, to me, is such a missed opportunity to have Noah in town and working for Newman Media, and Kyle and Noah butting heads....continuing the animosity that Jack and Victor have had for years....maybe even fighting over the same woman....Audra....they not only start stories that go nowhere, they keep passing up on 'built-in drama' and utilization of history that long-term viewers can be invested in.....

GuidingLite, I think that the show is invested in establishing Kyle and Audra as a bona fide couple. Also they already had one interloper, Summer, so they don't need yet another this soon after finally getting together.

You may be right about Kyle and Audra being 'long-term', at least for now....but it will be interesting to see what they do with her character.

When soaps have a character that 'catches on'....and they wish to further develop that character, they give them family....or an ex....or make them a relative of an existing family. Chloe Mitchell turned out to be Esther's daughter Kate Valentine (as well as established history with Billy off-screen)...Kevin Fisher turned out to be Michael Baldwin's half brother, Theo Vanderway was revealed to be Dina Mergeron's long-lost grandson via a child she'd had and given up for adoption...Chelsea Lawson was made the daughter of Jeffrey Bardwell, the identical twin of deceased Will Bardwell....in many cases a relatively popular character is either expanded upon or connected to more people over time. She can't be a Newman or an Abbott, having slept with both Noah and Kyle...and perhaps they will just leave her as simply Audra....we'll see.
