    Audra & Nate's interim positions

I'm a few episodes behind but don't think this has been addressed. How long is Nick's leave of absence supposed to be? Nate is supposed to be interim COO of NE and Audra is interim CEO of NM but they - and in particular Audra - are acting as if these are their new [permanent] roles. Audra has been over the top spouting off all over the place about her new role; even saying she has complete autonomy. She's even gone so far as to offer Kyle a position as her #2. Where does she get off doing that? Does she have that hiring authority; and is there even a position if she eventually has to go back to her COO position. Further, Nate has reassigned Nick's team; whether or not he has the authority to do that, wouldn't he need that team himself?

None of this makes sense; and Audra's ego is getting on my last nerve- although she learned from the best - i.e. Nate. Given the supposed reason given for Nick's leave, it still shouldn't be that long - and not long enough for these two to settle into the roles.

There’s no timeframe on when Nick would return to NE. She’s already encouraging Nick to work with Adam so she can make Nate the permanent COO.

As for Audra, she mentioned to Adam that it’s been hammered home that the role is temporary. So it seems like she is aware.

Victoria had this idea before she even found out about the baby. She used Nick's personal situations to demand him to take a LOA. She was already discussing her strategy with Nate in bed. She then fired Nicks team. She doesn't want him back in the same capacity he was. She gift-wrapped Nicks job and handed it to unqualified, sneaky Nate

Well said! This is exactly how it went down. Shame on Victoria for treating her brother this way over a man!

Interim employees are just that and until they have a permanent position do not hire staffing especially on the level that Audra is offering Kyle. At least that's how it worked when I was in HR. What makes Audra think that Victor will be happy to see an Abbott working his family company? Audra has one thing going for her and that's chutzpah.

Audra is truly feeling herself and being in an interim position, in the real world as you said, she wouldn't normally have the authority to hire an executive. That is, without consulting with Victoria. And yes, Victor would be none too pleased to have an Abbott come on board. This just popped in my head...Would be quite funny to see Victoria and Nate coming out of the "Newman Executive Suite" one afternoon at the same time Audra and Kyle come out of her suite (preferably) located right across the hall.

Nate and Audra still have this unspoken plan to never give up these new temporary positions. They have no intention of going back to their previous spots.

Nate will keep sexing up Victoria to distract her or maybe even put the idea in her head to make Nick permanently leave and publicly appoint him (Nate) new COO for good. Still depends on what Nick will decide to do.

I find it truly funny that Sally has been working on the plans for CW offices with Chloe, Sharon is not only back to work but also planning a huge business move to merge Kirsten with Adam's company and Faith is back in Ann Arbor doing her normal things, yet Nick is still expected to be taking a leave of absence because of his trauma.

I also can't wait until Kyle shows up for work as Audra's COO. The NE/NM C Suites are filled with piranha readily devouring anyone standing in their way.

I have to say, I use to like Audra, but like you OP, Audra's ego is getting on my last nerve too!
I honestly don't know where Audra gets off hiring Kyle without even discussing with Victoria. I think I even remember Nate going to Victoria about hiring Audra as his COO. Victor may like the idea of Kyle working at NM because he could possibly be useful to him in some way.
As for Nick's team being reassigned, that was all on Victoria from what I remembered. That move just proved that she had no intention of allowing Nick to come back to his job which is just so terrible of her to treat her brother like that... Nick has always been very supportive of Victoria and she treats him this way.... just terrible!!!
I think Victoria reassigned Nick's team because they were loyal to Nick and operated much like Nick did. Nate and Victoria are cutthroat and don't have a problem crossing the line to make things happen, Nick didn't operate like that and neither did his team so they would be of no use to Nate because of that in my opinion.

Great points Teacher! Nick's trauma should actually go back to his punching Ashland, leading to his death.

I still can't believe that Nick never had to pay for any of that. What a disappointing and abrupt ending to the entire Ashland s/l.
