Why Does Victoria Have to Like Adam?

It seems that this is the bone of contention with many and for me I don’t see why she has to give Adam the time of day.

She doesn’t trust him with good reason, the things he has done to her and the people she loves she would be crazy to trust him.

Remember Adam (and Sally) schemed for Victoria and Ashland to reunite so he can get the seat back. He came up with that idea to give Ashland the money to get the seat. Any “good” Adam has done for Victoria has an ulterior motive, it was never for her. Even the wedding was for Victor not her.

Now he is mad because he couldn’t keep the seat when he knew taking the CEO was a ploy and he had no idea how long she would stay away. He took a risk and he lost.

Adam needs to leave NE and do his own thing. And if he needs to be mad at anyone it’s Victor.

So for me I have no problem with Victoria not liking Adam. Adam doesn’t like her either

You draw more flies with honey. She's nasty so then he's nasty. If she made an attempt, then I'm sure he would too and you never knoe, they could end up actually liking each other. Why can't they What would it hurt? Adam has made an honest attempt her for months now but then she got in his way just to stick it to him. I doubt there would have had to be any scheming with his gal pal if they were all getting along.

Exactly and when something happens where Adam is needed for another body part or something else for the "family", I hope he walks away...Especially if it involves his witch of a sister. He needs to be done doing things "for the family" when they end up hurting him.

To answer your question OP, no. Adam has deserved Victoria’s attitude. He has not been shown to do anything without an ulterior motive. Nor, Adam does have to like Victoria. I haven’t seen any sincere olive branch coming from Adam. There are usually circumstances that bring sibling rivalry to a more mellow co-existence but I do not want to see another “Adam Saves The Day so Victoria has to accept him” story. This is just rinse and repeat. Adam goes rogue then swoops in - no thanks.

I have. He seemed very sincere in wanting a better relationship with her. I remember him joking around with her, clearly trying to diffuse the tension and thrilled when he thought sahe was extending the same olive branch.

He saved her son, took a bullet for her dad, saved her sister, saved Nick, risking his freedom.

He could have died doing that, so not sure what agenda it serves.

When Victor hired Chelsea to break up her marriage, he warned her because he thought she deserved to know.

He gave up custody of Christian even though it broke his heart because it was the best thing for Christian

He has let Chelsea have shared custody of Connor because Connor needs his mom

Adam has repeatedly shown forgiveness, empathy and been the better person, a curtesy that has never been extended to him

But, does all Adam’s actions of “saving” someone mean that he can do anything without fear of push back?

Does taking a bullet for Victor mean Adam in the future can mess with Victor’s meds? No one can be certain, not even a doctor, how Victor’s body chemistry would react to that action.

Adam clearly plotted against Victoria during the Ashland story. And, it’s this story that Adam thinks he is owed grace.

No one has to like anyone but when someone is trying to do right especially when it comes to implementing new ideas for the company as Adam has tried to do many times with Victoria who shuts him and his ideas down, that's a problem for me because she's not even trying to work anything out with Adam or see his value in the company because of her own fears and weakness when it comes to Adam. Adam has made the effort when it comes to Victoria but I have yet to see her make any effort towards trying to get along with Adam which is a problem I feel.

I haven't seen Adam make effort and prior to Ashland (which he did for Victor, not Victoria), he tried to bomb the building. That said, when Adam first came to town he tried to implement new ideas and Victoria tried to work with him, but he took advantage of her and made commitments without her agreement which ultimately led to bad decisions. Adam hasn't regained her trust, so why would she take any new idea from him at face value at this point?

Victoria doesnt have to like Adam but she needs to be civil toward him. Apparently her hatred is so deep it seeps out of her every time she sees him or hears his name. I hope she pays big time.

Yes it is deep. It seems deeper than most. Not sure why. Everyone else has been able to move on from his past and are at least civil. Even if it has to do with Delia she knows it was not intentional.

She doesn't have to like him. She isn't even civil to him. She sneers at him, knowing that daddy Vic will always shut Adam up when he tries to complain about HER. She isn't kind, or considerate in any way. Her constant snobbery and demonstration of her superiority would challenge a saint. Adam doesn't deserve this. Victoria knows that whatever she does, she has her Daddy, Mommy and Big Bro Nick behind her. She's an entitled brat.

Her distrust is deep. The arc of the relationship with Victor and Victoria is that Victoria was always there to run the business, yet Victor always preferred his male heir. First Nick. Nick and Victoria's relationship suffered because of that. Nick bowed out and here comes a SORASED Adam. The first thing that Adam does is try to undermine her in business while appearing as if he was working with her as a team. Well..he was working for her, it was her division. He makes a mistake, is forgiven by Victor, and Victoria ends up leaving the company. The reason why she had Victor sign paperwork this time around is because she finally wanted security in the position. As long as Adam is around, she has no security. In part because of Victor, and in part because of Adam. Adam literally messed with Victor's meds and framed Victoria, so she knows that there is nothing that he won't do. Add the recent bomb on top of that, and you have what we see on screen.

she doesn't HAVE to like him - but she could stop acting like the jealous child at her age and at least stop trying to sabatoge him at every turn because she wants daddy all to herself. she is sooooo jealous that he is Victor Jr and that is what she has always wanted to be.

She doesn't have to like him nor does he have to like her. I have yet to see him making any efforts yet she is the one always called out of it. When she was first putting together the Locke merger, he wanted to try to get some of the companies himself. Then he wanted to poach Locke employees. He's kept trying to convince Victor that her judgement wasn't good enough to be the CEO. Then he and Sally have had their schemes. He also hasn't been doing great things with the business. ChanceComm was put under him but we just learned he hasn't even fully integrated it into Newman Media. He came up with the idea of a streaming platform when he was temporarily in the CEO seat and Victor finally okayed it to be part of Newman Media but then he dropped it and didn't do anything with it. That isn't Victoria stopping his ideas. He doesn't follow through! Adam hasn't made a real effort with her either so both are at fault.

I don't believe she has to like him, but she could show him some respect. She has overtly been rude, she has micro managed him to try and push him out. IMO she is very threatened by him. Yes it's in his nature as it's in hers to want to rise to the top so I think it's unlikely that they can ever work together without trying to outdo one another.

I completely agree with your comment. I too believe that Victoria is threatened by Adam and doesn't want him to succeed in anything. Victoria will stop at nothing to make sure Adam doesn't outshine her in business I feel which is just terrible.

I don’t think it matters what ideas Adam has Victor does not trust him - and with good reason.

Again why should she try to work things out with someone she does not trust.

Adam can make ten thousand efforts she is not going to take them as genuine due to his track record.

For me, while Victoria can be a bit bratty about it, I have no issue with her general attitude towards Adam because he has earned it.

Phyllis hates Viki but was still the adult and protected her when she let an exec steal right from under her nose.

At this point, Adam has saved pretty much everyone Viki's black little heart loves so she need to give him a break.

Amelia Heinle said so herself. She said sure Adam did bad things but he also did good things for her and she should stop being so hateful to him.

She said most of her vidinctiveness came not from Adam's actions, but her jealousy over Victor and Adam's relationship.

BTW for anyone saying Adam is obsessed with Victor, Victor proves to be just as obsessed with Adam in the Canadian epi

So holding up his saving people as some sort of get of jail free card doesn’t work because he doesn’t change his ways.
