When we first saw her I thought she said she was working as an architect for some firm so how can she just stay in GC.

She was never married to Jack. Not sure about Victor but she told Phyllis that she worked to make ends meet in real estate. So she got rich enough to buy a house but now she can't afford her hotel suite.

She just bought a house. Why isnt she living in it? I guess actual money is not a concern on a soap. She needs to go home to her new house and leave GC. I simply cannot listen to everyone, especially Phyllis, blasting Diane 90% of each and every show. Phyllis was out of control today. I had to turn it off.

Oh that was nasty. Phyllis needs to tell Jack she wants no part of it and then walk away. She also needs to tell her daughter to not involve her in any of this Diane stuff at all. Phyllis was deepely affected by that dame the last time around so she is afraid the stunts are going to happen again. Phyllis should keep her dignity and if Jack wants her bad enough. let him work for it and tell Kle to keep Diane away from him and out of their conversations and especially out of HIS house.

Yes, that was mentioned above. Who's making the payments? I won't be surprised if she doesn't tell Kyle that she sold it and is making GC her permanent home.

Diane also might have bought the house to stay in Keemo’s family since Allie’s mom didn’t want it and that she might gift it to either Kyle or Allie in the future as a way to kind of make up for her absence from Kyle’s life.

If Diane did well in the real estate market and with investments she very well could have bought the house outright and for cash. Here in the SF bay area there are a lot of very wealthy people who could do that, southern Calif. too.

Actually, each state has it's own laws regarding real estate. She would have to take the test and get a license to sell in another state.

Did you SEE that house? And in LA area? From Zillow: The typical home value of homes in Los Angeles is $988,288. This value is seasonally adjusted and only includes the middle price tier of homes.

We have no idea what Keemo’s house sold for but no doubt Southern Calif 2-story house with nice garden space in back yard would have listed for a pretty penny. So even as a real estate agent the best Diane could have done was a break on her own commission (real estate office still gets some) and maybe early notice of house going on market.

I don’t think Allie said what her mom got for the house, just that her mom was anxious to sell it and sign papers and cash out. Didn’t sound like Keemo did a transfer on death deed to Allie but instead house was probably part of his estate and guessing Allie’s mom was either executor, POA or mentioned in the will. Given how close it sounded that Keemo and Allie were I’m surprised if she got nothing from her dad’s estate. Maybe we’ll learn more later…and see Allie’s estranged mom who we know isn’t Diane.

It’s very possible Diane did well for herself in real estate and invested money in the market boosting its value. I don’t think I heard that Diane was broke. She did tell Kyle when he said he could get her accommodations at the Athletic Club that she responded that she wanted something less expensive. Haven’t seen the rooms at the GCAC in some time (maybe last when Dina was staying there) but I certainly would rate them way more luxurious and spacious than Phyllis’ boutique GP and much more expensive therefore. So not knowing how long she would be in town, I can see why Diane might chose a more modest accommodation. Nice that Kyle would put her up at GCAC and nice it’s still around. Have to take a closer look at the room next time to see the set.

It's been possible for the past ten years or so for anyone to do well in real estate virtually everywhere. But in Los Angeles and SoCal in general, a realtor or broker could be making in the millions, as houses there, even small ones, are in the high six figures and upward in the millions. Diane was previously an architect. She could have done that and made more money, but that's a pretty competitive field, and pretty niche-y, especially in places like LA, SF and NYC. But she could pretty much get a job anywhere as a realtor (but would have to pass state licensing rules).

She has some kind of job because she wouldn't be able to buy house in LA or a plane ticket to GC staying at the GP. I guess she took a leave of absence from that job to reconnect with Kyle so she may be living off some savings I guess.

I have a couple of friends who are Real Estates agents and their job is not a traditional 9-5 desk job. They have crazy hours based on when clients want to see homes for sales so they set their schedule.

Maybe Diane took care of all “open” clients by closing the deals and didn’t take on any extra clients while she was planning on being in GC. ?

It bothered me too. She owns a house in LA but couldn’t afford the Athletic Club? She has a great job but don’t they need her to get back to it or work in GC? She says she’s not going to rush Kyle but it looks like she’s manipulating the situation already. Too many inconsistencies to trust her yet, Kyle.

I have a close friend who made over $3 million in commissions last year in the state of CA. IL does not have reciprocity with CA so, most likely, she would have to take the exam. I'm not sure if she could go directly to being a realtor or start out as sales person.

At any rate, there has been no mention of her net worth but Kyle assumed she needed help to live at the Athletic Club.

I have a feeling she and Ashland will get into some type of business relationship. At first I thought it would be Nick but not so much now.

LOL. There's no such thing as legalities on a soap when it comes to transferring a real estate license. I'm sure she could set up shop in GC tomorrow if that's what the writers wanted to do. Ya gotta just laugh some times.
