Ashland vs. Abbot's for custody of Harrison

Ashland may have had a hand in getting Tara arrested. His best defense against the Abbot's is getting her released and onboard. She does not have to show up but it can be known to everybody involved she is free and wants her child. What the heck did Ashland agree to. How does Jack have the authority to deny him access. I noticed Summer refers to Harrison as her son. This could get interesting. I think Harrison should be reunited with his Mother in NY. Kyle should have visitation. Harrison could visit him and his stepmother.

Ashland hasn’t shown this much interest in Harrison since his arrival in GC. Now, Ashland pops up like he hasn’t done anything wrong wanting to see Harrison.

Jack told Ashland when he stopped by the house that he (Jack) needed permission from Kyle and Summer in order for Ashland to see Harrison. Jack also said he agreed with the decision to stop the access.

Makes me wonder if Ashland’s scheme and lying about cancer was never uncovered and if Victoria never left him how interested in being a “ father” to little Harrison he would actually be? seeing as he couldn’t be bothered with him before Kyle and Summer returned what’s the sudden urge now? Unless he’s wanting to use him as a bargaining chip… sadly I think Summer and Kyle are more concerned with what’s best for Harrison than the father who supposedly raised him from birth.

I wonder if any of the interested parties will hire Christine to represent them? LOL. She'll sell them down the river just like she did with Abby. She'll tell whoever she represents that there is no reason to go to court because they will loose so just hand the kid over.

Here's what annoys me. Hasnt Kyle addressed the legal issues of getting full custody of Harrison before now? What, he just took the kid and left the country without legally establishing his paternity and rights to the child? Any normal person would have done that first thing. Seriously, can the writers ever, EVER, have these chars do things that a normal person would do instead of being so incredibly dense and downright stupid? If Kyle has not legally established his rights to Harrison, couldnt Ashland have him charged with kidnapping?

Seeing as Ashland abandoned his son by literally giving him away to Kyle and Summer … two people at the time Harrison hardly knew I’d say ASHLAND is far from a concerned and caring father worried about what’s best for Harrison … not sure why all of a sudden he seems to be showing interest to be a dad now when before he couldn’t be bothered. Kyle didn’t kidnap that kid… he took care of him after his father technically pretty much gave him up

I thought there was dialogue about a lawyer when Kyle had the DNA testing.


I bet for this custody battle to work the viewers will find out that Kyle never took the appropriate legal steps. However, Harrison is his son, Kyle never agreed to any adoption by Ashland.

The mention of Christine’s name yanks my chain. She better be giving Ashland the bad advice because one of the reasons she sided Devon was Chance’s emotional state and Abby leaving Dominic with Devon for less than a week. Ashland is mental stability should be questioned for faking a deadly disease and Harrison was with Kyle for months.

So from what I heard in today’s show was that Ashland is still legally Harrison’s dad, not Kyle. And Jack taunted Ashland to take them to court to get to see his son.

So will Ashland, who just met Diane but knows she’s Kyle’s mom and Harrison’s grandmother, start romancing her thinking if he ends up marrying her he would have access to Harrison for sure that way? and be a thorn in the side of the Abbots and Newmans by staying in town. Not like any other woman (well maybe Victoria ) would want anything to do with him after faking cancer to get a company, so Diane will seem like a safe harbor for him. She is attractive, well mannered and not some hysterical mess.

That's what Ashland said. Legally Kyle has no right to keep Ashland away from Harrison. I just wasn't sure I heard that after Jack's response. Thank you.

? sure thing… let Ashland and Diane hook up and team up to use Harrison for their own benefit… that’ll for sure get Kyle to make a decision for once on giving his mother another chance if she sides with Ashland against her own son Kyle! Phyllis , Jack, Summer and Ashley and many others have voiced their concern to Kyle about forgiving Diane and letting her back into his life just to once again let him down and hurt him! If Diane were to team up with Ashland then that would just prove them all right imo

Finally, Ashland mentioned some legality. He said that Kyle and Summer "seem to be forgetting that we have a legally binding agreement", whatever that exactly means. Now Ashland has threatened going to a judge to get a court order.

At least it was addressed and now of course we will move forward with more formal legal custody arrangements hopefully. It's ridiculous to not know who has the higher legal standing in the custody of Harrison.

It’s funny to me that Ashland didn’t seem to care about being a “father” to Harrison until his wife left him and he became the town pariah from his cancer scheme… seems to me Ashland’s next project seems to be Harrison but for what reason I’m not sure yet… to gain Victoria’s sympathy maybe? Ashland just handing his son off so easily for a year after telling him he was going through cancer treatments ( which was a lie) told me everything I need to know about how much Ashland actually cares for Harrison?

Hope they find out Tara lied about the paternity cause she did intend to get Kyle for herself and probably felt she could also climb into the Abbott family and also money so she would be set..

Hopefully the courts issue paternity tests be done and they find out Ashland it the father.. Ashland and Harrison have so much chemistry with eachother as father and son..

Harrison should be in foster care while all these parties learn how to be adults. I can't believe Kyle and Summer turned their back to a 4 year old in a busy coffee house a couple days ago to have a private conversation. This poor kid is going to drown one time when he's left alone to play with ducks. Yikes.

Nah, foster care is horrible and would traumatize Harrison for life! He should be returned to his legal father, which is what a court would do, short of claims of physical abuse. Ashland said that they have a legally binding agreement, so that means that he allowed Kyle to spend time w/his alleged bio father, which is not abandonment. Kyle is the one who has to claim paternity and sue for custody. The good thing is that EVER'BODY's dirty deeds can be scrutinized if he does that. It can get pretty ugly.

Not good. Hope Ashland doesn't win custocy. Don't know how he could but what if Harrison's mom
returned. IDK this could be bad for Kyle.

My take on this is that Tara faked the DNA test. That looked absolutely phoney at the time. She had an agenda. She wanted out of the marriage so she used Kyle to tie herself into that family. She knew there was no money for her if she divorced Ashland so she needed an income and that was one more reason why she blackmailed Summer to get out of town. Ashland ran another test and said he found out he wasn't the father. I think he lied. I think he really is the father but it served him to not be at that time so he could ship the boy off with Kyle and initiate his plan with the cancer and to take down the Newmans. He likely thought his plan would work and then he would just scoop the boy back up at the end of the day but the whole thing backfired on him. I think this is why he keeps looking at pics of Victoria and of the boy...because as of now he has lost the only things that meant anything to him and that he loved. I used to think that Theo could be the father but as of now I believe he was an accomplice in Tara's plan to fake the DNA,

But when Ashland had the test done it was long before his plan to take over Newman and marry Victoria and at the time he took the test there was nowhere to ship the boy off to because Kyle was still living in GC it was a long time before Milan and why would he not just get another dna test done then

I thought Tara rigged the initial test to make Kyle the father. I don’t believe Ashland is the father. However, I don’t think this result is going to change and Harrison will remain Kyle’s.

I used to think Harrison might be Theo’s too but now I think he was just a plot point used to reconnect Tara and Kyle.

Regardless, I do believe Tara’s whole story changed once the contracts of MM and HK could not be finalized. I thought Tara signed long-term (I know that doesn’t mean much) and Ashland was just for a few shows. It all turned when Kyle and Summer had to be sent to Milan.

I agree Ashland is not the father and they are not going to change his paternity now he is Kyle's son and it will stay that way maybe at a future date they will have Tara return who knows.

I feel like Tara has to come back at some point. Maybe they'll recast with a vet. People keep wanting Bree Williamson to play the role.

I used to think Tara could be a love interest for Nick. It would be a bit soapy with Nick/Summer/Kyle connection. But, it looks like a Nick/Sharon reunion.

Tara could still comeback to mess with Kyle and Summer.
