Not being a great protector IMO. Kyle is basing his decisions on childhood memories. Diane showed Kyle ONLY what she wanted him to see. It does not negate her true past or warrant her getting the benefit of the doubt now. Kyle is being too careless with his family, he's looking at his mom thru the eyes of a niave child. His family needs a strong real man, not a starry-eyed little boy.

I agree OP. Kyle is possibly making a huge mistake not heeding his wife's concerns regarding Diane. You make such a great point about Kyle looking at his mother thru the eyes of a naive child. He makes references to how Diane was so good to him when he was child but that was then this is now. Kyle really needs to remember the fact that his mother left him by faking her own death and didn't look back knowing she was leaving a grieving little boy behind. Diane didn't think how this would affect Kyle growing up. I do believe in forgiveness, and second chances, but Kyle really just needs to be careful when it comes to Diane and not let his guard down so fast because Diane was on her best behavior one day... Diane is a master manipulator and knows just what she needs to do to get what she wants something Kyle needs to keep at the front of his mind.Comment

Why has no one pointed out to Kyle that while Diane was being so good to him as a child, she was also doing all the bad stuff he's heard about? All at the same time! Looks like compartmentalizing comes naturally to her. Just because she's treating a small child well doesn't mean she's not also scheming, stalking, and playing petty games, all at the same time... -
Kyle is stuck because he never had a chance for his relationship with his mother to mature.

I find it rather annoying and funny that Jack, Phyllis and Summer have to apparently tell Kyle every day more or less what he should do about Diane and now Harrison while saying it’s his decision…and he can always change his mind. This is the guy who supposedly is in charge of running Jabot now? Jabot may be ripe for a take over! Maybe even by Ashland the way things are going lol.Comment

Kyle is a grown man and if he decides to forgive his mother and accept her back into his life, what is that to do w/anyone else?
No one has to like it, they just have to respect his decision. They don't have to deal w/Diane. Like it or not, Diane is Kyle's family and Harrison is Diane's family, too --IF it turns out that Kyle is actually the boy's father

IMO, Diane has not changed a bit. Kyle has yet to see the real Diane, but I can only hope the day will come, soon, when he does. Yes, she is his mother and he remembers the good in her, but he's an adult now, not a child, and I hope that when she starts more of her rotten ways, he'll see this and not put a blind eye to her evil deeds. Just because she is his mother, he can care about her, but not agree with everything she does and he should make that clear to her. He also needs to remember...she allowed him to think she was dead. That's a pretty significant piece, IMO, for him to focus on when he's making decisions about allowing her access to his family.Originally posted by Smoochies View PostComment

Also with the flashbacks they did with new Ashland with Victoria you can tell he does have chemistry with Victoria and I believe even moreso with Robert Newmans version of Ashland.. That was very very evident to me.....
I didn't think they would redo some scenes but they did so we could see flashbacks...The chemistry between current Ashland and Victoria is so evident.. Also he is always looking at both their pictures when he is alone too..
They showed them in Tuscany I believe after the wedding by the balcony and them sharing a kiss and just their embrace and speaking as well.. You can still see the chemistry between them too..... I don't see any of that with Diane...
I also feel it was NOT needed to bring Diane back alive to bring Kyle back to GC or cause any angst... There was Allie as a new family member being shown as Keemo's daughter.. That would cause enough story for the whole Abbott family... I did not appreciate Diane of all people being brought back alive.. I think what she did was horrible to fake her death..
That is the really bad to do to a young child, not to mention it was for years.. If she was sick and lied like Ashland sure it's still wrong but at least he made like he was getting better to the child not pretending for years to be dead, no justification for Ashland, just making a point which comes off so much worse..
None is OK but the rules on a "soap opera's" are different than in real life, sure it's all wrong but it's a soap and not something Victor and others haven't done and would do to benefit by using people to get what he wants.. He made Ashland sign papers while having a heart attack and didn't want to call for help until he did as Nikki also looked on.. Victorria was outraged and she told Ashland how disgusted she was with that.. So he knew she was not that way.. Victoria may be a hard ass business woman but would never use a person's heart attack to get a signature..
Nick also did some dirty things as well believe it or not some forget cause he has had little story or for the most part does good but he knew Daniel was innocent when Cassie died as she whispered in his ear the truth before dying and he hid evidence to clear Daniel and Sharon knew he did it too.. The chase went on and on after Daniel and Lily and he knew he was innocent??..
Summer when he thought she was Jack's, Nick lied and made sure to keep it from others instead of being honest.. I'm sure even if it turned out after all those years Summer was Jack's he would not be cut our of Summers, however he took the cowardly way out and hid it..
I can name them all but just a few I will...Sharon faked her death even to her children and also abandoned them before that when they were little and they were looking for her.. Victor used Mariah to gaslight Sharon, Nikki concealed she was in remission to Victor as well, Sharon kept Christian and let Sage die at the side of the road and Mariah helped hide ALL that?? Chelsea faked her mental illness, Adam did so many faking or illnesses, sexuality, Victor faked his death and we have had people do so many horrible things).. It is a soap I realize that but all the back from the dead?? I mean come on..
You let a child (Kyle) was little too and she let him believe she died.. Not right away come out and say she was not and just needed to get help and was needed psychiatric help..Comment
