    Harrison/Skyle remind me of Shick/Cassie

Anyone else? I love how Summer loves Harrison like how Nick loved Cassie. I really hope though Harrison doesn't have the same fate as Cassie. I have to wonder though what would happen if Tara gets out of jail one day or if Ashland tries to file some sort of case. In the beginning I didn't think Harrison was Kyle's son but at this point, why change it?

This does remind me of Shick and Cassie always loved that storyline. Harrison is a lucky boy being raised in a loving family that can give him siblings as well just like Cassie. Hopefully Tara winds up dying or Ashland somehow goes to prison or something that way it’ll eliminate the Lockes from his life then Kyle and Summer will be Harrison’s only parents and he can be an Abbott just like his potential future siblings.

Yes I can see it and especially if they stay together for awhile and grow their family even more… no doubt! They have been together for awhile already and have known each other at a younger age then Shick even so will be interesting to see their storyline together play out as the years go on. Also I love the way they both are with Harrison and it’s obvious how quickly Summer has fallen for Kyles son over the last year she’s spent raising him… so sweet to see! I can’t wait to see them as young parents with their own children as well one day!

It's not comparing their love story, IMO, Shick's was way better with better writing.

it will be interesting to see how they write them as they age, affairs, other lovers, etc.

It's been what? Two days? Nah. Summer hasn't been around Harrison enough on screen. When Hunter played her Harrison didn't want her toy. LOL.

I can see a few similarities as a young couple in love raising a child together that only one of them is biologically connected to .. I mean I can see what the OP meant but I mean overall I don’t think it’s the exact same as Cassie’s whole story and adoption and such was played out in more detail for sure … who knows where the storyline with Harrison will lead I mean there’s a part of me that thinks it’ll end up coming out that Kyle never was technically Harrisons father as I wouldn’t put it past either Tara or Ashland or both to lie about something like that and fake paternity results to suit themselves but I guess we will have to wait and see how it all plays out

We haven't seen them raise anything. People saw Nick fall in love with Cassie and see him as his daughter. Summer is just Harrison's insta-mom cause the show wants to keep Tara in jail for a white collar crime. We're not seeing any of the emotional impact of them raising a child Kyle conceived when he was pressured into sex, and all the emotions that come with that. He was just a horn dog and now they get a ready-made family, ignoring the family Harrison actually grew up with. Granted, we didn't see that either, but that puts those two (Ashland/Tara/Harrison and Kyle/Summer/Harrison) on equal footing to the audience, Summer/Kyle/Harrison certainly isn't anywhere close to Nick/Sharon/Cassie.

Like I said I see similarities in the stories … never implied they’re exactly the same at all and I don’t think the OP meant that either but it’s clear you’re not a fan of Kyle and Summer so I understand how we are having different opinions here on the matter. I understand what you’re saying I just don’t fully agree with it is all.

There are other families who have adopted, too. Neil and Drucilla adopted Devon, too, and so Lily and Devon became brother and sister and Neil/Dru raised Devon. Devon had a neglectful bio mother who was a drug addict and later it turns out Tucker is his bio daddy but Tucker never knew until Devon was a full grown adult. Cassie's storyline was different, too. Cassie was adopted by a neglectful adoptive mother, who ran around and left tiny little girl in her grand mother's care and the grand mother tried the best she could but as a viewer you could tell she just did not have the energy to look after a 5/6 year old. Grace, Sharon's best friend, found out about Cassie and her living conditions, too. Cassie was not adopted by rich family, as a matter of fact, the adopted mother and her mother who did not look the best in health and showed her age and couldn't keep up with a 5/6 year old (Cassie played by Camrym Grimes as a little girl) and the place they lived at was more remote, dismal and in the poor section. So, the grandmother agreed that Cassie was better off with Grace, anyone but her own neglectful adoptive mother of Cassie, too. The adoptive mother of Cassie was so angry type, too, would shout at her own mother and her mother was not at her best health looking, too. I used to really feel sorry for the grand mother as she did her best taking care of the tiny little girl Cassie. I was so happy to see Cassie reunited with her biological very young mother, Sharon, and adopted by Nick and they became a family even though NIck was resistant at first because he felt like they just got married and wanted the honey moon period or beginning of his married life just to be he and Sharon and he did not like the beginning of his married life interrupted by the appearance of Cassie back in Sharon's life. But, it was shown how Grace had Cassie for awhile (she did not let Sharon know at first and Grace started liking taking care of the little girl, Cassie herself), but eventually it will come out when Sharon finds out and Sharon will want her litttle girl back and so Nick will come around and help Sharon to get Cassie back, too. I believe Cricket/Christine help in the legal sense to have Cassie returned to her biological mother, too. But, all of this was not easy since the neglectful adoptive mother fought for Cassie, too and she and her own mother got into it, too, when she found out her own mother (Cassie's adoptive grandmother) was in with Grace to get Cassie. The grandmother ended up in the hospital bed, too. Camrym Grimes actually was on screen a lot, too, and her storyline was indepth and told on screen and even her adoptive mother and grandmother were on screen a lot, too. And, the creator/owner of Y&R, the great storyteller, Bill Bell, was the one who told the story about Cassie. It was different.

I thought of Kyle's situation with his Mother. He's struggling with separation issues. He should be especially sensitive to Harrison being with his Mother in New York. I also thought of Christian. I hope I'm around if the current characters are around when Christian grows up and confronts Adam with the whole family present when he asks the question we all know is coming, "why did you want Connor and not me?" I'm aware of the recent custody mess Nick and Adam went through. That child will grow up and want answers.

Sometimes a parent is not the best to be a parent for all kinds of reasons. Adam knew Sage really wanted Nick to be the bio dad. Adam has to his credit said Nick is a great dad. Birth parent/s do put their child’s needs above their own in situations and give them up for adoption. Not quite the situation there. Might be easier to understand a bio parent’s decision when one is an adult.

Despite Adam wanting Christian to know he was his bio dad, Nick has prevented that mostly from happening, although Adam did try telling Christian and not to take anything away from Nick. I see Nick keeping Christian in the dark well beyond his teen years and beyond 18 if he could keep it a family “secret”. I’m sure Christian would want to know how Sage and Adam were connected, their background together, and Nick probably wouldn’t want to go into all that.

They are cute and I am glad the younger generation is being built. I don't get Shick/Cassie vibes at all though, I guess because for me, the whole Shick storyline from the beginning, and especially the Cassie introduction, is one of the greatest things i have ever witnessed on TV in any medium. Hopefully, Skyle will get compelling stories and they can build their own legacy. I do like NuSummer already, and I never cared for her in the past.

Summer is not Harrison’s mom, he still has one, and how did Tara do anything to warrant her being dead? Not like she’s killed anyone and even then murderers in GC live among everyone. I get fans of the couple just don’t want certain people in their lives but killing off characters is extreme to make that happen.

While Summer might be Harrison’s step-mom she really does have parental right with regard to him. His care should be up to Kyle, Tara and possibly Ashland not knowing for sure what his legal status is. Before Kyle could even address Ashland, Summer laid into Ashland. I get why but not really her place.

I understand where Summer is coming from and I honestly like how they are writing Summer this time around more like her mother Phyllis where before Summer to me was more timid with some people in some ways ( like how she let Tara push her out of town ?) where as this Summer seems to be less intimidated and speaks her mind more like Phyllis and I like it! I think Summer and Kyle are on the same page with Harrison at least ( maybe not about Diane though just yet) but perhaps since Kyle is his father Summer can let him take the lead more when dealing with Ashland

I think they make a nice family. It does feel like they are being setup as the young couple to carry that generation. And, it’s nice because YR feels like they are going back to the formula that worked under Bell.

Plus, they have already been together, split, and reunited. I can see it continuing.

Yep… Skyle has that same past history of being on and off and first loves and all and I can see them continuing on with this couple together down the road and building a family eventually as well together and making more roots. I love both these actors together and their chemistry is amazing imo so I’ll enjoy these two as much as I can for now and all the angst that’s thrown their way in the future lol

I really don't think that Summer has any parental rights with regard to Harrison. I do, however, think she loves her stepson, and I'm sure she & Kyle make decisions about him together.

Sorry Theresa but I don’t think so.

Imo Tara will be back and Kyle will be torn. I think Harrison was created to pair up Kyle and Tara but when HK and MM left and the Tara actress didn’t seem to catch on (I liked her but she wasn’t the original casting choice), they had to change things up.

I also don’t see the writers as letting Skyle last any length of time nor letting there be a Skyle baby and if there was, the child wouldn’t be as important to Kyle as Harrison because I think Kyle loves Tara more than Summer.

I’m a Skyle fan but I will never, ever count on anything happy for them.

I love how Summer loves Harrison like her own just as Nick loved Cassie as his own. Summer is protective of Harrison which I really love. I truly hope Harrison will not suffer the same fate as Cassie. I want him to grow up and have a family of his own one day. I could see Tara coming back to GC down the road some day and it be like a Diane Jenkins kind of story with Harrison because I do see some similarities between the two mothers.

I see a similarity as well… both are liars who used their kids as weapons against the fathers because the father wants absolutely nothing to do with them … honestly in the end if they’re a custody battle between Ashland and Kyle I have a feeling it may come out Kyles not the father… I wouldn’t put it past Tara to somehow switch dna results … I mean it’s not like a child’s dna being messed with has never happened before.
