What a devious creep she is! Now she has planted the seed of doubt in Jack's head, that Phyllis only became closer with him to mark her territory. How the heck would that babe know how close Phyllis and Jack are? How would she know if they are intimate or especially that they just slept together to be making those kinds of statements. So now Jack will be on the defensive and keeping Phyllis at bay. I hope he mans up and tells her his reason for keeping his distance, because I'm sure that's what he's going to do. At this point, Phyllis needs to tell him to take a hike and take care of himself. If he is that stupid to suck up Diane's comments then I hope she takes full advantage of him. He's not worth Phyllis' time and effort.

I don't think it's fair to say Jack believes her based on his face until the next episode. Phack have been denying their feelings for a good 6 months: People like Amanda, Summer, Lauren have called them on it. It's too soon, we saw his reaction for 1 second.
-
You could be right...I hope... but that look is a huge question mark right now. Even if Jack doesn't fall for it, it just shows that Diane is up to no good and has not changed one little bit, but knowing how gullible and naive Jack is, I think he's going to question his relationshiop with Phyllis.

I want to see what happens next. However, soap writing always places obstacles in the way so I can see Jack thinking about Diane’s comment. It would be nice *IF* he does think there is merit to Diane’s mind game (it’s what she does) then he talks to Phyllis. Also, I can see Phyllis getting upset that Jack would even be thinking that Diane is right. This is about to get messy—— Phyllis/Jack, Summer/Kyle and now I think even Lauren/Michael.
-
-
I too want to see what happens next because the fans have been waiting for Jack and Phyllis to finally reunite or show some kind of romantic interest in each other which they finally did. I hope Jack remembers the kind of manipulative person Diane is and not allow himself to be sucked into her games shunning Phyllis or start acting weird around her ;

Diane is out to cause trouble for anyone she can. Don't get Michael with her. Where was Lauren that
he was eating alone and with Diane? Such a weird friendship.

Such a weird friendship.Oh no doubt Diane is in town to ruin many lives and with how naive Baldwin is concerning Diane and her intentions I hope it does cause problems for him and Lauren… I get they’re “friends” and maybe Baldwin is feeling pity for her because she has burned all her bridges in town but imo Diane is not one to be trusted and from what I’ve seen hasn’t changed at all so have fun with that one Michael.

I'm wondering if Phyllis will look up the Counsellor that was supposed to have cured Diane and made her into such an honorable person... I think Jack told her not to, but I think it will come out after Jack is duped and made a fool of and perhaps has lost Phyllis in the process.

oh she's changed alright..she's become an even more devious and manipulating B than she ever was... I don't think she wants to make amends at all. I think she is out to do harm to those who did not support her back in the day, even her own son because I see her causing a huge problem in that marriage.

Diane has not changed one bit. Same manipulative *bleep* she's always been. I half-think she was trying to get Michael to invite her to stay at his place since mean old Phyllis kicked her out. And she was just sitting in the lobby looking for an opportunity to cause trouble when Phyllis and Jack came in.

Well others here have had the same exact thoughts about Phyllis’ sudden change of affection so think it’s totally understandable for Diane and Jack to question it given how manipulative and controlling Phyllis herself can be and how she has marked her territory before. Phyllis sure made a point of running over to Michael immediately to discourage him from befriending Diane. LOL at how Phyllis doesn’t see herself in Michael’s description of why he would want to be friends.

Viewers have also seen the buildup and many assumed that she didn't allow herself to go there before of all of the chaos. It's possible that Diane made her see what she really wanted all along and it's not nefarious. Diane was fishing. Diane had no reason to question the nature of their friendship or any basis to assume that things had changed.
Regarding Michael. Well..He supported Diane in the custody case against Jack and Phyllis. Michael and Phyllis are close friends, but given their history, it has to hurt seeing him so close to someone that she hates after he helped her. I hope they have dialogue about that...other than sharing Michael's role in the Kyle custody battle.

And the other day, Diane made another snide comment about winning Jack over to her side. And, Diane said she can’t believe there is anything romantic going on. Phyllis said nothing because Diane said, you aren’t denying it. So Diane is still trying to figure out what is going on between Jack and Phyllis. Then, she spies the kiss at the elevator. Diane has no idea what goes on behind closed doors between Jack and Phyllis.

No she does not have a point. Jack clearly made up his own mind, walked into Phyllis' room and into her bed. I didn't see Phyllis manipulating him in any way. HEe seemed to be very eager to enter that room!
Diane is a jealous witch. She couldn't tell the truth if her life depended on it. I keep hoping that this time she really does die.

CashierJudy Who said there was manipulation involved? Phyllis gets even more riled up by Diane then you seem to be lol. It's funny the way she's able to get to her so easily.

DallasGal when Amanda repeatedly teased and questioned Phyllis about getting it on with Jack, Phyllis repeated denied she was interested in anything but a friendship with him. To me that’s saying she didn’t want a romantic relationship. She doesn’t want to risk losing a friend and thinks she will otherwise because she’ll end up hurting him. Kind of anvil for the future. Lots of “friends” don’t get involved romantically for the same reason so it’s understandable. Kevin and Mariah were another example where it got awkward.
As for Nick when it came down to it he was happy being casual, having sex all the time, but she saw it wasn’t going to end in marriage which made her feel less loved and set her off in Jack’s adoration direction. Yet she didn’t want to get romantic until Diane came back into Jack’s life. Jack her Best Friend she wants all to herself. Phyllis doesn’t really share friends. She likes to be their center of attention.
I see Phyllis as someone who can’t help but flirt with any guy pretty much. Likely her insecurity and wanting to prove to herself she is someone who can win a guy over another woman based on her past breaking up couples. Have to say she was laying on the “Blue Eyes” pretty heavily yesterday with Jack. She loves to play temptress.Last edited by TunerEyes; May 20, 2022, 12:33 PM.

@TunerEyes
Fair enough on how you interpret Phyllis’ denials to Amanda. I see it differently. For all the complaints about the writing I feel it’s always a good thing when it’s not black and white. Or, when I can debate both sides. There are posters who think Phyllis just loves Jack as a friend but I think it’s real love.
There are posters (not saying you mentioned it) who say that it’s always about sex with Phyllis. Well, she had gone 6 months and I bet if she really wanted it then Jack would have been ready. Why not friends with benefits? I think Phyllis wants more than that option or she would have stayed with Nick. And, I don’t see anything wrong with Phyllis being drawn to a person who adores her, as Jack clearly adores Phyllis. All women should be so lucky.
Phyllis flirts with who she is with. She hasn’t flirted with anyone other than Nick and Jack. Again, what is wrong with flirting and being playful. Not only is it Phyllis’ personality, it’s healthy. She is not out flirting with random men,

This is Diane being... Diane, tbh. She mostly said that to get back at Phyllis. She knows if she pisses off Jack, things could go south for her and Kyle. Had Jack and Phyllis not been denying their feeling for one another for the last while, Diane COULD have had a valid point. Be we all know she doesn't.
Don't get me wrong, I am not defending Diane. I am just pointing out this is... believable and plausible for her to say all of this. (I haven't seen today's episode yet).

Diane isn't wrong. Sure she's a devious creep, but her read on the situation was bang on. If Jack were sharper and more perceptive, he'd already know that, but not care. He'd actually thank Diane for giving Phyllis the encouragement she needed to sleep with him.

This is what's frustrated me SO MUCH about Jack in recent years. He's been written to have dropped double digit IQ points. Were he being written with the intelligence he had when Terry Lester's days, or Peter Bergman's time when Bill Bell was still writing, he'd know that what Diane was saying was the truth, and wouldn't look like a deer caught in headlights so damn often anymore.

All the above comments are making a statement for sure...but...the whole thing boils down to Diane. She returned and vowed she had no intent to cause any harm and yet,,,there she goes, making comments on things that are none of her business and slinking around in places that do not concern her.. Her goal...she claims... is to reconnect with Kyle. So why is she inserting her opinions into everyone else's affairs?
