Why was there fake cheering and applause at the wedding?

For Y&R, the wedding crowd wasn't too small so why add the fake cheering and applause.

I loved the ceremony but yes, the sweetening of the sound was distracting and unnecessary.

Yes, I noticed that as well. I kept looking at the people as the camera panned by them and didn't see a single person hooting and hollering. LOL

I thought the ending to the wedding when Noah punched up the music was very
uncomfortable for everyone. Tessa and Mariah were never that comforable with
each other. More forced cause Mariah put Tessa in a heck of a spot to be her
girlfriend. Showing up at concerts etc.

I've often wondered what transpires among the actors in scenes where many of them are in the background, like a wedding or a large party. They appear to be conducting in animated discussion, often smiling, chatting playfully, etc....but are they still "in character" or are they making fun, as themselves, of all the silliness of the plot-line going on around them? I could just imagine Jeanne Cooper in the background, cracking-wise and making everyone desperately trying to hold it in.

Unrelated...what was with that makeup on the younger women? Faces with sparkles...ugh! Eyelids plastered with glow paint? Double ugh! Maybe it's a new product..."Radioactive, By Jabot"?

The real indignity against Tessa and Mariah was not allowing them to get married in an actual church. Instead they had it in some mediocre banquet hall. It's like the writers don't take this couple seriously. I could tell from the decorations and lighting that TPTB wanted the ceremony to look more like a Valentine's Day party than an actual wedding. There were no veils, no bridal party, no nothing. As for the above comments about Noah, I think he is secretly still mad at Tessa for choosing Mariah over him. That was also behind his insensitive comment about the Abbotts.

But the venue fit their personalities, and many people marry in places other than a church. Plus, a church set would have had to be added if they chose that route.

I never heard of Mariah's and Tessa's unique personalities till the wedding planning got started - then there were many suggestions out of the blue. Why should 70s glam suit them? They don't dress uniquely (normally) or decorate their apartment uniquely - they aren't animal activists or involved in other causes that I know of.
Tessa's singing career could have been part of it? What does Mariah do at work - have we ever seen her there?
I enjoyed the wedding Kyle set up for him and Lola better.

I don't know why the choice of venue w/b considered an "indignity" and it was hardly a "mediocre banquet hall" - it was Top of the Tower for heavens sake. Abby got married in the same venue when she married Stitch. There have been several Y&R weddings that have taken place in venues other than a church.

I just didn't get the whole wedding in terms of the number of guests. Is it because of COVID that they limited the number of people? Chelsea made the brides dresses, but didn't attend? Victor and Nikki didn't attend...Victoria didn't attend...Michael and Lauren...It was a bit lame IMO. I really loved Sharon's dress. Nick was fun. And I sincerely hope they decided to pair Noah with Allie and not Crystal. I hope Crystal is not sticking around. She seems to young and flighty to be paired with Noah.

I couldn't tell where they were? Was that supposed to be Top of the Tower? Or was it, in fact, some made up venue?
