I am grateful to Y& R today for allowing Tessa and Mariah to get hitched

After all the botched weddings and UnWeddings we have had to endure, or murderers lurking as waitresses, killers in the midst-- I'm grateful that
Y&R allowed Tessa and Mariah to get hitched in a gorgeous and fun way, where everyone is happy for them and Noah does a spectacular job.
Even if Diane crashed the wedding, she kept a low profile, and for once although Phyllis spotted Diane lurking, she was self controlled enough to
    occupy Jack and warn him.
    A thorough pleasure to watch.

They do seem to be having fun. What I don’t get though is don’t weddings usually have someone at the door to keep uninvited people like Diane from crashing the event?

That is a good point. Especially at a posh venue like TOTT.

It's a soap wedding, there HAS to be at least one or two uninvited guests.

This episode was fun! I don't know why Nicki and Victor aren't there...but outside of that it looks like they had fun filming!

Remember this is Sharon's daughter and Mariah's situation working for Victor when she came to town.
Also, SC and EB do not share a lot of scenes.

I never noticed that Sharon didn't share many scenes with EB. I wonder why that's the case. I know that Nicki and Victor had a close relationship with Cassie, and given how important this was to Nick, I'd assumed that they'd be there. I mean Jack was invited and outside of work, he also has no direct relationship with the bride and bride.

@ thecourt99--you have to read EB Bio. I cannot explain on the forum.

My least favorite couple on the show is Tessa and Mariah. They were never developed well, in my opinion. That said, I enjoyed today's episode more than any other in recent memory. I almost didn't watch because of "Messa/Tariah," but I'm glad I didn't skip it now. I wish every episode was as well planned and thought out.

They were VERY well developed...it took them 5 YEARS to get to this point. If that's not slowly well developed, I don't know what is.

They were one of the few couples on here that were very developed and went through ups and downs but made it back to each other. I find them a very believable and solid couple for that reason.

I also thought Victor and Nikki would have been there. It was nice that Allie went but the thing I did not like at all was Diane showing up. Could we not have had one day without her spoiling something? I did not see that she was necessary at all, now she's demanding to see Summer. She can see her the next day. I thought that just completely spoiled things.

Victor and Nikki aren’t close to Mariah and aren’t her family so I didn’t expect them there at all. Mariah isn’t a Newman like her sister Cassie was. I know Nikki and Tessa somewhat were close years ago but they haven’t shown them with the Newman family really other than Shick and their kids… I mean that’s technically Mariah’s whole family pretty much and I was happy to see Jack and Devon and Elena and their significant others as well as Chole and Kevin and Michael… all in all I think Mariah had all the right people attending her wedding. I also though hated seeing Diane show up… she’s such a thorn in Kyle and Jacks side and I see she’s going to be a problem for Kyle and His wife Summer unfortunately

I was just thinking how nice the wedding was. I can't remember the last time where a wedding was an event on a soap. They're all so rushed or obliterated (or a contrived plot point) over the past decade.

It was nice and refreshing. It seemed like the cast and crew had a lot of fun doing this.

Even with the unnecessary snark and attitude from Mariah I still managed to enjoy the show… it was a nice break from the depressing episodes of Rey’s death and the car accident and Ashlands deception reveal Its nice to see Sharon and Jack and the others all happy and smiling and enjoying themselves! Been awhile since the cast has come together for a celebration like this.

Great wedding. It was fun. Good interactions. Loved Kevin/Chloe scenes. Loved Mariah/Tessa/Summer scenes.

I thought it was very nice. A couple of things I didn't like (Diane) but the event itself was really nice. I don't think Victoria's was even close. Too much drama in hers and too much focus on other characters. This one seemed like a whole event for a lot of people and looked like they all had a lot of fun.

I agree with Devon, every wedding should be a themed wedding because I enjoyed the whole setup and the attires somewhat. It was supposed to be 70s, right? I remember Nick using all those 70s catch phrases. They should have gone all out with the 70s theme.

It took me awhile to warm up to Tessa. It was a fun, loving and lovely wedding. I teared up throughout most of the episode with happy tears because it was so sweet. Camryn was awesome as usual and it was nice to see her play Mariah let her tough side down and be happy and heartfelt.

I suppose using actual ‘70s dance music was beyond their budget. Otherwise, I enjoyed it. Although Noah was wearing a bit too much mascara.

I am very glad no one wore John Travolta's white polyester suit, and that Moses only did a little parody of him. That really ended the seventies in 1977.
I cringed when Nick said "groovy".

I adored Saturday Night Fever. I saw it 6 times in the theater. I lived vicariously through that film as my small Bible Belt town had no discos.
Disco was considered gay music where I was. (Little did they know I was queer!)
Just country music honky tonks. I have the album on CD and still play it. I was watching Y&R during that time and don’t recall Genoa City having a disco as Port Charles and other soap towns had at the time.

I loved the wedding despite the fact that I hated the 70s theme. But the wedding itself brought me to tears for a moment, and I almost never cry, especially over things that are fake. I liked Elena's dress, but don't think it was 70s. So far, I'm not enthused with the new Summer, but I'll get used to her. Hate Diane sneaking in. Hate the character.
