Refresh my memory: Why is Mariah being so pissy to Summer?

If anything Mariah should be THANKING Summer because it was Summer who told Kyle to stay for Mariah’s wedding… Kyle was wanting to leave and return to his wife in Italy! I don’t get her attitude with Summer… if it wasn’t for Summer Kyle wouldn’t be officiating this wedding! Nobody knows really why Mariah acts the way she does … she’s just always had a crappy attitude really for no reason at all it seems now all these years and it still makes no sense. Her BFF Abby was ten times worse to her in the past then Summer ever was but for some reason she continues to be nasty to Summer… not sure if it’s jealousy or insecurities or what… but something drives Mariah’s attitude and imo it’s time she knock it off. Summer is married to Mariah’s buddy Kyle so at the very least out of respect for him she should stop with the attitude. I’m sure Mariah wouldn’t appreciate if Kyle was constantly snotty to Tessa and called her names… was hoping since Summer has matured that they finally would mature Mariah who’s a good 6 yrs or more older than Summer
hopefully they’ll have her mature to adulthood before she and Tessa become parents?

I thought it was horrible and disgusting. I thought she might have been just kidding around and they would have hugged but Mariah was even worse than she was before with her. I didn't like that at all. Maybe Kyle should man up and tell Mariah to grow up, this is his wife and she was being nice.Comment

Mariah and Summer have always been pissy to each other. It's not just Mariah. Summer is a spoiled, entitled brat and Mariah had an awful childhood where she learned who be wary of. They didn't hit it off and have always been at odds with each other. New Summer is being written as a "nice" person in her first episode... she's nothing like the previous pouty brat.Comment

TunerEyes but Summer was in fact invited to the wedding… by Mariah and that was said in a few episodes before when she told Kyle Summer needs to come to the wedding after she encouraged Kyle to stay in town and officiate the wedding. I’m just over the attitude in general form Abby, Mariah and unnecessary comments by Summer as well… it’s just uncalled for at this point.. out of the 3 Summer is the youngest however the other two act just as immature at times.. I’d hope since all 3 are married and one is a step mom, one’s a new mom and one is wanting to become a mom… that they all act more mature moving forward -
Summer started it first as usual . Summer to me is low class who insults a bride on their wedding day . I will tell u who a low class old washed up bully ! LOL she cant Bully Mariah like the guy who jumped to his death because of Summer (darn i forgot his name ) ???

It's gotten really old and petty. Even on her wedding day Mariah can't be gracious. And as was said Kyle would not have married them if it were not for Summer. This is part of what annoys me about Mariah. And she had no reason to call Summer out when she was speaking to everyone.Comment

If Summer was so changed and gracious why make the comment she did about Mariah’s dress? Who but Summer would say something like that to the bride on her wedding day? I’m sure she wasn’t exactly invited by choice to the wedding and Mariah would have been happier if Summer had to stay in Milan for her job. So for her to comment on anything about the girls’ wedding was very tacky. -

Mariah it seems is the same nasty and mean girl she’s always been… unlike Summer and others it seems they haven’t matured Mariah at all since she came on years ago
it’s a shame really and it’s why I just can’t like Mariah… she makes it so hard when she’s such an absolute witch for no reason! Mariah should be thanking Summer instead of calling her out since Kyle wouldn’t have even stayed and officiated Teriahs wedding if Summer hasn’t suggested it… and I don’t blame Kyle… Summer is sweet and I’d be in a hurry to leave town and get back to her as well if I were in his shoes!

What happened? Did time, distance, and Sally make the heart grow fonder for Summer?
Summer had her own issues with plenty of people on the canvas before she left. Those issues don't magically go away when she returns. Even if she says she's changed, relationships with people don't automatically change without some type of conversation or something.
As I type this....this may end up connecting Diane with Summer. Them both changing while away from them and them wanting second chances.Comment

Did Summer really come to GC this to make Mariah’s day? Doubt it. So don’t think framing this as some viewers are implying here is some sacrifice she made out of the goodness of her heart is really accurate. She also knows that Kyle wanted to do this for Mariah. Summer likely wanted to come home and be with Kyle and family and get a feel for new and improved Diane who was now back in Kyle’s life if he opens up to her.Last edited by TunerEyes; May 17, 2022, 03:32 PM. -
I’m not implying anything other than what was show and said on screen… Kyle said His wife Summer encouraged him to stay when he wanted to leave and return to her in Italy! So yes… Mariah should be thankful to summer and at the very least knock of her childish attitude and act like the older adult she is supposed to be… here’s hoping Mariah matures with marriage as much as Kyle and Summer have … lord knows her attitude can’t get any worse at this point.

The scenes were cringe worthy. And, I include both Mariah and Summer. Plus, Abby. She needs to stop with insulting her own niece and it was Abby who slept with Summer’s husband.
Another bad moment was Mariah’s snark in front of Allie and Jack. Why these people think it’s a good idea to run Summer down in front of her family. Too bad someone didn’t tell Allie that Mariah gaslighted her own mother.
I just wish the writers would acknowledge these women are not teenagers by moving on.Comment

Mariah & Summer have always had an antagonistic relationship, but I honestly didn't understand why Mariah was being so snarky. Summer has been out of town for a while now, her husband officiated the wedding, & she was being super-polite to the happy couple. What was with Mariah's attitude towards her? Just say "thank you" & move on....Comment

Tessa took the high road by saying just that to Mariah but still had to act like a 5 year by holding her breath to say, thank you.

Yes please… I mean they had Mariah and Abby gang up and be mean to Abby when Lola was in town and that always made me mad the way they’d bully Summer but Lola is gone and isn’t coming back so knock the ridiculous childish attitude off already… Abby is a mother for gods sakes and Mariah just got married … why do they still write these two as spoiled brats who are like toddlers with an attitude

Then all of a sudden she acts pissy towards Summer when Summer tries to congratulate her and Tessa on their marriage. Time....Summer's been gone for a while. Distance...Summer has been out of the country. What does it have to do with anything? Why do people expect that Mariah's issues would automatically disappear just because Summer's been gone a while. Mariah can know what Summer said and know that she was coming and still be taken aback by actually seeing her. Also, Abby also had side eye at the mention of Summer's name, so clearly those issues are being revived too.
The idea of a thing and the reality of a thing can sometimes result in different responses. It is what it is.

She encouraged her husband Kyle to put off his trip to return to her and instead stay and officiate his friend Mariah’s wedding ( even though Mariah has always been so nasty to her in the past ) Summer put Mariah and Tessa’s happiness before hers there so I think that shows maturity and also the fact that she showed up and congratulated the happy couple as well… the fact is Summer has been shown acting more mature… again still waiting for Mariah to grow up -
As I mentioned above in more detail to how I see it, I don’t think Summer changing her plans about coming to GC was altruistic. No reason at all to think so. There were other more believable reasons as I mentioned and wouldn’t be so unlike Summer to want to appear like she did this so Mariah could have Kyle officiate although I don’t think she has thrown out her telling Kyle to stay to anyone unless I missed something.

They did and the only hangup Mariah still had with Summer before HK left was that she had called off the engagement with Kyle and broke his heart… now that Summer and Kyle have been happily married for awhile now it makes no sense for the attitude still from Mariah… if Kyle is truly her friend she’d be happy for him and respectful of his wife.. not to mention yes they share siblings as well so no reason for the attitude. As for Abby… she’s a lost cause imo… Abby was the one who betrayed her own family by sleeping with her niece Summers husband … the hate for Summer from Abby has never made sense… pure childish attitude -
I’m sure both Abby and Mariah feel that if not for Summer Kyle would have stayed married to Lola. She pretty much left town shortly after Kyle married Summer and we know the divorce really hurt her. And even after Kyle married Summer, Summer spied on Kyle and Lola thinking he still wanted her. Like who needs to hang with someone like that? So Mariah lost a good friend in Lola and same for Abby although she also lost her chef. Definitely Lola’s choice to leave town but both ladies knew the circumstances.

I can understand because of the past with Lola and all but I mean she’s gone and hasn’t been on the show for awhile…. Kyle moved on years ago and is happily married to Summer… time for Abby , Mariah and Summer all to move forward and leave the past where it is imo. Abby and Summer are family in more ways then one now since Summer is an Abbott through marriage and also Mariah and Summer share a brother and sister so there’s no reason they can’t all be civil at least and not so nasty to one another .. all are married women and almost all are mothers in one way or another as well so let go and move on already ladies !!
