Here we are with a forty- something lady, who has several past marriages, three children and the Newman family is doing an intervention like she is
addicted to Ashland Locke.

Well, someone has to do something because Ashland is on the verge of making a move. Tuscany? Now? As I just commented in another thread, the guy is itching to become a widower.
Victor not even a year ago, made darn sure that nothing and nobody, including Gaines, would interrupt his daughter's nuptials in Tuscany.
He behaved like a Godfather. Nicki was complicit. Nick was shut out. Adam was a Go-boy with Gaines. Sally crashed the wedding with
"SuperDress". 15 minutes later it is all down to a family intervention.

Well Victoria seems to be addicted, she believes whatever this liar tells her. She briefly sees a tiny bit of a red flag and slams the door on it instead of investigating it's validity. She's desperate for happiness since she and Billy went so wrong. She could have seen the truth long ago if she had done something to keep his paws off of Newman. He may have lost interest in the marriage if she said no merger. He went after Newman because of what Victor did to him while he was having a heart attack. He may love Victoria somewhat but it seems rather conditional to me. He's a polished liar.
IMO Victoria is 'believing' what Ashland tells her because of her overwhelmingly deep seated pride. There's no mistake she'll admit to and marrying/believing his lies is the biggest mistake that shows how vulnerable she is when managing a huge conglomerate (or anything at all, even her kids lives for the sake of the love of a man). I think she's half way there and needs something concrete to push her over to seeing how she's being manipulated.
It’s probably why Victor won’t let Adam take advantage of the situation because he is complicit.
The best thing Victor could do is tell Victoria and Adam you both work together or you are both out. At this point his company would be better run by Nick...who wants no part of it.
The good ole days had the Newmans at NE and the Abbotts at Jabot. I have no idea why the show thinks it makes good drama to have Nick sitting at CL drinking coffee. The 3 should be altogether causing drama at NE.
Well, considering Vicky's been gunning for Adam and she plotted with that lying snake of a spouse to professionally ruin him, I'd say Adam has every right to be there, And last time I checked, Adam is as much a Newman as Vicky, Nick and Abby. Maybe even more so legally.

Reason: Not the character's name.
Adam is resentful of Victoria and wants her deposed as his boss, so the idea that he is part of this intervention is ludicrous.
I don’t think Adam has a pure heart either but Victor couldn’t keep him in the dark. Nick stomped on Adam by saying something like, “I don’t care about NE but I care about my sister”.
Easy for Nick to take that position since he divested himself of any part of NE over and over. Adam and Victoria do see a future in the family company and want to be a part of it.
As for Adam being part of the “intervention”, well he is family and involved with a part of the company that is now in jeopardy. He also was played by Chelsea and pretty blind to her plotting because he felt guilty because of her fall in the elevator that triggered her needing surgery and subsequent state in the wheelchair. But he got smart and caught on to her. He still had trouble cutting her out of his and Connor’s lives because of his feelings for her and his guilt, so I can see he has something in common with Victoria.
TunerEyes I disagree that it's easy for Nick since he stepped away from the company. This stuff is precisely WHY he stepped away from the company. He knows of what he speaks because Victor did this to him and Victoria when they were younger and he stepped away because his heart isn't in corporate and because his relationship with Victoria was more important than the games that Victor liked to play.
I understand why the Newman family are intervening with Victoria. I just hope they can talk some sense into her before Ashland gets her on that Jet and gets her away from her family and she is never heard of again.
Victoria is too quick to take Ashland's word for everything he says. You can clearly see she has some doubts about Ashland but he has a way of taking those doubts from her and getting her to see things from his point of view which is dangerous.
When enough credible people tell you something about a person, there is always some truth to it and because of that, Victoria should do some investigating of her own into her husband and these claims brought against him before she is so quick to just take his word for it considering his history of lying and criminal behavior.
I as well was so happy to see Adam included in the family intervention. He really showed his support of Victoria today. I loved how he shared his own story of betrayal from Chelsea, someone he thought would never betray him like that. I don't think any of the other Newman's expected to hear that from Adam.

Victoria has always been strong willed and she has a lot of pride which I think is her downfall. She is digging in because it’s turned into “us against the world”. The problem is Victoria is not a teenager or young adult. She has years of relationship experience and she has caught Ashland in many lies so this trust she has in him now is crazy.
It feels like Victoria has doubts but she is so darn stubborn that she is clinging to Ashland so no one in the family says, I told you so.

I agree with you DallasGal about Victoria being strong willed and prideful. Her pride won't let her see the truth that's staring her right in the face. Her pride keeps her from accepting the truth her family is presenting to her about her husband.
Like the Proverbs say, "Pride comes before the fall!" Victoria quite possibly will suffer big time for allowing her pride to get in the way of good judgment and that's just so unfortunate.
I say let her fall flat on her face…the only reason she is CEO is that she threatened Victor he wouldn’t be allowed in her or her kids lives ever again. Victor should give her la boote royale and hand the reigns over to Nick and Adam. But don’t worry..not gonna happen.
But that's not the complete picture. She earned her position of CEO over years of hard work both in and out of NE. The threat to Victor was related to her being sick of Victor putting her in a position and then holding it over her head with a removal threat when she does something that he doesn't like, which is what he'd done all her life. She didn't want that cycle to continue. She wanted to be able to run the company in peace. I didn't think that request was unreasonable then, and I still don't.
I respectfully disagree. She is nothing but a spoiled BRAT. She is the grown version of Veruca Salt on Willie Wonka. See ‘I Want It All” on youtube from WW.
