What will Devon do if real life happens to him, such as a crisis with his business or a family member gets sick or dies, or if Moses starts acting out as a teenager, playing loud music, being rebellious, or if Amanda’s ex boyfriend is released from prison and starts coming around again, you know the guy that stabbed Victoria mistaking her for Amanda, will he see negative energy then? Yes, I know the writers are writing the Winters/Hamilton characters as perfect people but life is not like that, and this is a soap opera where angst and drama should occur, so Devon’s life shouldn’t go so smoothly and perfect without angst and negative energy, if so, then this character is irrelevant for a soap opera. I just wish the writers write the story fair and let Devon see that things happen in life and are not always perfect, since he likes to throw the words negative energy at Abby/Chance. If Dominic was just born when Neil died and he was grieving would he have thought, oh wow my home has a lot of negative energy? Or even when Amanda was constantly being angry, shouting or moping about her woes with her family, did he think that was positive energy? I’m sick of Devon acting like he’s so perfect. This is Devon’s first time ever at being a parent so why are the writers acting like Devon is a know it all when it comes to parenting? It makes me sick.

Something needs to happen to Devon and it brings negative energy into his home?

It bothered me that Devon was the one who encouraged Chance to go for counseling because he thought Chance was having a negative affect on Dom's life, and now he's concerned that the counseling will be having a negative affect on Dom's life. Choose a lane, Devon, or just admit that you want full custody of Dominic and stop playing games.

I would love it if his mother Harmony(?) returned and moved in with him. Let her be seriously Ill (so he feels he can’t throw her out) but also self medicating with drugs and alcohol. Let her be deeply depressed and struggling with mental health issues in his home around Dom. Would Devon then realize that “negative “ energy can happen anywhere to anyone? Would he finally get that a person needing help should be supported not punished? IDK but I would love to see him face a family crisis that is messy.

"negative energy" is the new "we were robbed" from over on the B&B (B&B watchers will know what I mean)
Im glad nobody has made it a drinking game yet!!! I don't need the hangover!!

Yes totally! We were robbed, my destiny, and negative energy are words I could do without hearing ever again! This storyline has turned Devon to a character I despise whereas before I adored him. He keeps going on and on about it when his girlfriend is pure negative energy. She seems to push Devon to want more and more.

Devon has been acting like his life and home are totally nurturing and without conflict. While it may be true at this moment, it's not true of his own history. He should recognize that's what life is about for everyone, including couples with new babies. We don't expect them to give away their children until they smooth out all of the "negative energy".

Honestly, having Harmony/Yolanda return would be a bridge too far. She wasn't bad when John F. Smith brought her on Show, but when MAB got her hands on the Hamilton's, tossing Ana and Tyra onto the tire fire, Harmony was a pointless antagonist and emotional mess. Thankfully the three wandered off to offend no more.
I've been shrugging at Devon for years. He was dropped into the Winters' family as a street kid that had no smarts. His biological family was stereotypically chaotic, and he was discovered to be Tucker McCall's son, wining the Genoa City Billionaire Lottery when Katherine Chancellor died. As a billionaire opportunity regularly knocked on his door, and he bought into them, having family take on their management. Devon's only direct business pursuit was the music group, and that doesn't generate many dynamic episodes.
But let Devon heedlessly donate some sperm to produce a child he signs away his parental rights and privileges toward and he's breaking contracts, demanding full access, entitlements and charging ahead with the threat of a lawsuit to take possession of Bowie.
I'm of the Soap school when common practice in the real world or common sense isn't followed in a SL, folly will come back to drop an anvil and ruin everyone's day.
I'm hoping the breadcrumbs and telegraphing left by TPTB will prove Devon is not the biological father and Stitch switched Devon's sperm with his own because he needed a biological match for Max. When Chance realizes the purpose for Stitch kidnapping Mariah, he finally acts like a trained soldier/detective, picking up the investigation to eventually arrest Stitch.

Devon was on anti anxiety meds when Ana was around. Remember he was getting panic attacks and couldn't function in work meetings and she covered for him?
But now he is using Chance's trauma against him in the worst way.
He's a raging hypocrite. 0

Devon's already "been through something," if one counts being abandoned by one's unfit biological mother and never knowing who one's father is. This stays with and shapes one for life, even if one is later adopted into a loving family. "Later" love affords one some DESERVED human peace, comfort, and an example to follow when one is fighting against their residual dysfunctional "stuff." NOBODY IS PERFECT nor flawless...
Maybe Chance understands/accepts/identifies w/Devon, as a flawed human being. He ALSO was abandoned by HIS father, which he has mentioned as a residual issue w/him. Except that in Chance's case, the abandonment was willing and aforethought. IMO, this is an underlying issue with Chance which has been triggered by his PTSD AND Dominic's existence. THIS is why he's practically SHOVED Dominic onto Devon, consciously or unconsciously. In his own way, he's BOTH trying to protect the child (from himself) AND allow the child to have an ACTIVE, ENGAGED father in his little life. I really like nu-Chance's portrayal of the character! He emotes very well! I hope that Chance's OWN issues w/abandonment are raised while he's receiving therapy.
These are just some observations of this storyline/the characters involved. The hatred for Devon's character is over the top, imo, when EACH character involved in the story is flawed w/shortcomings, in their own individual way. The important priority should be that Dominic isn't denied ANY of the love and security that he is ENTITLED to, just for being born. JMHO

From what we've been shown, both with Chance MIA and with him at home, Dom has continued to be surrounded with love and security, even without additional time spent with Devon. It appears to me that Devon is the one who needs the love from Dom rather than the other way around. JMHOLast edited by RedheadTeacher; March 14, 2022, 08:48 AM.
