OP - your comment about Phyllis has been made before by others but I don't understand why it is said. Why is this pairing looked down upon?

Not unless Jack becomes Jack in business, with a spine wheeling and dealing and part of the mix. I dont want them together.
Grampa Jack and Gramma Phyllis while cute is not riveting TV. Phyllis is to vibrant a character to just lounge around a hotel lobby and share Harrison stories with Jack.

Thanks for the response Sara.
Jack has been sidelined since Kyle and Summer left for Milan. And, Phyllis hasn't been doing much even when she was with Nick. Phyllis has been out of TGP more since she broke up with Nick in mid-Novermer.
I agree the show needs to use Jabot. I wish Jack still had his office and was there instead of talking about a lunch meeting. Jack should be seen in that same capacity as they write Victoria and Ashland.
Phyllis and Jack are grandparents which is a fact of life. I don't see anything wrong with that role. However, I would like to see a romance and Phyllis admitted she wants one with Jack. He lights up when she enters the room. And she looked very happy to see him.
These characters are on contract so I don't see them fading away. But, I would like for the writers to move these two beyond "small talk" . So, I agree with you again about not too much talk about Harrison.

Thanks for your perspective. Here’s what I am thinking.
Phyllis just told Summer that she wasn’t ready to start anything right now after the breakup with Nick; which happened in early Nov. Phyllis doesn’t sound desperate because she would have jumped at the chance to be with Jack because she knows he loves her. If she wanted a thrill then why not move to Milan and date all the sexy
Italian men? Phyllis would have no problem finding a man in Italy.
Will Phyllis hurt Jack? Maybe.
Will Jack hurt Phyllis? Maybe.
Love is always a leap of faith.

Dallas gal good analysis. I think it's sweet that Phyllis cares enough about Jack to fear hurting him. I just want Phack if they last, and they become partners in busness and can compete against Newman and Chancellor.

I'm just not impressed with Phyllis this time around. Back when MS started, before she was replaced, she really had chemistry with Nick. Now, I don't see chemistry with anyone. At least she has a friend in Amanda.
Jack deserves better. He will be faithful to whomever he ends up with.

I find Jack to be a bore these days. He has no purpose, no story, nothing, and hasn't for a really long time. The last time I found him compelling was during the whole blood-Abbott stuff - when he was fighting for his company and his identity and place in the family. Though that story wasn't perfect, it at least kept him as a player. Since then, he's just done nothing but look sad and lonely.
I agree that Phyllis is too vibrant for this sad-sack, lonely version of him. If they are going to revive him and make him a force to be reckoned with again, then I'm all for the pairing. If he's just going to be a guy who sits around and looks wistful, then I don't think she's the right fit for him.
