I have been literally hating on Devon these past few weeks but, wow, I have to say, since the last episode yesterday, I almost hope even if it turns out he is not the bio father that Abby keeps him in place in that roll and kicks Chance to the curb. It just hit me even harder. I just can not take this guy anymore. Now he is in tears and flipping out more or less because people are trying to help him. I'm completely sick of him. He is of no value to that already strenuous situation but we all know Devon would be right there.

They both are losers in the father department as far as I'm concerned. Chance, well we all know what's up with him. He cant cope with anything. I dont need to repeat it.
As for Devon, I find him to be so selfish I cant stand him. He goes back on his word about his part in the surrogacy and sues for partial custody. He has no right to do that and yet, here we are, one good lawyer and one lousy lawyer later, and Devon has rights over the child.
Devon is trying to regain the child he lost with Hilary. What a burden to give Dominic. Devon should have known better than to donate his sperm. Im sure he full well knew that he could not walk away from his biological child. Did you hear him making plans already for Dom, you know, playing ball and doing this or that? Devon sickens me. I am beyond done with him.
And what about Moses? We dont even see Devon with Moses who he is supposed to be looking after. Let him be a father to him like he's supposed to.
If he wants a biological child, let him do it like every one else, with his wife. There should not be special rules for Devon Hamilton, billionaire, backstabber, cheater, sleaze and vengeful twit. -
Chance has been written unrealistically since his return. Yes I know supposedly he has PTSD, but they even took his spine away. No man would have let Devon walk all over him and his wife, no matter what. I think it's pure comedy when they constantly have Chance & Abby thank him.
But today we saw Chance finally starting to become human today. I think every time Devon is the picture Chance will continue to be diminished to accommodate him, because IMO is Devon writer's pet character. So no man on set is going to be a better father than the super dad of all times Devon. The best we can hope for in that situation is they find out Abby is not the mother because she is constantly diminished as a mother for Devon too. Chance would be a fine father if Devon wasn't the opposing character. Let Abby & Chance have their very own miracle baby and it would be fine.
Without Devon, Abby and Chance work well, and Chance works well as a character with all the other characters he's been put in scenes with. Rey & Chance were allowed to fight, there would be no problem with Chance vs Adam, or Chance vs. Billy. Chance can be at odds with anyone on canvas but Devon. No one is allowed to be at odds with Devon. They all become passive in his presence.Comment

Neither one of them. Chance doesn't want to be a father, I know he is dealing with PTSD which is very difficult but why is he so resistant against getting help. He was more concerned about having date nights with Abby when Dom would go for overnight at Devon. If he wants to be a father, I would think he would want to do whatever it takes to get better so he can be there for his boy.
Devon is selfish and he always puts his needs above everyone else. Devon wasn't thinking about Dom when he threatened Abby with going to court for increased visitation with Dom. He did it for himself not for Dom because he got jealous when he saw Chance share a nice moment with Dom at Society. If Devon was thinking of Dom, he would have thought about what that meant for Dom. Taking a child out of his surroundings at such a young age is not a good idea. Dom was not abused or in any danger for Devon to take such a drastic step. Abby is a great mother, there was no need for Devon to do that.Comment

Ok I see the let's hate on Devon contingent is still out in full force. You would think nobody in GC has done anything worse than Devon. Because he was concerned about his child because he gets one night a week with his child and people act as if he is walked into the Chancellor Manse grabbed up Dominic walked out and said he is taking full custody of Dom. He was good enough to take care of Dom when Abby went to find Chance and had to basically browbeat to get him to come home to his family! When Chance was gone Abby was calling Devon all hours of day and night whenever she couldn't handle the baby! Now that Chance is back and so far refuses to get help for his PTSD that may have something to do with him not bonding with the baby it's Go away Devon you are not needed well you won't be once you donate your bone marrow after that not pass go do not collect $200 maybe he should be locked up out in jail for the audacity of changing his mind about being involved in his son's life. Hey why doesn't somebody go find Stitch and maybe he is the daddy cause even the man who kidnapped Mariah while she was pregnant with Dom is supposed to be more preferable as a father?

For everything that Mariah has been through and done for the baby, they basically gave her the "Go away you are not needed anymore" speech and she had to accept it and she DID accept it and moved on... Why shouldn't Devon?? Mariah went through far worse and actually carried and bonded with the baby in utero. I'd say that trumps whatever "bond" Devon has made with Dominic. Truthfully, I could understand Mariah's attachment much more!! She suffered terribly when kidnapped and became very attached when it was just her and Dominic for days alone in that room. Her worrying about him, talking to him, trying to keep herself calm for his sake, wanting to do everything to make sure he was okay!! -
Difference is Devon is Dom's biological father and was treated as his father by Abby before Chance got back and bonding with a child before he is born and bonding with a baby that is alive and in your arms is very different. as a mother you do bond with a child before they are born but once they put that child that is part of you in your arms it is a whole different feeling which is what Devon felt when he helped bring Dom into this world -
Wrong, Wrong Wrong henyvo02. Devon is not the father. he is the sperm donor. Anyone that volunteers to donate and signs away his biological rights is not the father. He wanted to do this for Abby and Chance. To help them create a family. I really don't get it. If Chance was in the armed forces and went away on mission, sometimes they are gone for a long time. Sometimes their spouses or significant others have babies while they are deployed and do not get to bond with said child until they get back. The woman relies on friends and families to help them through the absence of their so. Devon has overstepped in so many ways. He is the child's God Father, not his father. Not his dad. Someday Dom will know who helped him come into this world and how he adjusts to that is up to the child, not Devon. Devon was given many privilege's to the raising of this child but all in all, this is Abby's and Chances child and should not be confused. Now, that Devon is probably not the father, see what mess he has created. Chance needs an opportunity to bond with this child and any interference from Devon would be confusing to Dom. why put a child through that. If you love the child you would want the best chance for them to adjust to their family and not grow up confused. Chance and Abby should take an extended vacation with Dom and bond. Maybe they'll come back as a unit instead of this mess that was created.

I heard that too! Made me think that he could potentially be the reason his whole team is dead! I hope that's not the case, but it sure did say that. -
IIRC, Chance did not freeze up. He was entering the "team's" safe house when the explosion occurred, and sustained injuries when he was blown back out of the building. He feels guilty because he survived and there was nothing he could do for his team, who were all killed. It's survivor's guilt coupled w/PTSD from nearly being killed, jmo. He needs PROFESSIONAL help, not talking w/his "partner" nor his wife. -
If he did admit that I believe him because this Chance despite the PSTD is portrayed as weak and kinda dumb. How he was ever hired as some super spy is a mystery.

Devon actually wants the baby. It shouldn't even be a question. I think it's weird to want Dom to have no father rather than the father who was willing to fight for him.Comment

Chance is in shaky emotional shape as a husband, father, soldier and police officer. With Bowie he speaks gently and cuddles the baby. Chance doesn't avoid contact, quite the contrary, he is attentive and concerned about his son, as he tries to support Abby.
Devon has been given wide latitude by TPTB, his family, friends, lawyer, himself and viewers to insert himself in Abby and Chance's family and appropriate Bowie as his son. Ignoring a donor contract as invalid and demanding custody from Abby and Chance was his reward for reanimating his relationship with dead Hillary and child. Devon dotes, spoils, obsesses, hovers over and has Bowie on display in the living room. He and Amanda have made no effort to talk marriage and establish a stable home for Bowie. Moses seems to be raising himself since Devon gained custody. How that makes Devon a better father is clearly a matter of opinion.Comment

Speaking as a nurse........Chance is in denial on his return from h*ll.......He will come around and be a great Father, ONLY if Devon leaves Chance alone by his constantly making Chance feel inferior.Can't stand Devon now..Writers have ruined him... Chance is a veteran, a special agent and a policeman who is suffering from PTSD. He deserves empathy and a chance to be a father without the sperm donor judging him and looking over his shoulder, intimidating him. PTSD doesn't go away just because someone tells you to move on. He has done nothing to harm Dominic and he's been very sweet with him, helping Abby out with his care.Comment

Devon clearly is the better father. Chance wants nothing to do with Dom, he says all the right things but his actions speak much loader. Devon loves the child and he would do anything for him. I don't like how the story has played out because Devon is only the donor and thats the way it should have been. But if we are talking about who is the better father, there is no comparison. Devon is the better father, but unfortunately, he signed a sperm donor agreement and therefore shouldn't have any rights. What a mess.Comment

I hate this whole story. Devon should have no legal rights after what he signed, but this version of Chance is painful to watch. Moping, not getting help, angry. I want Dominic to get healthy and Abby and him to go off to Milan to work with Summer.Comment

I do not like either!! I loved the old Chance and could have gave this one a chance, but the writing for him is terrible! I only like Abby as the Mom!! The other two can go!! Put Rey and Abby together, he would be a good Dad and actually wants children!!Comment
