Why would Lily hire Devon's live in girlfriend as head lawyer? Amanda is going to be loyal to Devon, and Hamilton Winters, over Chancellor every time. Giving Amanda all Chancellor's information is a huge mistake. And why wouldn't Devon hire Amanda at HW?

Why is Lily's first project with Hamilton Winters? Surely a huge company like Chancellor Industries can acquire their own streaming service and keep all the profits for themselves
Not to mention Devon loathes Billy, and trashes him to Lily behind his back as soon as he walk out of the room... on a regular basis. So it's not really a good fit for a partnership.

And streaming podcast is modernization of Chancellor? Every one and their Uncle has a podcast, it's yesterdays news. Jill adding Pharmaceuticals was a big deal. Podcasts? That seems like little league stuff that Chance-com would do. What's next are they going to do next introduce sliced bread? ?

This is so ridiculous. Amanda just opened her private practice but the writers aren’t saying that Amanda will just be the CI lawyer on retainer but she will be inside the legal department.

The surrogate nightmare has gone on for year but Amanda’s story changes practically over night. Can’t she have something apart from Devon?

Billy saying she and her sister will get a big salary. The two of them are making me ill. Billy and Lily
and I hope to see them out on their butts. So stupid anyway. Another totally boring episode. Really
thought Devon not the daddy but he must be. Want this to be over too. Chance still not getting help
is not only dumb but way more dumb than ever. I guess Abby is satisfied with him just sitting home
with her even though he needs help. I can hardly watch anymore.

The show doesn't know how to write for the media and entertainment businesses, which is why they're all so excited about podcasts. LOL

Bringing Amanda (and Imani?) on board sounds like a plot-driven idea to stir up trouble, or to consolidate characters into a few businesses. Makes no sense.

TBH, I don't think that the writers needed to bring back Chancellor Industries. Chancellor was Katherine Chancellor's playground. Without Katherine, who cares about the company? JMHO.

I agree. Too many friends and relatives and nepotism. I guess we are supposed to be on hoard but I'm not. And then Amanda's sister is also allowed to come on board.
Are they all going to cram together in the apartment to work?
Honestly, I don't know why I watch this dumb show anymore except that aim retired and it helps to fill the day.

I'm at the point where I watch because I've been watching for 40 years, and it's just hard to stop. That and we only have 4 soaps left. That being said, today's show ended up being about 10 minutes at most for me, if that, I FF through so much anymore, the writing is so awful.

Every time I see Billy & Lily trying to conduct "business", I just think back to my childhood when we would play-pretend school or the doctor's office. They're always on the phone closing some king of "big deal", they have a laptop & about a million folders open on their desk. The rest of the time they're at Crimson Lights, Society or having sex on every available surface! And now I guess that they want Devon & Amanda to be their new playmates to play pretend with them.

Who would have though Phillip Chancellor IV could not be included in his namesake CHANCELLOR Industries?

-Jill, his grandmother, owns it.
-The original Phillip Chancellor, his grandfather, owned it and ran it until he was murdered by Katherine
-Katherine wanted a Chancellor to run it. She was having Philip III trained/mentored to take it over before he "died". And then when Cane was thought to be Phillip III she put him in charge. She never offered the job to Brock , Mac or even Devon.
-Chance is having PTSD, it's time for him to heal, get therapy, and change careers. No one is even offering him another choice besides the GCPD.
The Jill I know would be enticing him with all sort of offers like she does Billy.


Instead of this fluffy podcast silliness, Chancellor could manufacture drones, or some other cutting edge military technology. It has a factory. Fighter jets? Military installations....CI's past is building/engineering. The Chancellors built the 1st buildings in Genoa City. Chance has connections at the Pentagon he could bring in billions of the military budget for Chancellor Industries.

henyvo02 --But it only takes the stroke of writer's pen to make him move on to something else. The writer's used that pen to give him PTSD, that's the perfect catalyst for him to make a career change. It's common for those in the military to retire on the younger and start something new.

Working at a military division of Chancellor on cutting edge military technology would be much more exciting than crouching behind stinky garbage cans in an alley to catch some stupid office burglars. Rey has nothing to do as it is. It would be a snore for yet another character to do nothing but hang at Crimson Lights. It works for Rey because his wife owns the place so it puts him with his family.

Of course the writers can change all that but it would be a complete rewrite of Chance and what he has always been about and would make no sense .

henyvo02 --I think it makes less sense that someone who has 100s of millions,( if not over a billion $) is still a cop. His family is wealthy too. How many Rockefeller, Walton, Du Pont, Walton, Hearst, Murdock heirs are cops? Sure I get it when he was young, he's going to go for adventure,
service, and sow his wild oats. But at some point he has to realize he can have much more if he wants it. There's more than one way to live an exciting or fulfilling life. If he wants Abby & his family, like he says he does, then he should get out of this dangerous business.

I'm sure most cops in this country would retire, and/or change careers if they were given a billion dollars. If I had a company with my name on it I would figure out how to run it.

It was questionable right in the beginning about Lily running a company of that magnitude. She came on as very inexperienced. Jill is away again apparently and leaving her to do as she pleases. Billy is a bad influence and it appears unless she has him making decisions, he won't be able to cope with her being the boss. I would think someone would have to authorise some of the changes being made, especially a somewhat merger of another rival company. Where is the legal department that should have already been in place.there? With a place of that size, there should be more than one lawyer already. Amanda was very hesitant to take this job and told Lily no several times but then Billy gets involved and promises her everything, even a position for her inexperienced sister and she appears to be jumping on it. I hope the downfall will be Billy being seduced by Imani and the podcast failing, Jill deciding to sell the whole thing and Victor buys it from her, including Devon's failed portion of it

This turn of events is sickening. Amanda just opened a law firm and 5 min later she has landed a huge account, Chancellor Industries. I guess all the big name political clients that Imani was supposed to bring in to make their firm the #1 law firm in town didnt pan out.

I just have to shake my head when I see this kind of thing happen. Amanda is now a top-notch attorney in GC, and her sister, Imani, will no doubt be just as capable as she. They accomplished all this within a month or two of opening their office. Wow! Unbelievable and just ridiculous.

I have been done with Billy and Lily for a while so I'll just add Amanda and Imani to the list of drivel I simply cannot watch any more.

It killed me when she said she didn't go into the office because there were no clients. How idiotic. So you get on the phone and network. You don't stay home and hope they come to you. Anyone who has ever been in any form of business knows that. You have to hustle!

If Amanda's is as smart as I think she is, she should decline the offer. I thought Chancellor Industries had a team of lawyers in place before Lily even came on board... I am quite sure these lawyers that Chancellor employed all these years have done their job well so why does Lily feel the need to change course. May be Imani will talk some sense into Amanda and make her see the light. Their practice seems to be doing well so why mess that up.

She knows Billy during the time of his manic period and I think she realizes she maybe seeing that again. She backed off before and pulled away from him and would be smart to do so again. Especially with a CEO as green and untested as Lily. She’d be better struggling a bit and on her own with her new law firm and training her sister on her own. I get this is to keep the characters all engaged with each other but this is such a bad idea.

I absolutely love this idea!!! Chance needs to get some professional help and he needs a job. Chance is not in any shape to be back on the police force but he would be perfect to use his military background in developing a state-of-art weapon to use to fight terrorism. He can work with some of the best engineers on a cutting edge tool.

Chance has as much experience as anyone including Lily. Chancellor Industries was into tech and engineering and heavy construction stuff anyway I think and not so much gossip and self-help fluff. Manufacturing military equipment would be a perfect fit for Chance but he first needs to grow up a little and get some psych help and maybe a new brain ? and then perhaps he might be able to make it work.

Soapfan54 --Chancellor is hardly an extinct surname. It's the name of a mansion, a company, and more recently a park . Katherine was married to many men over her life, but Phillip's Chancellor is the married name she always wanted to keep. Kay had no children with Phillip Chancellor. You would of thought she would have went back to Reynolds since her son Brock was a Reynolds, or her maiden name Shepard, but no. She wanted Phillip's name and wanted to both descendant's of Phillip ( PHILLIP III & Chance) even though Jill ( then Nina) were the mothers.

The Chancellors founded Genoa City so they will always hold a special a place there. But the most important thing for Chance......
he's PHILLIP CHANCELLOR IV an actual REAL CHANCELLOR! He not married to one, of kind of one, or just associated with one so "technically", or just named one even though he's not biologically one, or any of that nonsense, he's just a real blood Chancellor. The writer's are wasting a descendant of one of the first families of Y&R and it's debut characters.

I kept my married name also, from my first marriage, on through marriage #2 and another child, and I still have it today Sometimes it's about convenience, sometimes it's about spite, and sometimes it's about "I earned it and I'ma keep it!" Kay earned the name Chancellor and it was given to her freely, so why SHOULDN'T she capitalize off of whatever she could get from it? After all, it was HER company that Phillip II built up. Sure he had stock in the company, but the company belonged to Kay. She tried to make it up to her adulterous ex's illegitimate progeny (since she sent him to eternity) and she was very generous, imo. His child and grandchild are set for life due to Kay's generosity.

But we've gone over this already. EVER'THING that Phillip II had, he had because of Kay/Gary. Then, he waited too late to venture out on his own--as he should've immediately--when he took up w/Jill. He should've had the decency to move him/Jill to their OWN spot as soon as he knew that he wanted to be w/her. But I digress, this is about Chance. Chance has the "chance" for a new beginning and to "refresh" the Chancellor name. I look forward to what tptb has in store for his character. 'Cause backtrackin' to retread his granddaddy/daddy's tired footsteps is not the path for him, imo. I can already see that he is TWICE the man his grandfather was AND his father is. I hope that he finds his OWN way...

Lily's not the only one that's hired friends, they all do it. Lauren and Chloe, Adam hiring Chelsea, Nate and Elena, Victor and all his offsprings, etc. Amanda was the atty at Chance.com I thought, so why wouldn't Lily offer her a position. I imagine Lily trust her.

I laughed when Lily proposed this to Amanda. She has barely any real legal work since fleeing her stalker boyfriend and keeping a low work profile as I recall and don’t believe she has any international law background. I have absolutely No idea what Chancellor Industries does but would think a reasonable CEO would want someone with depth in those areas. Yes Lily said it…unorthodox approach.
