I Feel Nothing for Jack and Phyllis

I don’t get it Nick and Phyllis make a good couple. They just needed to be written for.

Now this whole doubt thing from Nick and pushing Phyllis away feels rushed. Phyllis is happy with Nick.

Plus Jack and his lonely sad sack act is annoying and I don’t get how Phyllis feels anything for him outside of pity.

Jack being lonely is getting old, but there has been a slow burn in this story.

For a while now, they've been showing Phyllis confiding in and relating to Jack more. She's been checking in on him and looking out for him as well. Nick is just now starting to notice it.

ITA. It will only alienate Phick fans. IMO the 50+ year old women are being removed from front burner status for younger actresses. JM is still a leading man. It's not fair, but the fact is leading men can keep that status up 55+. With the shortage of men at Y&R, IMO, the writers want him free for Chelsea when she returns. So we could end up with a quad.

IMO Jack and Phyllis are getting a slow burn story. It's only a matter time for Phack to happen. Y&R switches up couples after 2-3 years.

Yeah I have to agree. Jack and Phyllis are just goofy and not in a good way. He is a sad sack and is tedious to listen too.
Phyllis gets on my nerves to no end but she and Nick have chemistry off the charts.

A re-run. No excitement...no chemistry here. Sally gave him a twinkle in his eye and a smile. Phyllis gives him...memories and an early nap.

Yes, it’s comfortable for him I guess but that’s about it.
He did smile with Sally it was nice for a change.

But she had been checking in on him because he feels “so lonely” without Kyle and Harrison around. If he weren’t in permanent sadness mode would Phyllis be giving him the time of day after the Sally blow up?

First it was about getting Sally away from him, then it became about his loneliness in the house. If he had a love in his life, I think that Phyllis would still insert herself in the situation. Especially if she didn't pick up a good vibe from the woman.

This is no difference than alienating any other fanbase that has been around for years. I can totally see Chelsea, Nick, Sharon, Adam quad down the road and Sally/Jack/Phyllis.

And another thing is, is Nick gazing with heart eyes at his ex-wife and the mother of 3 of his kids. There's a lot of anvils that Nick/Phyllis are doomed down the road.

It is Amazing how both actors (JM & SC) can just turn it on again or what the two actors have as far as on screen chemistry. Saying that though or BUT, I totally gave up on Shick 2018 (with the 2nd almost wedding, to teased us that way, with the buildup, the wedding dress, even a video with SC/seamtress trying on the wedding dress. It was such a buildup and the
"BOOM", it went to shock and awe (with Nick sleeping around again), and so Sharon dropped Nick. I just thought about the writing at the time: what about Faith..........for her to grow up this way, with her parents, the cheating and 2 almost weddings. GEE...............GEE.....Ho hum............talk about prop driven.........shock and awe.........and lame just to have engaged soon to be groom (Nick) to cheat again on Sharon........it was pretty lame writing..............2018. Y&R, has been losing its credibility. After a while you just watch Y&R (as a whole) as a train wreck, out of habit, mainly. Cant take it too seriously again. They ruined Shick for me. Yet, these two in a scene, the other day, they just never lose that on screen chemistry (all due to both actors, they must trust each others, even after all these years, and can just do a scene like they did the other day with both of them closing up Crimson Lights).

I see it as very plot driven. I don't think they know what to do with Jack so they are going back to what once was. I am not getting any vibe from Phyllis that she has any romantic feeling for Jack. Jack is lonely so he is looking for his security blanket which is Phyllis. I'm not seeing anything appealing in this. I don't see any great romance in this.

I really like Jack and Phyllis. I am not against Nick and Phyllis but I don’t see where they have very much going on these days. I would have enjoyed the dynamic of J/P in dealing with Kyle and Summer together but that shipped has sailed for the time being.

It does feel like the writers are moving into a J/P story. Nick has had a conversation with Sharon and Phyllis about his current relationship. I laughed when Phyllis was questioning what was on Nick’s mind and his response was, “I’m happy and content”. Really? He wasn’t acting happy and Phyllis picked up on it too.

Nick must be in touch with his feminine side because he senses something is going on between J/P. I think if Jack and Nick didn’t have a special relationship there might have already been words between them. Nick’s comment about “love is in the air” was spot on. Nick’s body language tells me that he is about to explode and all it’s going to take is one misunderstanding. I was actually surprised the ending scene today wasn’t Jack holding Phyllis’ hand with Nick watching from across the room.

This is exactly what if feels like. Nothing else works for Jack so Phyllis is his contingency plan.

I see nothing appealing about this potential reunion at all.

Phyllis would not be fighting Sally this hard if she didn’t have feelings for Jack. That’s what started all this fire. Before when it was just Summer whining Red dismissed. But when Jack became involved the story was different . Phick is always short term. They have fun for awhile and then Nick looks for a way out. They’re not kids anymore and Phick has become stale. Nick has dropped from importance becoming Det Phyllis’ sidekick. He doesn’t want to marry her. He wants no long term commitment.

I totally agree with what you said here about Phyllis only fighting with Sally this hard because she does have feelings for Jack. I think Phyllis is just pushing those feelings down because she doesn't want to anyone.

I have never cared for Nick and Phyllis - two adults who enjoy video games and sex. Period. How boring. And Jack would be better off alone than with Phyllis.

It's funny that Sharon's conversation with him was on his mind the same night as he looked miserable in bed and the next day (I think it's the next day). He should not be talking to Sharon about Phyllis at all. But Nick looked annoyed around Phyllis until she grabbed his hand. They could have advanced them beyond sex but they still choose not to. The sex comments again today, was there two of them? There is nothing there but sex and videogames. It's funny to me. The way Nick gazed at Sharon the other day was more interesting than anything he has done with Phyllis in 2 years of boredom. He stands there, she talks abut sex and one of them bring up videogames. His body language was completely off.
