I hope its OK to start this as I don't see anywhere to post. A DNA test has just been taken. BUT it's driving me nuts that they are all talking as if it's a given that Kyle is the boy's father. It is all backwards IMO. It doesn't matter that Tara said she had one done, that is meaningless for these purposes, and who can trust her anyway. But every action and conversation is based on Kyle being the father, it's ridiculous JMO

Has everyone forgotten that Tara said from the beginning (and Kyle believed her) that she was NOT having sexual relations with her husband that whole entire summer that Kyle was in the Hamptons having sex with her?
Wouldn't Ashland himself be able to remember if he never had sex with her, or quite possibly he did have enough sex with his wife to assume that her pregnancy was due to his relations with her during that time of conception?
All I know for sure right now is that Tara lies very easily. I also assume that Kyle will for sure turn out to be the bio father after this DNA test. Let's just hope it's on the up-and-up (even though it rarely is on a soap any more).
Not to mention that was a LOT of drama just watching Kyle swab his cheek. We don't get other important scenes, yet they chose to spend a lot of time showing Kyle Q-tipping his mouth. -
Anyone think the test results will be tampered with. Like that’s never been done before.

Good idea Texin as to Kyle going for his own test. BUT we ARE talking about Kyle. Would he even think of doing that. At the moment at least he is trusting Tara's word ... and already acting as if he's the father. -
It's been mentioned that Kyle is the one who arranged for the DNA test at the Abbott Mansion. We saw scenes where he talked to them on the phone.

I usually watch the show only half paying attention. Do we even know if the person who brought the DNA test is a real medical professional? She could be in on the whole thing if Tara is going to tamper with the results.Comment

I think many people missed those scenes where Kyle talked to the DNA collection people on the phone. Yes, Kyle arranged it, not Tara. -
Regardless of who set up the testing, the tech should have been the one to administer the testing and collect Kyle's sample in gloved hands, securing it and transferring it to the lab. Tara should not have been allowed to do anything with respect to the handling of the sample. Tara handled it and left the room with it.Last edited by Texin; May 27, 2021, 01:57 PM.

I do remember some exchange about that summer in the Hamptons. What the hell was going on in that period in which Ashland was not on the scene? Was that explained? I don't recall it. Were they on a "break" then? Or is Tara lying? It doesn't make sense. I guess when Tara found out she was pregnant, she had to hurriedly rekindle things with Locke, but if I had been he, I'd would suspected immediately something was afoot. And I certainly would have obtained a paternity test of my own for certainty. It seems cold, but a person's got to do what a person's got to do.

This is about as believable as Sharon glowing with cancer, Chelsea's whatever that was supposed to be, and now the hinkiest DNA test ever.
The Abbotts look like they barely have a functioning brain cell between them. Kyle taking the word of such an obvious liar, Jack being simple instead of recommending a shark lawyer, come on now. Harrison would be better off with Ashland than a parent that uses him to manipulate others for her benefit and dead stupid Kyle. Tara and Kyle sure aren't putting Harrison first here.

Maybe I'm missing something but Tara was only taking the child's DNA. No way to fake that unless she has another offspring upstairs. DNA shows both Mother and Father's DNA in child's sample.Comment
