Abby and Chance officially ask Mariah to be their surrogate. They're awkward about it and then freak out when Mariah needs to leave to think it over in private and speak to Tessa.

I'm worried that Mariah will feel obligated because of how OTT Abby is being about needing a baby asap, and Tessa encouraging her despite all her concerns. I'm finding Abby and Chance a bit creepy and desperate with their tunnel vision

Abby and Mariah werent even friends before Abby's wedding. Now suddenly Mariah will be the carrier of Abby's baby?

Mariah kidnapped Abby. I am hoping she keeps this kid too. Mariah is not trustworthy. And Abby is an idiot.

This twist was predictable but makes no sense. It's obvious the writers have been on autopilot for a while now. Time for some new blood to shake things up.

Abby won't be winning any friend of the year votes. That's alot to ask of a friend. It would be one thing if it was Mariah's idea and she volunteered. But asking a friend to carry a baby inside her for 9 months, And then have to give him or her away is not something I could ever ask a friend to do. But Abby is desperate I guess. There is a reason people look to strangers to be a surrogate.

And I'm willing to bet that Mariah will feel emotionally attached to the baby and won't want to give it up. Or in true JG fashion, Chance and Mariah will bond over the baby leaving Abby insecure. Tessa continues to be irrelevant because it's obvious JG really do not want to write for them.

Yep, and Mariah is voicing all of those worries, she knows it'll change her lifestyle massively. Abby and Chance don't seem to!! They reacted like they expected her to say yes on the spot, when at the beginning of the conversation she didn't even know what Abby's specialist said, let alone that they were looking for a surrogate.

What is wrong with Abby. Do she not realize this is not all about her and Chance. Mariah has a life, a partner and nine months of her life will be affected so yes, she need a little time to at least think about it. Abby act as if she expected Mariah to just jump and say yes right off the bat and not even give it a second thought. She is so spoiled that this is how rich spoiled people act. The look on her face is unbelievable. I just don't understand why she can take a little time to enjoy being married at least a few months or a year and then consider a baby but they started their planning before they even got married. But they must consider they have to deal with the hand they have been dealt and that is that Abby can't carry a child and no matter who they consider to carry a child for them, they will have to at least think about it.

How exactly is Abby being "OTT"? She is allowed normal human reactions to the devastating news she received. She took some time to process learning she can never carry a baby again, dealt with it and now she and Chance are moving forward. Any time Abby feels or reacts to anything, people act like she's set fire to something or is being unreasonable to hurt or cry. It's so bizarre to me. She asked Mariah to be the surrogate, if Mariah doesn't want to do it, say no and go. Is Mariah so fragile she can't be asked a question?? Abby isn't pinning her down at gunpoint. She literally said she will be fine if Mariah declines.

I think Chance and Abby have handled this realistically and sympathetically. The story so far is extremely sensitive and well-written/acted.

Of course I feel terrible for her, and I actually liked the scenes of her mourning her ability to carry a child.

She's being OTT in the way she's rushing into this desperately as if it has to happen today or tomorrow. I do think they pounced on Mariah unfairly without her even knowing they were looking for a surrogate, and without properly having a plan to present to her. Yes she said she would be okay if Mariah said no, but now Mariah is in a position where she would have to awkwardly listen to her best friend complain about trying to find a surrogate and feel guilty that she's the reason for it. Of course Mariah will feel pressured. And Abby's immediate reaction to her needing space to process just added to the pressure.

I agree. I'm surprised Abby and Mariah are friends after Mariah kidnapped Abby and terrorized her. I guess we are suppose to forget about that.

Yeah, I know TPTB aren't going to hire an extra to be the surrogate for Abby and Chance's baby. However, I just don't think having a baby right now, be it for herself or someone else, is on Mariah's agenda. It's a big responsibility and Abby transferring her anxiety (and we KNOW she'll be high on the anxiety scale) onto Mariah wouldn't be good for Mariah or the child she'd be carrying.

These two brainless twits Abby and Mariah deserve each other and I can’t think of a better punishment for either than to be saddled with one another for the next 9 months... makes FFwding them both even easier as well. I guess I should be happy that they have Mariah actually in a storyline for once instead of just running around town gossiping and getting in other grown folks business

I think Abby should have visited Mariah wherever she lives and asks her on her own not with Chance there.
If she led up to the whole reason she needs a surrogate and she is looking for someone. Then pose the
question to Mariah if she would be interested in being a baby surrogate for the couple. It really put Mariah
on the spot to say yes or no. Has Abby even talked to a doctor and asked questions? She needs
more info to give someone first.

How long do you think it would take for Abby to move Mariah and Tessa into the Chancellor mansion so she could monitor Mariah's every move? I guess what is in this for Mariah? Just for being a good friend she is expected to deal with implantation, change in lifestyle, morning sickness and swollen ankles just to appease a rich girl's need for immediacy. There are other options for surrogacy but Abby has to have what she wants when she wants it and, obviously, Chance is not the voice of reason when it comes to Abby. If Summer hadn't donated her kidney would Abby have asked her to be the surrogate and the big question is would she?

If Mariah was in a relationship with a man, I don’t think Abby would have been that quick to ask her. She would have given it more thought. Even Chance would have shown to be have reservations. Since it’s a woman they never even bothered to take Tessa’s feelings into consideration.

Agreed, it is about the biggest thing you could ask of a person- almost like donating an organ.

I don't mean to sound insensitive but I just kept thinking "What is even remotely in this for Mariah?" That is why surrogacies are usually super expensive.
