I never knew that the President from “24” was on Y&R! Not sure what character he’s playing here. Looks like a minor role.

Great eye, that he also does Allstate commercials, because I couldn't place his face, and you help me remember the commercials. I also remember his voice, it is distinct voice, for Allstate commercial. THX.

Wow! The original Jack, and John look so much alike! Great casting! Are they related in real life?

Jerry Douglas and Terry Lester were not related. The casting director just had a good eye I guess.

I think whomever did the recast of Jack to PB did one of the best jobs in daytime, I mean when TL was talking, smiling, I swear I saw PB. they could almost be twins. great casting back then.

Agree that Dennis Haysbert's role appears to have been minor. I think that at the time, I was watching Y&R off and on. I vaguely remember Nikki being manipulative and trying to win Victor back from Ashley. Was Nikki scheming with Victor's brother Matt, or were they having a fling? I know that Nikki and Matt eventually had an affair or got married.

I remember Nikki laying in a bed sick, but at the time, while watching it, I sense Nikki was pretending to be near death even though she was not. So, I think Victor divorced his current wife just so he can remarry Nikki on her death bed.

- I had no idea that Dennis Haybert was on the Y&R!
- Nikki's dream cracked me up!

- Ashley looked stunning!

- I noticed watching Phillip that he and Adam bear a resemblance to each other. If Mark Grossman weren't cast as Adam, he could have been cast as Chance.

The woman who John was interested in was Ellen Winters, played by Jennifer Karr. She was a social worker and the manager of a homeless shelter that Jack had to work at after being put on probation (I'm not sure for what). From what's posted online, looks like she was only on for about a year before the character left town. This was likely one of her last scenes.

thanks for the information. I tried to find Ellen on the SoapCentral character profile - but there isn't anything. I felt like I recognized the actress but I couldn't place her. These older episodes are full of great actors - and they leave me thinking 'I know him/her from something....'

If I had been a teen in the 80s, I would have such a crush on Danny Romalotti! He was so cute. Christine looks kind of different, but sounds the same.

OMG!!! Now this classic episode is really nostalgic for me! This was the first summer I started watching the Young and the Restless (1987) and here we are almost 33 years later! I will admit though..I'm impartial to the Bill Bell writing days though. Today's storylines and writing don't even compare.

Nikki & Matt never had an affair. Matt had a big thing for Nikki yet she was fighting for Victor. I think at one moment she saw Matt in a different light but nothing came from it with them.

Really enjoyed today's episode with Mrs. Chancellor and Cricket (Christine) scenes at the Chancellor mansion. I was a huge fan of Phillip and Cricket as a romantic young love back in those years 1986/87. I remember I did not like Nina getting in way (she seduced young Phillip) by getting pregnant for young Phillip, thus Chance was born, too. I also liked young Danny Romalotti (the rock singer) and Cricket as a couple, too, though. It was tragic to watch young Phillip (Jill's son and Sr. Phillip Chancellor's son) run off the road and die, too. I remember I did not like young Phillip dying at the time, too. I believe Nina went on with her life and I remember she and Ryan parented the young boy, Chance later on, too. Ryan, was also involved with young Victoria later on (Heather Tom was young Victoria). Really enjoyed see the actor, Thom Bierdz, who played young Phillip Chancellor, again.

I have always been confused by the whole chance thing, is chance just nina and phillips kid? I always thought they called him Phillip back then. Ryan was a dad to him for a long time. how on earth did chance get involved with Phyllis, as he was a child when Phyllis was scheming to get danny.
