Lord knows I love me some Traci Abbott. But what was the point of seeing her stay at the Grand Phoenix? I get that she went there for some R&R. But aside from the brief interaction with Phyllis, it was literally just her reading a book in her room. We didn't even get to see her get massaged by some hunky masseuse! I was waiting for something to happen, then...credits. Surely the writers can find more to do with this talented actress and beloved character?!?

They are pushing this GP thing. Why people would go stay at a hotel with no event attached to it is funny. If they were going to a concert and didn’t want to drive. If they were at a party hosted there or nearby.....but to just check into a hotel room in the same town that you live doesn’t make sense.

That is why I don’t think Abby will ever open a second hotel.

I agree.. I don’t think we will ever see this hotel Abby is supposedly building. Imo it’s no more ridiculous that everyone goes to The Grand Phoenix as it is that Society is apparently the only restaurant in Genoa City ... they simply don’t have the money for any more sets ... that much is obvious.

Op...agree. Nothing wrong with some R&R, and a spa day in a hotel is fun, no matter if you do live in a mansion. With Dina living with them, that's an emotional rollercoaster that she understandably might want a break from.
With that said, I hope there is more of a reason for it. Maybe she meets a new man or engages with an already established character that'll be involved in story with her. Something? Otherwise, this was just a wasted scene.

I never complain about more Traci on my screen!
My guess is that it's a small part of the process of her accepting the job at Chancellor. We've really not seen a lot of Traci except for in connection with Dina and Jack, so I think they're again rooting her in the place she was when she and Cane ended whatever it was they had.
They've had a scene or two with Jack, and now this, I think this 'spa' day, although random, might be just a way of the show showing her taking time alone to come up with the decision to take the job.
I was hoping she might have a quickie with her cute masseuse... j/k I know that's not Traci, but my goodness, she could use a good afternoon delight.

I thought it was Jack’s little thank you gift to Traci for coming back to GC and helping out with Dina. A Bro doing something nice for his little sis to say he appreciated her and didn’t take her for granted. She got a little vacation and a spa treatment. Nice! I wouldn’t complain and Traci told Jack she was enjoying it. I can’t imagine Traci doing this on her own and thought it was something Jack insisted she do. Am I wrong to think that?

Why did they even get rid of the Genoa City's much more luxurious classic Athletic Club set? I preferred the wood tone, low lighting, a place that had a different atmosphere, just way more relaxing and a place you expect more privacy or the service is top notched. It used to have more rooms, too, and the hotel suites, the exercise or fitness area, etc. I missed the entrance, too, the revolving glass entrance. The new sets does not give off the same vibe or atmosphere. They should have kept the set of the Athletic Club, it was a set for the more powerful rich business titans and for others, too.

It was a PSA for caregivers, to tell them all it's okay to take a break and leave your loved one, if only for one night. It's to emphasize that you should do something completely for yourself after taking care of an affected loved one.
Bonus for me was that Phyllis actually seemed like a hotel owner.

You make a good point, sadly many caregivers are lucky to take a PB&J in the backyard for a few minutes for their break.
Funny, I thought she was in NYC. We have had constant news breaks so she just suddenly showed up there for me.

I don’t think Tracy left since they brought Dina back home, for sure it’s seems she goes back and for to NY so easily, but I don’t think she really left but she wasn’t just shown beside Lily’s meeting.... but I think they respected it was one week ago, if the meeting with Jack for rebranding was a week ago also ...
