Also hard to believe is that there were only two thumbdrives that Phyllis had that evidence on. Doesn't seem likely that she wouldn't have it stored elsewhere as well. But apparently she doesn't. Pretty dumb.

Abby is obviously pissed that Chance won't set up Adam to get the evidence on him again. I'd say that was the end of Abby and Chance. She won't be able to get past his lack of loyalty to her and she will dump him.

Abby is the ultimate dingbat in this scenario Her thirst for revenge for Chance to help her idiot brother Adam cost her brother and sister the leverage to get Newman back... she’s her own worst enemy with some of the silly decisions she makes. Phyllis deserved to lose the thumb drive. She already blackmailed Chelsea with it once. And then let Chance know she wasn't done toying with him. Of course when he was given the option of destroying the audio, he'd use it. She shouldn't have bragged about the second copy.

And now Abby wants to get the goods on Adam again? Is she dumb? Adam's confession implicates Chance. She'd risk sending her lover to prison to impress the brother who just laughed when Phyllis used blackmail and harassment to steal the hotel from her. Her siblings have no loyalty to her, and she's the only one who lost something the last time the family ganged up on Adam. Did they care? Nope.

IMO, if Chance did destroy it, I find that unbelievable. Stupid. Very short-sighted. No way would I have ever destroyed something that important. I would have put it in a secure place where NO ONE would have ever found it. And left it there, until it was necessary to bring it back into the light of day. As for Phyllis, her attitude on this was again disgusting, arrogant, smug, and SO self-serving. No self-awareness at all.

This writing is so weird, why would Abby want Chance to have Adam confess about what happened in Vegas, don’t she know it will implicate Chance in a cover up? Abby should also realize by now that Victoria would never sacrifice anything like that for her. Victoria doesn’t even want Abby working at Newman unless she’s working under her. The writers need to check out the history.

I always thought Phyllis was the sharpest crayon in the box. Guess not. I would have thought she had “backup”.

If I were Abby - I wouldn’t sweat it. When has Nick helped Abby lately? Victor, Victoria and Nick always treat Abby like an outsider or after-thought. Because Abby didn’t come out of Nikki’s womb... she will always be treated like squat.

In all honesty, all the Newmans have become so unlikeable through the years. JMO. I couldn’t care any less if Adam, Victor and Nick all killed each other in a three way knife-throwing contest.

I found Abby reaction unrealistic ... she saw her brother couldn’t care less than his lover hurt her business, but she has to sweat now than suddenly Phyllis’s bad action was hypothetically for real for a good one to put down Adam .. when she know all along then Phyllis did it only to got back the hotel ... and certainly couldn’t figure out this time, she would be back in Nick’s bed or Adam will succeed of getting back Newman for himself ... but we have to see Abby desperate..already to throw another boyfriend in a risky illegal action to save her family again ..if I was Chance I will run to the other side,.. in the same conversation Abby said she’s her own person ..and 3 minutes later , she’s like a 10 years old who want to please her big sister , the same one who becomes hyperventilated every time Abby tried to win her father’s respect and working at Newman ,even in under position than Victoria .. but it was never enough for Victoria who wanted just Abby out ...

I think the real problem standing between Abby and Adam would still be mostly what Adam did to her mum, then really the feud with Victoria and Nick ... and I can understand, but we saw Ashley speak civilly with Adam, .. but if I was in Abby’s shoes I would hate him as much as I live,.. but we saw Colleen reconciled with Kevin, even becoming best friend even he tried to burn her alive... so in the soap world,... Abby should have made friend with Adam a long time ago,.. knowing he always tried to spare her in his war with the rest of the Newman family ...

That's what I believe, too, GwenSharonteam.
Abby has a right to hate on Adam for the rest of her life, but Jack has since become his BFF and Ashley has managed to get past it, too, so why aren't the writers allowing for these two to connect? Adam has been shown to exclude Abby from his wars against the Newmans over and over again, he sees that she's not like them and if she were smarter, Abby would realize that having Adam in her corner would be a good thing business wise, too.
That is a story I would not miss and it would make sense, since they are both outsiders and now they have Chance in common.
