Good morning everyone.
I want to post the following because some threads lately have become a little heated. I know we love Y&R and have our favorite characters, couples and storylines; however, we have to make sure the board remains a place where everyone feels okay to respectfully share their opinions. So, I'll begin by posting the following guidelines. Thanks in advance for reading.
The SOC guidelines clearly state: "While many people don't like the idea of a bunch of rules, it is our belief that these guidelines will help create a more enjoyable environment for the visitors of our site. They are based upon three separate ideals: courtesy, common sense and respect."
Numerous threads on the board have devolved into posters arguing back and forth on pretty much every post or comment with various versions of the same argument. Not only are the arguments repetitive, they’re often discourteous and disrespectful. This doesn't create an enjoyable environment encouraging people to visit, join and post on SOC.
You are certainly free to express your opinions and to disagree, but your comments should be in context to the show not directed at a poster or fanbase. Repeatedly going after each other and arguing the same point is disruptive and will result in deleted posts/threads and a possible ban if it becomes an ongoing issue. Respect is paramount especially when you disagree.
Everyone should feel this is an environment where they can express their opinion and disagree courteously without being attacked or having to defend themselves.
