By the time I FF'ded Kyle and Lola, Billy's ranting, and Sharon and Rey - there wasn't much left to watch. What a waste - especially to have all of that on one day. Sorry, no matter how much they show these couples (and Billy) they will never work for me.

CLOUDFARE Security Message
Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.
This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.
Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.
The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

For the first time since I started watching Y&R I have been FF'ing most of the show. Its seems to me that lately all the characters have gone back in time, feels like old stories are now new again - UGH!!!! I do like the NuAdam ALOT but I really don't want to see a battle for CEO of Newman (again) and a battle over Christian (AGAIN), why revisit the accidental death of Delia (cause Billy left her alone in a car in a shady parking lot) - NOT ADAMS FAULT THAT SHE WAS IN THE STREET
I wish these writers had some new fresh ideas.
PLUS - Kyle is so boring now, he used to really get my attention, now he has become FF material.
Why did the keep Lola and get rid of Mia????? Bad moveLast edited by NYC_SOAP_FAN; May 23, 2019, 07:42 AM.

Soaps are on all year long. They do not have the benefit of a true offseason like most primetime shows. The writing is bound to be repetitive and sometimes boring. While I think the soaps could do better writing wise I think fans are often too harsh and seem to revel in complaining about the soaps. This is just my opinion of course.

That’s why I haven’t watched an episode since the Neil tribute, don’t even bother to fast forward.
By the time you skip Shey, Kola, and little Adam, not much left anyway.

Year long soap.... been on forty plus years.... no excuse! The problem is Sony and CBS. That's why Mal Young's writing began to falter when these two conglomerates wanted more Rosales and less of the rest (although, the show DOES need new characters). There were many complaints that Young was at fault, when it wasn't him.... it was Sony and CBS. We saw what happened with Griffith twice before. We already knew how he writes. Yes, he likes certain characters, but concentrating on a few characters doesn't make a soap opera. Sony, CBS, if you are listening, stop trying to serve the demographics YOU want. Get a head writer and executive producer who is willing to GROW the characters AND the soap opera industry. Let them take chances. If you lose some older viewers like me, then so be it, but at least you won't go out like soaps of the past (ATWT, GL, OLTL, AMC).

Just to clarify. OLTL was the highest ranking soap when the alphabet channel cancelled it and AMC to save the now tanking pet soap GH. I watched OLTL from 1st day to last day and never stopped watching or recording every day. Y&R is the only soap left for me to enjoy and now, I've stopped watching and/or recording it. Makes me sad

It's hard to write something for everyone every single day. Personally, I love Sharon and Rey and Lola and Kyle. Sick of Billy complaining though. I could not care less about some of the other couples. That said, people wanted to go back to the old days, so we will most probably see lots of rehashed stories, which will mean more folks tuning out.

I didn't FF everyday but Young's destruction of JT and one year of Phyllis and Company having basically the same conversation got on my nerves. Rey and his crew have bored me from the beginning. And whatever is going on at Devon's is dull too.
I am willing to give JG is break because he has to adjust and layout stories. The things that bugged me are being fixed, JT, Rosales and Devon's.
Paul is back, Jack is in charge and Victor is Victor.

Young was the HR and EP, he has some (a lot) or responsibility in what happened the last two years.
Even if (and I it is NOT a fact) Sony wanted more Rosales and no more Paul, Young decided how it would b done. Paul's exit stage left was horribly written, and the Rosales entrance was clunky and thrust upon viewers in an aggressive way. If Sony wanted this, I'm sure they certainly didn't want it written in a way to alienate so many long time viewers. That was ALL Young
They all have responsibility, but the captain of the ship (Young) traditionally goes down with the ship, and he steered the show even if he was pushed by Sony on the direction.

There was an article in SOD or SID late last year reporting that both corporations wanted to represent the Hispanic audience. Sony AND CBS was quoted. Again, Mal Young wasn’t perfect, but he had to listen to his employers. Actors like Doug Davidson had to go in order to pay for them, just as Eric Braeden’s episode count diminished under the new regime.

I enjoyed Lola and Kyle and Sharon and Rey but those scenes didn’t play for drama so much that’s the return of Adam and that’s sl’s from several years ago. It’s one reason I didn’t want Adam back or Victor at the forefront again.
I don’t care if Billy hates Adam at the end of the day Adam still cared more about covering for himself. I don’t care if Nick doesn’t accept him either Adam had no use for Christian and now he’s probably going to claim him . Vicky has less reason than Billy and Nick to be angry at Adam except that she’s concerned how it affects Nick and Billy. She should finally get away from NE and see her father for the sexiest pig that he is.
I did like the scenes with Devon , Michael and Elena and Devon trying to come to terms with his losses.

It has been very very boring lately. My complaint is that with the New Adam return there should be some spark there. Instead we get the same dialogue. I wouldnt mind lola and kyle or rey and sharon if there actually doing something. They should be exciting and fresh since they are new couples. Kyle and Lola no longer have summer to keep them interesting to me. The cast is big enough to where we shouldnt be seeing the same folks talk about the same thing. Instead of that, we should see whats going in with Mariah and her stalker, the development of Nate and Abby. How are the twins adjusting to their granddads death or where they dropped? Who has the rights to Ana music or was that dropped too? Where is Fen, whats going on with his music career? Who exactly is Jett Slade? These are just some of the stories going on that we arent seeing or should see but we are seeing the same people with the same dialogue. This is why im complaining.
I will give the writers leeway on the lack of devon, cane and their story because the filming todays episode was so close to the the death of their close friend KSJ, you can see in BJ acting that he is still struggling with this. Because of this im giving the whole crew some time because they were definitely going through some changing and emotions, not just professionally but personality. Alot of stuff have went on bts on y&r over the last few months leading to todays episode.

I agree that the stories are boring. The characters just sit around, talking. There is NO ACTION! Let's have a party, a dance, something with action. Perhaps we can have someone having fun on a boat, a horse, in a pool, looking for an apartment, moving in and arranging the new home, having a bbq, playing with a dog--------------actions instead of conversations.
Yakking is boring.
