I did watch Loving. It had great characters. But was really inconsistent at times with its stories. However, the hype over the Loving Murders story was/is warranted. I can't recall another storyline that had me riveted and so intrigued and delivered with a bombshell of an ending.

I also watched when it became The City. And while it was a mixed bag its first few 6 months to a year, its final year was fantastic. Show, unfortunately, found its stride at its end.

That tends to happen alot, when a show is ending, they try to actually make a show that the fans want, when if they had done that all along the show wouldn't be ending.

That is fascinating, OLTL! Did you know Ava #1 or #2?

I watched the show off and on from the beginning. Watched THE CITY from day one. Loved it when Tracy Q joined the show! And with AMC’s Angie, it was sort of a nexus of ABC soaps. All they were missing was a Ryan’s Hope character!!

I saw some episodes. I watched the last story about the serial killer and I remember the girl who played Stacy hosted the last episodes.

I was basically raised on GH (and mom named me after Steve Hardy , but I started to check out the other ABC soaps because it was easy with all the advertising you saw about the other shows. Unfortunately LOVING was the last to get added to my list, but I would always check in from time to time even though I didn't know what was going on. I still thought the characters were interesting. Then, the series-ending murder mystery was very well advertised and you couldn't help but pay attention. Too bad the show ended. I also thought it was interesting when they started using that "film look" type of film to record the shows during the last couple of years. It really had an affect on your eyes--in a good way, I thought. Never got to follow it to The City, though. Now, with the collapse of so many soaps, I really want to see that show again. YouTube isn't enough, though.

SoapNet was an option for some shows, but what a total disappointment. During the 13 years it was on, it didn't seem to do what the fans TRULY wanted. Instead, they just threw some stuff up there and hoped for the best. I mean, really...re-airing episodes that JUST aired the same day...and then do that ever day with a marathon on the weekend?! They did get Ryan's Hope on there, which was great for those fans, but that's about it. It was a missed opportunity to air shows like LOVING, SANTA BARBARA, EDGE OF NIGHT, etc. Thus far, nobody has been able to hook us up with that type of programming--and I bet people would be willing to pay.

And worse, as time went on they showed a lot of reruns of prime time shows that weren't really soaps. It was disappointing how Soapnet didn't live up to it's potential.

I had a local celebrity in Laura Sisk (her name at the time). She is from my neighborhood in Clinton, Maryland. Her brother owned a gas station across from the main entrance to Andrews Air Force Base called Sisk-O.

I watched the first couple of years but I can't remember any of the story lines. I can remember Cabot, Gwyneth and Trisha Alden. I can remember there was an actress on there whose first name was Roya. And, I can remember there was a character named Rita Mae. That's about all I can recall.

Very true - the "Loving Murders" killed off almost all the Alden clan (except for Trisha) along with Stacey and Jeremy. The twist that it was Gwyn was well done

During that storyline, OLTL referenced it by having Todd ask Tina if their sister Viki was responsible for the murders as his reporter said bodies are stacking up like firewood.

Years later, GH had some action set in Corinth showing the Alden Mansion mothballed and the entire town's economy suffering due to what happened. The mansion set used didn't match the Alden Mansion's original look as I recall but the set designers probably didn't think to try and copy it.

It was a little soap that never got the recognition it deserved. Christine Tudor, Lisa Peluso, Lauren Marie Taylor, Nada Rowland, Laura Sisk-Wright... there was such talent!

I wish I could find Steve and Trisha’s wedding on YouTube. It was gorgeous, long-awaited, and her gown was amazing!

Bah, my comment got flagged as spam just because I tried to edit a typo. Here was the reply:

                          Ah, okay.

Yes Steve was her first love, a good guy but a poor man. I don’t remember if his father Harry Sowolski was on when you watched. They had a three year love story that was thwarted by Gwyneth, Cecilia who wanted Steve (Colleen Dion, Felicia in B&B) and Nick, a drug dealer/casino owner who got Trisha hooked on drugs before Steve rescued her.

Then they had a gorgeous wedding but about a few months later, the actor who played Steve didn’t want to stay so they killed Steve off.

Next they hinted at a pairing with Rick and Trisha before it was revealed he was her brother. Then Jeff came in the picture. I don’t remember how that started but he eventually ended up a stalker/villain.

We’re you watching the years that Susan Walters played Lorna and there was some girl jealous of her? I just always remember that, some girl complaining all the men loved Lorna. That might have been before you started.

Yes, she did play Priscilla Presley.

She was the first Lorna Forbes on this show. ?
