  • Thomas Doesn't Seem To Care That Hope Doesn't Love Him

At this point he seems like a typical guy, just happy to be having sex. This to me, is more like the last Thomas was (Pierson Fode).

I think he may be over his obsession of Hope and just happy to be getting some from her.

    Any thoughts?

He has been after her for so long that I think he's happy to take what he can get - at least for now. At least Hope seems to be being upfront with him.

I agree! This will be a slow-burn to a love story, I think. Hope is falling for Thomas...

  • #3
I think he will take what he can get, as taramartin said. However, I also think he is still hung up on her. He wants more, but will take the sultry Hope sex.

I think he is thinking that deep down, she cares more than she's letting on. I'm guessing he's been in love with her for so long, that he will enjoy this while it lasts and if it ends, that will be hard but he will survive.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. He's willing to take whatever pieces she's willing to give right now because he loves her so much. May not be right for others and people can think he's weak, but Thomas has his eyes wide open on this. He's choosing this and I hope hope hope the writers keep him moving forward IF it turns out that Hope doesn't end up loving him. But i think she will or does already love him 😂.

Agreed, Stella_Bella and @ yay_olli. We've also already seen that Thomas is capable of compartmentalizing everything and just accepting what she's willing to give and walk away from her if he needs to, because he's already done so before and was totally fine. When she first told him, "What happens in Rome, stays in Rome," he was fine. Then the girl threw herself at him repeatedly and he STOPPED her, until she finally couldn't take it anymore and so took her wedding band off, instead, and dragged him off to bed, lol!

Thomas has been doing GREAT, so far, in my opinion! He's more than happy to let her take the lead. It would be different if it was hurting him or had a problem with it, but that's just not the case, right now. They continue to check in with each other and discuss their arrangement like adults, and I hope they continue to do so!

Wouldn't it be great if Thomas does take Hope at her word, as in: "No strings attached. No committments. Let's just live for the moment..."

And then along comes someone else, who catches Thomas' eye and strokes his ego like he does to Hope and Thomas lets Hope know that HE has fallen in love with another woman and says, "Thanks, it's been fun..."

It would be sweet to see Hope's reaction if Thomas ever turned the tables on her and said, "See ya, bye!"

I would like to see some other girl chase after Thomas and scheming to get him. I would love to see Hope jealous and fighting for her man!

Like most males he’s not turning down free sex. I do think he’s in love and will take what he can get. He thought it he would never have her and now he’s having sex quite frequently. Hope will be in love before the year is out.

Lol now if the roles were reversed OMG people would not be okay would they Thomas has been beaten down and made of so little value he just accepts being used. Pathetic.

Hope is having fun being naughty, and Thomas likes it.

I totally reject the sexist idea that he's just happy to be having sex. He's literally already in love with Hope. If it were about sex for him, he could do any one of the models at Forester at any given time. He does want more from her. She's the one using him although I think she's into him emotionally way more than she admits at times. I'll be glad when she can be honest with herself and Thomas, her mother and everyone else!

It is not just about sex for her. She literally cheated on her husband with him because she could not fight her strong feelings for him anymore, and those feelings have been shown to be about much, much more than a sexual attraction. She refused to stay away from him when her husband asked her to repeatedly as well.

She's absolutely in denial. I think it's understandable, too, given the circumstances. They have a complicated history that NO ONE ever fails to remind her of at every turn, she acted on her feelings and not only busted up her marriage to a man she'd been fixated on for years, but her stable family unit for her children, as well, and she appears to be experiencing an identity crisis on top of it all, having failed to live up to the expectations that have been placed upon her and that she's placed on herself. She's shown that she is really, truly fallible and is struggling with that. Her desire for Thomas is all wrapped up in confusing feelings and an additional sense of guilt regarding decisions she's made in her pursuit of him, so I don't expect her to figure it out overnight. Hopefully she will in time and understand the deep emotional connection they share, that she remembers that he makes her feel safe, sexy, powerful, loved, and seen. Those are EMOTIONAL bonds, not surface-level sexual ones. She loves that boy.

I think that if Thomas maintained any obsessive feelings about Hope, he would be the one initiating the sex, but it's been all on Hope.

I also believe that Hope still holds on to the notion that she's supposed to love Liam "for the sake of her family", maybe because Brooke keeps repeating that to her. We need for Thomas and Hope to get back to working together because that's where her attraction for him started. Yes, she's enjoying amazing sex, but it was the bond that she was sharing with Thomas that changed her mind about him.

Hope needs an AHA! moment to recognize that Thomas is the whole package at this point: caring father, amazing chemistry as a person and co-worker, and a great partner for sex.

I almost posted this as well! There is going to be something that happens that will trigger her to realize how she really feels.

Except, I don't think she willl ever FULLY get over the evil deeds he's done..just like she didn't seem to get over Liam's waffling/cheating (despite forgiving both of these men). JMO. I really do think that's why she's telling Thomas to his face..that she's not in love with him..and that this is not love for me and it may never be.

Sharkswin Love on soaps is never what love in real life is. If it were, then Ridge and Brooke wouldn't have split apart multiple times in the past five years. Steffy would have found a way to make her children safe without leaving Finn. Liam wouldn't run to Steffy and sleep with her because he believed Hope was kissing Thomas. Hope wouldn't have gotten past the dozen or so times that Liam screwed up their wedding attempts. Characters get past prior actions. Especially with a cast this small, if they didn't, no couples would exist.

That being said, it's annoying to me that only Thomas' past actions are dragged up for so long. Bill did so many vile and criminal things when trying to prevent Hope and Liam apart, and yet Brooke ended up having an affair and marrying him and never once brought up his nasty past.

For Thomas willing to be used as a "sex toy", he has lost all of his self-esteem. He's good looking and have a good job, he could have found any girls he likes if he just goes out and explore the world outside of Hope.

Most men wouldn’t mind being sex toys lol. Sex without commitment. I do wish he would explore other options while this arrangement is happening.

Thomas hasn't been obsessed with Hope since the brain bleed. I think he's happy knowing that Hope is attracted to him in that way and the fact that she is the one who pursued him is a big win for him. On the other hand, the fact that he has resigned himself to being a monk when Hope doesn't want him is ridiculous. Being a "one-woman man" doesn't mean he can't have casual fun. It's ridiculous that the writers have positioned him this way. I don't care how many throwaway lines they've had about him "going out" before Rome. For some reason, I'm expected to think Hope is empowered but whenever I see Thomas, I just feel sad and wonder if he has any self-esteem or self-respect.

Thomas and Hope are having fun and even though he knows his heart could be broken at the end of it, he's all in and enjoying the ride.

They're both consenting adults and nobody is lying to the other. They are aware of the risks so I don't have an issue with this at this time.

Thomas is in love and knows deep down that Hope has feelings for him, and that could turn into love, he just gives her time. I find it very beautiful, then if they can have fun too, I don't see the problem, life is short, have fun.

I find it lovely, as well. He's letting her take the lead because he already knows how he feels about her, so he's giving her a chance to figure out what SHE feels for HIM. He also understands all of the huge changes Hope is having to adapt to right now. He is being patient and simply enjoying being with her in the meantime. He isn't pressuring her like everyone else, or pushing her the way he did in the past. Given their history, it makes perfect sense to me that he wants her to take her time and be sure about every step she takes with him.

Santeenluvtheme I 1000% agree. Thomas sees the pressure Hope is dealing with, with everyone in her ear, and he’s being patient. Plus, in a relationship two people don’t always fall in love at the same time. When Hope finally realizes she’s falling in love with Thomas, it’ll blow her mind.
