Steffy went to work a month after Finn died, but Brooke couldn't go in 3 months?

I saw the very beginning of the show on Monday when Y&R was getting over on my recording, but i saw steffy at work. It can't be more than a month since Finn died and she was shot, and she went to work.

Brooke couldn't go to work for 3 months cause of "that night". Really?????????

Not sure cause I am not watching but happened to see steffy at work and was surprised as Brooke said recently she couldnt work cause she was thinking of what sheila did. Not sure why Brooke still has a job there anymore.....

Brooke still has a job there because Eric is obsessed with her and she slept with all the men in the family. Logan can do whatever she wants with no consequences.

For me there is nothing there with Brooke at this point. She’s never been off screen for long but what is her actual purpose besides acting like a victim and being praised ( for what I don’t know). By now Brooke should be an Erica Kane or Dorian Lord .

I not sure comparing is realistic. IMO Steffy wasn’t ready to be at work actually. She’s grieving. Mentally and emotionally, work is the last place she should be. I understand the urgency to get distracted but it never works because the grief is still there every second, from personal experience. It was more work and stress to fake the smile…to continually say “I’m okay.” As far as the Brooke situation she had her own stressor (partly her own making), but no one knows the mental stressors she was going thru. I don’t Think I could compare the two because they’re different situations with different variables.

It's different for everyone, some can work, some can't. I seriously needed the distraction. I needed to be busy, I needed to keep my brain occupied to keep myself from going crazy.

When is the last time Brooke worked in the office? I don't recall her going to the office unless going to visit Hope or Ridge in the last few year. Does she still have a fashion line? I really thought she was just a shareholder or part owner. I didn't know she had a part in the day-to-day operations.

Brooke went to FC to work at getting Ridge to come home to her.

Remember that Brooke was the one bringing up "Hope's pain" for allowing Steffy to believe that Liam was her husband for 24 hours while Steffy was in critical condition recovering from a gun shot wound. That's quite telling about how Brooke judges pain.

Besides, she had the heavy burden of lying to Ridge all that time which much have really hurt.

Hope didn't go to work for 8 MONTHS after Beth. Of course she had a right to grieve as long as she needed but she got to waltz right back into FC and demand her line back. And got it of course. She has neglected her line tons of times but it's Hope so apparently that doesn't matter.

Same with Brooke. She sat in her mansion whining for over 3 months, it was even mentioned she was missing meetings. Any consequence? Anyone even ASK if she is gonna bother with work anymore? Of course not. It's Brooke.

I never knew exactly what her purpose was except maybe to make it her mission to see that Her Daughter's and her lame line are getting their fair share (ie, that Steffy the CEO doesn't outshine Hope).

I am not sure how you got that number.

With Hope it has not been that different as with Steffy nowadays. Hope after a month went back to FC, but she had flashbacks and couldn't really concentrate much on work.

But still we had her turning up at the office during the net months (April, May.....), hiring Flo and talking at FC about her sleeping issues, about the girls needing Liam, about Thomas.... .

Hope gave birth to the supposed stillborn baby in Jan. 2019.

On Feb. 5th we had Hope returning to FC.
On Feb. 6th we had the episode with Hope trying to work on HFTF - but then having a flashback to the night when she had given birth and had lost her baby.
On Feb. 13 we had another episode with Hope at FC and Pam gifting her tickets to Medieval Knights - looked at Sally's designs for HFTF and then again started to talk about how she had not been strong enough to save her daughter.


April 29 was the episode when Hope invited Flo to the office to talk about a job at FC, to join HFTF.

May 9, the episode when Liam rushed back from Europe and visited Hope at the office. And Thomas quickly caught on that Wyatt had warned Liam to rush back and stop Thomas from going after Hope.

If it is about if Hope was an efficient worker, I might get it (although I rarely see them all really doing fashion work at FC and not just gossiping and chatting).

But if it is about "going to work", then Hope had been back much, much earlier (and the others at FC worrying if Hope is really ready to be back).

I would think it's a personal decision. If someone can afford to take a leave of absence, and the boss is okay with it, why not?

Actually the New Years Eve thing was the beginning of January...we are at the end of May. So she was out of work for nearly 5 months! (I just noticed Terileeh posted the same thing above)

The last "work" I recall Brooke doing was giving an interview and doing a photoshoot with Ridge and then showing him the article which was naming Ridge and her as Co-CEOs.
