Eric admitted responsibility for shutting Quinn out and withholding intimacy which lead to her affair with Carter. Quinn was willing to give him a divorce with no messy drama or financial demands. Eric was the one who chose to tear up the divorce papers and invite Quinn back home. She gave up a truly fulfilling relationship with Carter to return to Eric because she loves him. She has put in the time and effort and, while things apparently aren't perfect, they're good enough to have her content. Now, after Eric has had an affair with Donna for who knows how long, he's saying that he never actually got past Quinn's betrayal. I'm not sure who's more pathetic, Eric or Donna, as she's content to just be his side piece, meeting up for sex. He's seemingly confused as to what he wants at this point (at least neither Donna nor I could figure him out).
Given what Eric has put Quinn through - his favoring Brooke over her, going cold physically and emotionally on her, the abuse she had dumped on her from Ridge and the Logans about Eric's arrangement for her to have sex with Carter, and then flipping and changing his mind, giving her the illusion that he loves her and wants a future with her - I find his current stance despicable. I know that he's always been a horn dog, but even he has reached new lows.
When Quinn and Carter had their affair, there were comments that Quinn's expectations for kinky sex were to blame and that she should have known better when she chose to marry an older man that he couldn't fulfill her physical needs. Apparently, it's Eric who's lust isn't being met in his marriage, not Quinn, and, at this point, I have no sympathy for him.
