This is a bit of a stretch, but hear me out.
I do not think that Ridge is going back to Brooke, not right away at least.
The show currently has a Brooke fan club of Deacon, Bill and Ridge. Taylor currently has a fan club of Ridge. If Ridge were to remain with Brooke, that would leave Taylor without any man in her corner. Brooke on the other hand would have Ridge at her side with Bill and Deacon longing for her in the shadows.
I know this show can be a bit ridiculous at times, but I cannot see Ridge erasing from his mind the past few months he has spent with Taylor, Thomas and Steffy. I think his love for Taylor has been reignited and even though he is still married to Brooke I do not think at this time he can easily switch off his feelings for Taylor.
So while Brooke is acting like a dog with a bone, she is still accommodating Deacon in the home that she and Ridge share. The problem is still there and then you have Bill sizing up the dressmaker as to what his intentions are.
So mathematically speaking Brooke's character does not need Ridge, apart from him being her husband. With the right amount of interaction, she can easily bounce to Deacon or Bill if circumstances arise. Taylor on the other hand only has eyes for Ridge and he is the only one who is showing her that support.
Ridge could barely leave Taylor's side after the arrest to tell Brooke why she drank the alcohol. That to me says a lot.
It may take the rest of the year but I think Ridge's feelings for Brooke are changing.
