Brooke with D.I.D.? ?

The upcoming Brooke episode made my mind wander.. Just imagine the beautiful Katherine Kelly Lang getting the opportunity to shine should the trauma that Brooke is experiencing cause her to develop Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) / Multi Personality Disorder.
The possibilities are endless and it could be soap opera magic! Other than there being a Brooke 'alter' for each of the men in her life, it would be interesting to see Brooke interact with Taylor against such a background. To top it off, imagine a strong, empowered Brooke facing off against and maybe even scaring Sheila!

Somehow, I think the writers would botch it. There's a fine line between good drama and overdone tripe, which B&B often crosses.

Abby Horton (Days) got a whole other personality as a full-grown adult, after murdering someone, soaps can do what they want. It wouldn't be too far of a stretch because they could just go back and use the trauma of her rape years ago to develop a DID story. That being said, your dementia comment was funny, as they are all getting a little long in the tooth for these games.

I’d like to see Brooke deal with something like breast cancer and the prospect of losing a breast. Brooke has always really been defined by her sexuality so it would be interesting to see her cope with all the emotions and doubts surrounding that. It could be something a little meatier for KKL rather than the eternal handwringing over Ridge or insert another man’s name here.

A mature storyline is definitely needed for the Brooke Logan character. Enough of the two second break with her and Ridge and every 5 minutes she’s acting like she will die without her soulmate/destiny. Time to grow the character up

Her behavior has been 100% consistent since the beginning though. Must be desired by all men at all costs.

Any other woman who attracts attention (her mother, her sisters, both her daughters, Macy, Taylor etc) is a threat and she has to "prove" she is more desirable by flirting overtly, covertly, scheming, manipulating physically and emotionally (with her poor me tears etc) , all the way up to actual seduction with a bed in her office.

She has been doing this since Day One and now she is over 60 and doing the same exact thing. Where would the disassociation be? She never changes one bit.

I do wish they would give her a mature storyline but they just refuse to let her grow up.

I thought they were heading in that direction of growing up when she promised a dying Stephanie she would "be a better woman" and then allowed Stephanie die in her arms not Eric's. However TPTB did not pivot Brooke into a more mature person. Such a missed opportunity.
