What bothers me about Liam & Hope

Sharkswin Actually Steffy and Bill fell in love and were planing a future together. And indeed they would have had sex hadn't Taylor interrupted them. And Liam knew all that and still got involved with his father's ex without giving a dam about his father's feelings. But STILL made the ULTIMATE BETRAYAL when they had a ons after Liam successfully broke Steffy? Please. Sharkswin Steam is abusive, destructive , toxic...lope is shallow and toxic...anything that involves Liam or Hope is toxic, they destroy everyone around them. And if you want rebound, you have Hope getting knocked up by a still very married Liam barely an hr after he sent flowers to his wife wanting to reconcile. And it took a lie to get him to rebound.Liam proposed to Hope but to bed her unlike his proposals to Steffy.

My problem with Lope is that they're stuck on stupid when they're together. It's like they're dopey lovestruck teenagers who expect that their lives are going to be an endless episode of The Love Boat. But the moment a real issue happens, they fall apart. They're too old to be this dumb about how life works anymore, and honestly, when they're with other people, the characters have been more adult and more interesting--or at least KM's Hope was more interesting with Wyatt. AN's version has had no opportunity to do much of anything but play the victim, so it's harder to tell with her. Really, as bad as the writing was for KM's Hope, it's even worse for AN's Hope.

Hope is no victim. She's a self centered sociopath who expects to get everything she wants and throws a tantrum when she doesn't. Liam is just not very smart. Of course the writing for them is ridiculously one-sided and that's why they are never held responsible for anything. It's always someone else's fault.

Lope are mindnumbingly dull and uncharismatic as a couple and that's because there is not an ounce of sexual or romantic chemistry between the actors SC and AN. None. It's just painful to watch Liam and Hope try to muster up some semblance of romance when they have nothing more than a brother/sister rapport.

There are a lot of things to dislike about Lope for me but I might have given them the benefit of the doubt if I could detect a certain spark between them. For a couple whose entire existence hinges on being 'kept apart', there is little to no sexual tension between them. I never saw any believable yearning or longing for each other which is what would make me root for for them to get back together. Whining about Thomas and about being 'robbed' will never generate any romance. A star-crossed lovers story with no sexual tension is a waste of time.

***Oh, and when I say sexual chemistry, I'm not just referring to sex or sex scenes. It also includes things like body language, looks/mutual eye contact, playful banter, ease of communication etc. From what I've seen Lope have none of it.

Great post. They really do have a sibling like relationship. Hope's return didn't do her character any favors, and certainly not offense to the lovely actress who plays her.
Hope is just generally a disapproving younger woman who wet blankets everything she comes into contact with. Fortunately for her, Liam isn't very bright.

Soapwatcher7 - Steffy and a married Bill would have had sex in Steffy's own bed had Taylor not walked in on them and threw him out. Not to mention, she actually bought Jackie's condo just for her and a married Bill to have a lust nest. Plus, Steffy tried to have sex with Hope's then boyfriend Oliver..heck, she even told Oliver "you can pretend I'm Hope". Definitely not from lack of trying on Steffy's trashy part. Of course, Liam played his stupid part cuz he was weak and took Steffy's cha cha bait.

And if you are referring Hope "being undressed" in the dressing room after her fashion show that Liam saw her..no, she didn't initiate kissing him at all. That was all initiated by Liam. And Steffy was shown in recent time initiated that staged kiss in which she admitted wrong that she joined her brother's manipulation.

B-Hold Agreed. Hope is a liar. But her lies get glossed over or justified by Brooke and Liam, himself. Therefore, she becomes victimized at every point. Steffy gets blamed (Hope blames Steffy) or Hope, Liam and Brooke blame Thomas for Hope lying. Someone else is always to blame; Hope is always the victim. And sometimes her lies are portrayed by Bell as so subtle that we tend to doubt that she lied or that she was justified to lie. And Brooke is always there to clean up the messes and Liam is always there to make sure she is forgiven.

Tahemet - And doing so have give a speech to Wyatt about how they (cough cough) don;t share the same morals/values and than she couldn't (cough cough) be with someone who doesn't have the same ones she has. Hope marrying Wyatt was done out of a childish hissy fit to punish Liam for being late. That's why she immediately started running to Liam and cheating on her hsuabnd.

@lovelyrita - Hope is a LIAR and the fact that Bell never calls Hope out on it or that Liam never seems to find out or realize this is part of what bothers many about LOPE. And when she is found out she some how is the victim. I.E - Thomas made her shove him to his death. GMAB.

Come between them?All it takes is for Liam or Hope to go looking for the other to talk before throwing themselves at otehrs. Instead, they immediatly turn to someone else, give up on each other in a heartbeat, don't even bother making the very least effort to try to make it work, showing how shallow and fake their feelings actually are.

Im not because its always writren that others make choices for him and he just goes along with it. For years steffy was blamed even though liam was unhapoy in his relationship and would tell steffy and bill bit never his true love. Later it became liam in a relationship wirh someone and hope and brooke reminding himbthat his true wants and desfiny was hope so hed cheat with hope, he did it both to steffy and ivy the kissing of hope.

However, the most interesring aspect is the hate that is directed at steffy for going after taken men even though shes supposed to be the bad girl she never had sex with any of the married men she chased. Bill and steffy had ample opportunities in th cliff house and forrester guest house but never gave into that moment. Liam openly declared his love for steffy while married to both his true love and ivy and neither time did steffy get caught up in any moments. Steffy has never offered a maaried, engaged, or living with someone a romp in her bed but shes accused of using sex to ger him. Yet, hope who has offered or actually had sex with liam every time he has been living with someone, engaged, or married is still called the moral. It took steffy about 12 years to betray her own and bills marriage vows. Steffy hasnt initiated anything with liam for years but its interesting that the good girl has intiated kisses and made sure he sees her in various modes of being undressed and is still called the good one.

Biggest problem with lope is that they always draw others into their crap instead of just deciding to stay and work through their issues or end things and move on. They really just need to stay together because theyve never beenb truly happy together and i really enjoy that.

If that was true, Liam wouldn't have cheated on Hope to begin with,or come back from his honeymoon to tell Steffy he loves her and ask her why she told him to marry Hope.Or Liam would have gone to Milan to try to fight for Hope. Or Liam would have ran to Hope and done whatever it takes to end his marriage to Steffy the minute he found out about STILL's ons....
