What bothers me about Liam & Hope?
I don't think I can tell all that bothers me in one space but here goes...

Liam & Hope
Chemistry
Not that they don't have chemistry they are both good looking actors. It's just no passion. I don't feel the lust, want or desire.Looking for some sexy excitement and together they fall flat IMO. They aren't fun. They're just cute.

Naive
They are way too naive for their age. They have been manipulated for years and they couldn't buy a clue if you handed them a $Bill.

Conversation
Always is about nothing but everyone always talking about them. Liam constantly wants to protect Hope who doesn't have a clue and is weak minded like some child. They have a child now and need to wise up. The maturity level of these two conversation wise my 4 year old can do better.

Liam
Constantly mistaking Love for saving someone. He loves Hope because she is the good girl which is noble. But everyone saw that passionate kiss he gave Steffy the day Hope saw it too. The kids are going to go through the same thing Brooke put Steffy and Thomas through which obviously is Hell. I have a hard time looking at Liam as a man when he never stops to think about how unstable he is making the mother of his children.

Hope
I think when she came back to town and found out what Steffy did she decided to get Steffy back for the whole gondola incident 50 years ago. She figured Steffy isn't good enough as usual and instead of supporting their marriage she did the follow my heart thing that her mother has always done. Speaking of her mother she coaches her daughter in everything that has to do with her marriage. Brooke might as well be married to Liam.

I’m shocked at the amount of Liam defenders in these comments...

I’m not. That’s the magic of the character Liam Spencer as created by Bradley Bell and played by the brilliant Scott Clifton.

Liam is Brad’s crowning achievement for this soap opera. He finally created his own character that outshone any previous character and has kept this show going in an era where soaps are hanging on by a thread.

Then there is the perfect casting, Scott, as iconic of a casting as Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With The Wind.

Someday the legend of the creation of Liam Spencer and the God-sent Scott Clifton to play this once-in-a-lifetime role, will be in the history archives of Hollywood greatness.

Brad Bell saw something in SC that all the other guys in the auditions lacked. I doubt anyone else could have gone this far with the character even though he is an awesome character.

Bell saw an actor that could fill a role that Bell had created. Beyond that, we have no idea what Bell saw, thought or anything. Again, no disrespect to the actor, but there is a vast difference between a soap opera and an iconic movie like Gone With The Wind. And honestly, in the soap world, there is no "once in a lifetime role". As a matter of fact Bell told SC that he had one job, "Love the one you're with." That is not an iconic or once in a lifetime role, imo. Liam is a character on a soap, nothing more.

It’s probably because most think Liam is too much of an doofus moron and he really stumbles through life a blessed idiot who benefits from characters being dumbed down so much just to make him look good. No way would Steffy or even Hope put up with this loser. Even if they did before they wouldn’t after the lived in Europe for an extended time.

I wish SC could go back to General Hospital and Dillon again. Liam is an embarrassment to play for a grown man.

I can fully understand why Hope would have trouble trusting Liam because he has given her every reason not to trust him.

1. He is engaged to be married to Hope and is then caught making out in the car with Steffy. This doesn't scream of Liam being trustworthy or faithful.
2. He married Ste ffyshortly after the misunderstanding with Hope knowing that he was in the car while engaged to Hope making out with Steffy. Instead of finding Hope and begging for her forgiveness knowing what he had done considering for a moment she may have seen him he married Steffy. Doe sn't seem too committed.
3. Liam knowing how Hope felt about growing up in the shadow of her mom's scandals and her stance on sex before marriage he slept with Hope while awaiting his divorce from Steffy to be finalized. He should have considered Hope's feelings, not slept with her, and respected how he knew she had felt. If he loved her he would have waited. We know what part of his anatomy he was thinking with...not his brain.
4. The night before Hope and Liam are to marry he stays out all night drinking with his ex wife Steffy coming in the next morning( his wedding day) looking like he'll with a bang over.
5. The day of his wedding to Hope who is late because she is delayed by her father working with Bill Liam is caught in camera on the bed with Steffy about to have sex.

Because of these and several other reasons I can understand why Hope would not believe or trust Liam. Trust has to be earned and he has not done that. He has proven himself to not be trustworthy. I

Hope is not immature or lost in a fantasy anymore than Steffy is, because he has done the same to her over and over again.

Hope is not the damsel in distress needing Liam to rescue her. She loves him and wants to believe in him, but he just keeps proving he can not be trusted.

Hope has shown her strength many times dealing with issues that others haven't. She was only a teenager when she overheard the circumstances of her conception and how she was a "stain"on the family causing her to question her own worth.

She was drugged and nearly raped.

She was ridiculed and taunted by Steffy simply because she didn't believe in sex before marriage which I believe is something that even a character should be commended for.

She suffered for nearly a year thinking her baby had died.

I think Hope has shown incredible strength and depth, but as did Steffy trusted her heart to the wrong man.

Bill824 Ita. Lope is toxic and they have infected Steffy to the point of no return unless she stands up for her bro with Ridge and Eric.

Lope didn’t infect Steffy. She did that to herself when she aggressively inserted herself between Lope.

She kept showing up at Liam’s house, kissing him and offering herself as the better. Then she got hurt because Liam started treating her like an option but not as his main focus.

Ten years later, she’s still waiting to be useful as his option with his first child and his poster in her home.

Lol, infected Steffy? Nope. Steffy should have left Lope alone years ago! Let’s not forget that Steffy was the one who inserted herself into an established relationship to begin with. Steffy got what she deserved. IMO.

A lot has happened since then and finally Steffy "chose herself."
That's what I was referring to.
She claimed to be doing that but did not remove herself from that which ensued.. with Lope getting remarried and splitting up as yet again when they lost Beth. She continued to be there for Liam to park his butt there and involve her in his/their day to day angst as well as Hope hanging there and insisting Steffy be involved in what she wanted.. being her bridesmaid & allowing Liam to stay there to name just 2.
I fault Steffy for her own actions.. especially blaming it on Thomas.. finally the kiss she planted on Liam and teaming with Lope vs her brother. I've bashed her numerous times for that, but again Lope was there at her house. So, it was pretty much mutual with Lope constantly over there but, yes she allowed it and participated in it, which is on her and yes, she deserves what she gets from it. Imo.

What she really should do is put her big girl panty on..take down that stupid portrait, tell Liam don't come over with all your personal problems, if you want to see Kelly, I'll bring her over to the cabin for visits etc. Move on with her life, go on dates have some fun.

Weird only steffy must be held to her word. When hope gives her your love isnt good enough or im too good for you speeches get ignored. No one ever has to pull her back in she openly chases on her own and shes still considered the victim. Whats even weirder is that hope has never been faithful to anyone in any relationship. It was hope who couldnt be trusted because she was juggling oliver and liam from the beginning. Only after this did the amber, steffy, ivy, wyatt, and thomas things occur.
