I loved the way they promoted the show with archived footage. The promo opened up with the voiceover from Dorian arguing with Viki about Victor Lord circa 1995 and Dorian says "All families have their secrets Viki...ours just happens to be a particularly dirty one"

It was so poignant and I got goosebumps when it came out because it so adequately captured the essence of the show. If you released all 45 years on DVD and made a promo for the DVD, I can't think of a better way to open it.

So I really liked how they tried to use history.

The whole PP experience was just awful. The change from TSJ’s character being a conman trying to steal Todd’s life to a dimwitted twin that Tea stayed with was the worst.

I'm pretty sure that storyline was under ABC and Ron/Frank

I only got to see a little bit of the PP episodes but I was fine with what I saw. I am not a prude or someone with a bug stuck up my ass so I am not going to have a problem with cursing. OLTL is probably my favorite soap of all time next to Passions, so I was just happy to get it back on the air in any capacity.

The best thing about the Prospect Park reboot was Clint getting drunk at the new nightclub, being kicked out and screaming, "BUT I WANT TO DANCE!"

I actually did like the direction that AMC took. Which is probably in-part because they had some of their stronger cast members involved and Anges was very heavily involved. OLTL on the other hand? Well... I loved having Queen Vicki back. I actually enjoyed Natalie and Cutter (which shocked me because I was NEVER a Natalie fan and Cutter was just meh). Dorian was fabulous but they had no idea where they were going with her it was very obvious. I very much hated the younger crowed. It flowed very well on AMC. It was pitiful on OLTL. Even though he was a legacy character that we saw grow up before us I don't think that Matthew had enough of a personality to be a lead character. Dani is and was never a fan favorite character. I loved the original Destiny but this new Destiny who of course was lighter skinned and thinner lacked what made the original fun (and I blame the writers and producers over the actress, she was just acting what was given to her). The propping of Corbin Blue's character was pointless. He was not Matthew's roommate in England. He was given too much screen time in comparison to who viewers actually wanted to see (let's not act like either show gained new viewers and their logic to focus on the younger crowed worked). Jack's SL was just weird... He interacted with hardly anyone other than David and that teacher. He had no friends. He was hardly around his family.

I did like the concept of an aging woman being explored with Blair. We often see female characters on soaps pause at aging after 40-50 years old (Erica Kane was 40 for 20 years with two thirty plus year old daughters...) and while they are allowed love internists it is usually with a leading man who was allowed to age naturally. Then that was dropped practically right away for TnB. Which the TnB fan in me was fine with but the fact that it didn't last long and I doubt that we would have seen a Wally Kurth situation on these two shows with how the two networks were treating each other. I really don't understand the point of bringing back Victor Jr for a brief moment.

Bo and Nora's SL was pitiful... Bo the police commissioner and brilliant lawyer Nora just decide they are bored with life and start a podcast... Um... Ok...

There was also way too much disconnect between the characters and plots. They don't all have to share a plot but it was like watching four different shows at once where no one was referencing anyone else.

I truly believe that RC/ FV plotted out and potentially even scripted several episodes (OLTL was still "saved" the first time around for a longer period than AMC if we all remember). I think the new writers were trying too hard to be what RC/ FV had been and I think A LOT of fans were more interested in a return to more serious stories than what RC had given... You had a rep theatre style group of vets in ES and RS with some great actors in JVH, TC, RW, HbS, RoHo, etc...

I liked the PP show as well. I would have liked to know what was behind Clint's behavior as well as those tattoos. Liked that Natalie never turned on him with his change in personality. Loved Natalie's storyline. I did not like Victoria misrepresenting what was suppose to be a private conversation between her and Dorion.

I love Dani and Arturo as well. I can believe Dani having father issues and having a Sugar Daddy. I would have loved to see that storyline play itself out.

Dani and Arturo were enough to make one bleach their eyeballs. lt had nothing to do with her daddy issues. lt was about porno sex, so people who enjoy that could enjoy it. Jack and the teacher, same.
We had TSJ back, and how well did that turn out. Not! There was the great scene with Tia, they are consenting adults, so no problem, but that was the end of it.
l would have liked to see the whole cult mystery story, whatever the heck it was, play out, but mostly, the whole thing was just painful. Kept hoping it would get better, it just got worse.
Great reference point, just look at the Bo/Nora storyline, if you want to know how good it was overall.

I must have blocked this out, lol, I do not remember the Dani/Arturo storyline at all lol. I do remember Jack and the teacher though.
They had some great cast members return for this, its a shame it didnt work out

I can't recall the Dani/Arturo s/l......was that when she OD and Victor saved her?

I watched it all. It was ok.
My overall feeling is that the producers didn't know what they were doing and were unprepared for the work that goes into producing a soap opera. That's why it didn't continue despite their ratings being far better than they had expected.
I resent PP for leaving the series with rather a weak ending compared to the stronger ABC finale.
I hope One Life gets another shot at a continuation someday. I think the possibility of online only show is more viable now than ever, they just need better people involved with the production and writing.

Had potential. They turned off that stupid stock music that they play nonstop on soap operas these days. The actors actually had a chance to do something cool.

Main thing for me is they didn't do a good job of making it feel like they were living in an actual community. The sets lacked extras and certain sound effects.

Story-wise, I thought they had some interesting stuff until the ending with the ridiculous Allison character involved.

It was a bit vulgar to me. They could use foul language on it so they did even though it wasn't necessary and added nothing to the sl. The sl cheapened some of the characters (of course it was a soap so you expect people to cross the line but it was too much). People must have complained enough because they seemed to be cleaning it up some before it ended. After watching Beau Buchanan be a nice guy for years, I didn't like his trash mouth.

I don't recall Bo Buchanan having a trash mouth on PP......I also hear worse language at the grocery store than anything I heard on OLTL (either version) ......js

Agree. And I liked the OLTL PP show better than the AMC version, but I watched every single episode of both.

It was hit and miss. There were certain things I didn't like about it. The background music sucked pretty bad. OLTL on ABC always had a great music department. Hands down the best in the business. I guess they didn't bring any of those people over to PP because it was completely forgettable and dull.

The same can be said about some of the sets. They were pretty lackluster.

I liked how they allowed characters to curse but they went overboard with it.
