    Emmerdale 2023

I just signed up for Brit box and tried Emmerdale. I'm especially enjoying the episode where Amelia has a stalker due to her Instagram account where she is an influencer about makeup and Lloyd comes to her salon and says he's the person sending her money, which is using for her father. She is crying and scared and telling him that she thought he was a girl, and he doesn't seem to want to give up getting to know her better or to give her advice about how 'she's grown.'

I'm not able to get the newest episodes, but am up to July now.

If you are watching and would like to discuss, please join. I think this will be a new regular for me.

Is anybody else watching? That was such a shocker and sad story when Dan was sentenced to 8 years and Amelia was weaping and reaching out to him.

What bothered me even more is that no one seemed to have an issue with the predator who was grooming Amelia, and even his wife was mouthing off to her. I know that the actor wanted to leave the show, but to me, it vicimized Amelia and made the predator look like a philanthrop.

My heart is breaking for Lydie right now. Why did she shower and burn the cloths, all the evidence. I wish that she went straight to the police that day, but I think that it is very realistic that a woman who experiences acquaintance rape doubts her self and the signals that she might have sent. However, rape is still rape. I really feel for her and wish that she had an advocate.

My heart is breaking for Lydia, too, and she knows it was rape. She is broken. I wish she would tell Kim - Kim would help her. I’m convinced this isn’t the first time that creep has done this to a woman. He seemed a bit too glib about what he would say to put a different light on what happened (I could barely watch those scenes, so may not be characterizing what he said correctly). Lydia, tell Kim, if you won’t tell your family!

I have a feeling that Samson won’t believe her because he idolizes that monster.

Emmerdale is one of my absolute faves. Each night after work while I'm having dinner, my brother and I watch Emmerdale, East Enders, and Coronation Street on the nights it's on. BritBox is probably my favorite streaming service. What's going on right now with Lydia is absolutely awful. She's such and kind and sweet character. I've read a couple of spoilers that don't name characters and I'm guessing things are going to get harder before they get better. I have no doubt though, that Sam is going to love her through this and stand by her.

I am finally caught up with the show and am so glad that Sam is with Lydia and on her side. I wanted to knock Samson and Mandy around a little, but am so glad they came around. Craig is a monster. Although Lydia might have destroyed the evidence, I hope that other women come forward about Craig. He's a monster, completely psychotic.

I can't think of her name, but that girl who is trying to trick Samson into getting her pregnant as a potential cure for her PPD needs some help! I really understand how horrible the PPD must be for her, but she hasn't even tried the medication yet. She just rejected it, based on social media.

And I say this as someone who grew up with another debilitating female problem, endometriosis, which people thought was mental and those with the agonizing pain were drama queens, when there really wasn't anything that could be done for it. I really feel for her, but at least try what the doctors are offering before going the TikTok route.

I feel like people are making decisions for her and not listening to her, whereas they could approach her in a way to build trust and to make decisions together. Right now she is desparate for help.

                You mean Cathy, right?

The problem is that Cathy won’t listen to anyone. I don’t know how they can build trust with her when she won’t even hear her best friend tell her that she is making huge mistakes. I feel bad for all of them, because it seems they are in a horrible cycle they can’t break out of. Any suggestions how to get everyone to hear each other?

Another horrible day for Lydia. I don’t think Lydia was right to blame her family for trying to protect her. Craig is a nightmare - is it best to ignore a nightmare and let him control the narrative, or try to take the narrative back?

These are two very complicated storylines that seem beyond my ability to figure out how to help make things better for those involved. There are so many complicated stories right now, but Lydia’s is the one breaking my heart the most.

Lydia's story continues to break my heart. She is portrayed so well.

I have SVU on my mind and wonder what Olivia would do. She would have her staff investigate his previous girlfriends, with the belief that no one rapes just once. She'd have them talk to former gfs, former colleagues, until they found others who would be brave enough to come forward.

I was wishing that Lydie could get a restraining order, but I suppose Craig could request the same at work. He's an animal and I want to see him go down.

OMG, was that Craig in the field at the end of the episode today? The montage of characters made me think of Murder on the Orient Express. Did they all do it? I couldn’t tell if it was Craig or not - could anyone else? Lydia will not be happy.

It was and the ending was totally Orient Express. I just love it.

I think that what Lydia will realize is that she still feels awful with him dead, just like the advice she received, and she has to work through it in therapy. She'll also never hear him apologize, although I don't think he ever would. It was a crazy ending, one that I didn't expect.

Now here is my wish - no rumor, no spoiler. I didn't even see hints of this anywhere else. It's just my personal wish.

I'd love it to turn out that he did this to another woman and she's the one who killed him, maybe in self defence, and the Dingle family and friends just found him, although the police will probably believe it's them for awhile.

I agree with you and wonder if Craig's secretary did it, she did look guilty and quit her job.

I don’t understand. Who killed Craig? I don’t think it was Kim or Cain. They are too obvious (although I would have said Kim before today).

(I’m not happy with Tracy and Caleb hooking up out of the blue. What is that all about? Yuck.)

Kim threw her horse under the bus? What? Kim, who does that?

I’m interested in this admin assistant theory - what is her name? She seems a possibility.

I’m very confused by what is going on with all these possible leads, as you can tell!

I'm about a week behind, but all I can say is Jacob and Vic literally make me want to vomit. Such a gross coupling. We never saw any growing attraction between the two, so it feels like a total stunt for shock value. So much of the show is like that right now and I'm not liking it.

I couldn’t believe the writers went the Vic and Jacob route. Just repulsive. I FF those two.

I couldn't figure out what's going on with Emmerdale, why the show has gotten so terrible lately, and then noticed that Jane Hudson is no longer executive producer. Since then it's gone from must-see to WTH. There's not a single good storyline right now. From the whodunit that ends with a horse, to Aaron's awful return, Caleb and Tracy's sudden attraction that makes zero sense, and of course Jacob and Vic. I saw this happen several years ago when the executive producer of Eastenders left, and in my opinion it has never recovered. Hopefully this is just a short-term glitch that they can fix. In the meantime, and I never thought I'd ever do this, but I don't think I can watch anymore.

I just started watching and was hooked pretty quickly with the story about the father who socked the guy who was stalking his daughter on social media, who subsequently fell and hit his head. I liked the relationship that Mandy and the girl had (I'm bad with names). He ultimately went to prison. I was pretty upset about that because I

And then the tale of Lydia was riveting. The culmination was pretty ridiculous, though. Well deserved, but ridiculous.

I really couldn't stand the story of the kidnapped mother and the guy in the trunk. That guy is bad news.

The story of the girl with PPD was interesting to me, but it just fizzled after her sister spoke up.

I am having fun with the Chloe Charity Mac story.

I am still interested in the show, but the earlier stories that hooked me in, just a few months ago, seemed more riveting, especially Lydia's tale.

I don't know when the EP changed, but i suspect that I am seeing the newer stories. I suppose I don't have a good point of comparison, but I'm still having fun. It must have been amazing before.
