I have always wondered why Jonathan kept his name Randall?

His stepfather abused him so why keep his last name? I would have thought either Shayne (after his mother Reva) or Winslow (after his father Richard Winslow). Jonathan Shayne or Jonathan Winslow.

I would have preferred Winslow. I don't remember ever getting an explanation of his name being Randall, other than that was the name he was given after his placement with the Randalls, Olivia's sister and her husband.

Well, Cassie never changed her name to Shayne...it remained Layne until she married Richard Winslow....and Ava never changed her last name to O'Neill or Spencer...fortunately she wasn't around long enough for that, haha....and Hart didn't take on Roger's last name even after he learned Roger was his father....he stayed Jessup...his mother's last name

Many characters did, though, take on the biological parent's name after finding out their heritage....Dinah Morgan became Dinah Marler....Dylan became Dylan Lewis....

Maybe he kept the name he was given as a reminder of where he came from.
