How did Ben meet his daughter's mom?

I recall the mom had substance issues,and was also a sex worker. But were she and Ben high school or college sweethearts at one time? I think she gave up her daughter for adoption, and she was raised by a wealthy family. The mom was either engaged or briefly married to Buzz. I forgot their names.

Drew Jacobs was introduced into the 'teen scene' along with Jessie Blue, who received Maureen Bauer's heart, and Michelle and Danny Santos (who was not a teen, but grouped in with the rest of them. Selena Davis was introduced in jail with Abby Bloom Bauer...they both were released and because Selena had helped Abby in prison, Abby helped her get a job at Buzz's diner....as Selena's story unfolded, we learned she had gotten pregnant while working as a prostitute and given birth to a daughter. Selena revealed, eventually, that Ben Warren, Ross's half-brother, was the father - he had been taken to Selena as a 'joke' to lose his virginity and she had taken pity on him and followed through and gotten pregnant. Ben learned that Drew was his daughter shortly before his death.

Thanks, I thought they were HS or college friends. I recall Drew was developing a bond with her newfound dad shortly before his demise. How did Selena aid Abby in prison?

Abby was a very naive girl from Amish country - she went to prison for killing someone (after he'd subtly threatened her life) and Selena protected Abby from violent prisoners.

That is what the eventual decision was - once it was proven that Roy Meechum had made a gesture to Abby indicating he planned to kill her.....but that was not the initial ruling....
