Just in Time for Fourth of July: Bauer Burger Recipe

This was posted in a FB group:

Bauer Burgers (Bauer Power!) as revealed by Michael O'Leary (Rick Bauer) in a long-ago issue of Soap Opera Digest:
    1. "Get two pounds of ground sirloin, then mix in some garlic, pepper, salt and three teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce."
    2. "Make a whole bunch of real thin hamburger patties."
    3. "Chop up some onion and put on top of the first patty. Then put a slice of American or mozzarella cheese on top. Then grill some mushrooms and put them on top of the cheese. Then cover the whole thing with another patty."
    4. "Using a fork, work the edges of the patties until they're sutured together as one patty. (Please note my use of the medical term 'suture'. Thank you.)"
    5. Barbecue the double patties over a low flame. That takes a little longer, but it's worth it. They're fabulous."

I still miss Guiding Light. Such a shame, even today.

You're not alone....thirteen years later and I'm still in denial....I so wish that Y&R would write a character for Kim Zimmer to pair her up with Robert Newman again and I'd have a little Josh and Reva back in my life.....

YESSSS!!! I thought about that the other day. but I think Ashland is spent on Y&R. Off topic, I know, but that might help matters.

I tried this yesterday. I turned it over too soon and the side I cooked first fell apart. Luckily, the remaining burger, with the toppings, cooked up fine. If you try it, be sure to cook it off heat, close the lid, and let it cook a LONG time!
