Lee Dawson (ex-Bea Reardon) has died at the age of 81

For those who watched GL back in the 1980's would remember Bea Reardon.

Lee Lawson (ex-Bea) passed away Sunday night at the age of 81.

This news come on the news of the recent passing of Jerry ver Dorn (ex-Ross), Lisa Brown's (ex-Nola) passing in November, and Michael Tylo's (ex-Quinton) passing last September.

More loss for the Guiding Light family.  Now comes word on Monday that Lee Lawson, who played Bea Reardon on the CBS daytime drama series from 1981-1990, passed away Sunday night in Los Angeles at 81-years-old. What makes this all the more heartbreaking is that Guiding Light and soap fans just recently mourned the loss […]

This sad. I loved Bea and her huge family, as dysfunctional as they were.

One of my favorite GL storylines ever centered around the Reardon family. This was way back in the mid 1980's and ended up with several of the Reardons traveling to Barbados in a murder mystery that also revolved around the Spaulding family. Back in the days when soaps had the money to actually travel!

Now I find out the actress playing the mother to this family was probably ten years older than the actors playing her children!

We have lost so many of these fine performers lately.

My condolences to her family and friends.

She was only 14 years older than Ellen Dolan (ex-Maureen). The weird thing is that Ellen's a couple of years older than Michael Woods (who played the oldest Reardon kids, Jimmy).

I loved Bea so much! She is the kind of soap character that has all but vanished. Sweet lady!

        RIP

I loved Bea....her companionship with Henry Chamberlain was so sweet....

Funny about the small age 'gap' (in real life) between Bea and Maureen....but then again Rick and Ed were only 14 years apart in age.....Phillip and Alan only 11 years apart, Frank and Buzz only 9 years apart....it happens. ;0)

Frank and Justin actually commented on that during the "Happy Hour with the Coopers" on The Locher Room.

Jerry passed away on May 1 after a battle with cancer.
Lisa Brown passed away November 24 after a "quick battle with cancer" (according to her son Buddy, who played her son AJ on GL as an infant).
Michael Tylo passed away September 28.
