Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.

This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.

Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.

The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

Brad Pitt once auditioned for Alan Michael

I watched a ZOOM interview with Carl T Evans on a video named SoapsPast. He was the original teen AM. He mentioned befriending Brad during auditions.

I wonder if that was when he was cast on AW. Brad Pitt played "Boy Playing Basketball" one day & appeared with David Forsyth as John Hudson.

      I met the Alan-Michael (Rick
Hearst) at the Atlantis in Nassau
30 years ago. He was very polite
as we both were checking in at
      the same time.

Interesting but could not see him as AM. Rick H the best.

This was about the time he played 'Randy' on Dallas - he was a very young actor just starting out around the time A-M was aged.

Alan already had the 'dirty blonde' son though, and the dark haired A-M was a nice contrast to that. I think if I had to rank the actors who played A-M (from the time he was aged) in order of preference....it would be:

          1. Rick Hearst
          2. Carl Evans
          3. Michael Dempsey - had they not paired him with Marina he really could have been great in the part - the pairing with Ava was even worse....the writers really turned A-M into such an unlikable character at this point....
          4. Michael Dietz - my least favorite, he was just too 'smug' in the role.

That's an interesting tidbit. Imagine if one of those other "AM" hit it big and Brad Pitt ended up being a lifetime soap actor.
