Cameron has signed this deal..Does it mean Drew will be out? If Nina and Sonny break up only to put him back with CARLY I will d efinetly stop watching! It is bad enough they are getting rid of Roger and keeping characters like Cody around the show is g.oing, downhill.....

Well IDK about Cameron or Drew but I actually prefer keeping Cody over Austin .... The character of Austin never worked IMO .... It took some time but Cody actually grew on me as a character ... Now I like him and find myself interested in him.... That never happened with Austin .... I'd rather have Todd Manning back .... But that's just me ....
And GH can keep Sonny and Nina together .... Carly will be fine with or without Drew as long as she isn't stuck with Sonny again ....
But Cameron has always done other projects while being on soaps... I would guess he will continue doing it that way .... This will probably work just like it did with him doing Hallmark movies... -
Maybe not. He always does side jobs.
But - I have to say - it isn't fair to viewers to constantly have an actor constantly leaving to do other things, leaving the character in limbo - so - I prefer he leave to Drew constantly disappearing.
And RH was waisted - no need to keep Austin since the character wasn't well developed or well written. So - I am OK that they got rid of RH. Bringing him back as another character would have been too much.
And Cody - he has a lot of potential!
If CM leaves - it is because he wants to do other projects. He doesn't stick around enough for the writers to put in in good front burner stories.Comment

Agree. I would rather they recast Drew anyway. Maybe it is just me (and my Ryan Lavery PTSD), but CM never worked as Drew in my eyes, and I saw zero chemistry between him and Carly. I love that Carly has moved on from Sonny into a healthier relationship with a decent, non mob-related man...I just don't like this version of Drew. -

I am getting used to CM as Drew - and don't mind him as much probably because he does dissappear to shoot movies. But - hard to connect with any character who disappears on a regular basis. I even can't stand when Anna/Laura disappear for the actresses annual vacations.

Both RH and CM should have come on as new characters and probably would have been well received. Neither of them were anything like the previous portrayors. Franco the serial killer never should have been brought back. Drew had a complete personality change that in no way resembled the previous portrayor and didn't seem to know anything about the character's history.Comment

I had this exact thought about Drew when watching him say to Michael that they had to move forward with the takeover. The old Drew was never that dramatic. I love CM in his movies but not as Drew. I think if he came on as a new character, that would have worked! LW and CM are hot individuals but I don’t get chemistry from them together.Last edited by LittlePea; November 21, 2023, 09:50 AM.

That ship already sailed, but thinking about it I agree with you. RH would have worked well as a recast Drew IMHO (without the horrendous on again / off again Frankendrew accent...or the man bun, lol). But I seriously don't want him to come back as Drew now. Too much confusion and not fair to viewers.

twobit65, do you know if Alison Sweeney ex Sami Days has also moved over? I suspect that they CM/AS are more or less a package deal since they are co-stars in one of the network's murder mysteries movie franchise. -

I like CM as Drew. While I will always have a special place in my heart for DM's Drew. Drew needs to be on canvas, and CM and LW have great chemistry. Cody has wonderful potential, but the directors must tone down his antics. When he is playing straight-laced and compassionate, he shines. He is annoying when he is playing the over-the-top antics. I think the writers bring back RH as another character. He has previously said he has long-term plans to be on the GH canvas. I do wonder what the interworkings of GH were that resulted in them killing of Franco.Comment

I’d love for this version of Drew to go bye bye! Doesn’t add anything to the canvas. Maybe RH can play a nuDrew, if he has to return.

Cameron never captured the personality of
Drew. I’m so glad Austin is going bye. Dumb
idea to give the actor another role after Franco.
Cody needs a little umph but he could grow
on me. In the end after Nina is shown to be
the cause of Carly and Drew’s trouble she
will return to Sonny. Nina isn’t good for him
but Carly will bring the family together.Comment

I absolutely loved Billy Miller as Drew. But I’m enjoying CM in the role now. I think he’s doing a great job. I enjoy him with Michael and Willow as a sort of father figure. I think he looks good physically with Carly (not a Carly fan). And I love his Drew with Scout. It’s not unusual when a part is recast for the character to change somewhat. CM still portrays Drew’s good guy qualities with the same protectiveness Drew has always had. No two performers are exactly what same. I appreciate both actors.
I doubt CM is leaving GH. I like Cody. I will miss RH but unfortunately, Austin due to bad writing and lack of character development didn’t work.Comment
