So, let me get this straight. Trina believes that Stella is sick, but she's going to try to bring her to her mother's wedding? Was she planning on dragging Stella from her sick bed? That just seemed kind of ridiculous to me. It would have been more realistic if Trina wanted to drop by with pictures from the wedding or something like that.

So Trina is going to bring "sick" Stella to the wedding?

I agree. Stella was supposed to be sick. So we just leave a wedding that Trina really shouldn’t leave and drag a sick senior citizen to a wedding while everyone is calling for Trina to do a speech. Wow! It’s selfish and stupid all wrapped together in one neat package.

It was weird. She and Spencer were dancing and all of a sudden she was like "Aunt Stella should be here" and they just left. Sometimes I feel like the writers have actually made a game out of how to stop Sprina from having anything romantic occur.

Okay. Thank you LBD12 . I thought I missed a scene because I wasn't paying close attention.

Yes, that was a huge WTF.
"Aunt Stella, hey, maybe you have the stomach flu and have to run to the bathroom every hour, but you'd better come right down to the ballroom!"
"Aunt Stella, you have a horrendous cold or Covid, you're not dressed for a wedding, but run down and give the happy couple a hug so you can infect them!"
"Aunt Stella, you have recently recovered from a stroke and don't feel well, but your health doesn't matter when Curtis needs you!"

She looked at Curtis deduced he was missing his Stella and went to go see about her. I don't know why Sprina fans are upset. I suspect after Spencer's behavior with Dex Trina is likely cautious and frankly I get it. I don't have a problem with how the scene played out. I like Sprina but right now this is Curtis and Portias wedding

It is a plot point. I thought the scene was played well - Trina knews Stella would not miss this wedding unless she were dying, so since no one in the family seems bothered to check on Aunt Stella for themselves, Trina will do it, and she will learn the truth either there in the hotel room, or in the ballroom.

OLTLBoomer, my issue with your explanation is that Trina and Aunt Stella don’t have that kind of relationship. TJ and Aunt Stella have a long, loving relationship. I can absolutely see him sensing Curtis’ disappointment in Aunt Stella’s absence and deciding to check on her. TJ and Aunt Stella have it like that. But Trina and Aunt Stella have only really met since Portia and Curtis started dating and Stella has been out of town for a lot of that time. Yes, they know each other but it’s odd to me that out of all the guests, Trina would leave her mother’s wedding when it’s time to give the toasts to check on her new stepfather’s aunt.
Frankly, TJ’s great joy at the marriage of Portia and Curtis is also a little odd to me. Surely, TJ knows this is a bittersweet event for his mother.
The inter-connectedness of Shawn, Curtis, Tommy, Aunt Stella, Taggert, Jordan, TJ, Trina and Portia can make it seem like it’s one big family rather than a series of linked relationships.Last edited by clamcat; February 15, 2023, 11:40 AM.

At least, when Trina and Spencer went over to drag the presumed to be 'sick' Aunt Stella to the reception, they find her dressed and, ready to go to town (somewhere/anywhere), complete with jewelry, and hairdo.
After putting the squeeze on her, they won't have to wait on her to get out of her robe and pj's, do some quick primping, in order to drag her sick ass to the party. She's already dressed and ready to go...
It's like Old Auntie wasn't prepared to play her part, should her friends/family members come over to check on their old relative, who suddenly became 'sick', and, is also known to have her own health issues.Last edited by franron; February 15, 2023, 01:50 PM.
