Good soaps always seemed to have that one person who could be relied on for good advice, objective thinking and kindness. I only see broken or devious women on GH. It's getting tiresome. Actually, the kindest good person is Sasha who has had her issues but is basically a good person. She's just too young to fill the dignified matron role to which I am referring.

I think it’s Laura . I know she will overlook certain things but I think imostly she is weighing things out for what she thinks will help the most people. She can be judgmental but there is usually her softer nature along with it .Last edited by Emerald Greens; January 31, 2023, 08:47 AM.-
I would almost agree about Laura but she knew Jake Doe's real identity and kept quiet for Liz. For whatever reason it still bothers me. I guess because she has always been one of my favorite characters ever since she married Scotty when they were younger. -
Well I like Lisel and Scotty. But it’s the way of every character. Fans want to praise Lila but she accepted Edward. Every character accepts characters we take issue with. Monica wasn’t above it either.

Well, you are asking her to pay for it for the rest of her life if you feel that she can't be a matriarch. A matriarch does not have to be perfect. Felicia is a good person, and that was a long time ago. She didn't kill anyone. Surely, she's been redeemed by now. Even Maxie has forgiven her. However, Felicia never "abandoned" her children.

I definitely think of Laura as the matriarch and she's unfortunately shown way too little and is more of a reactionary character whereas the great Genie Francis should be leading her own adventurous stories.Comment

It’s definitely Laura. she comes the closest. She is the mayor , a beloved vet who can be tough and firm, but also gentle and loving. Plus the whole town respects her.

Right now, Mayor Laura is helping to hide out a fugitive. And, looks the other way concerning her good friend, local mobster kingpin, Sonny. Just to agree with those who call Laura the matriarch I think I called her that after some scenes this past year. Now no matriarch has been perfect and some are too accepting of certain bad people (IMO)Comment
