The Joss/Cam breakup[merged]

I feel sorry for anyone who gets their heart broken when a relationship ends. It happens especially when you're young. I've never been a Joss fan but I never disliked her either. I totally understood how she felt - and I've been in Cam's shoes, too. I also understand her attraction to Dex, I would have been more upset if she had stayed with Cam because she felt sorry for him. I agree with a poster who said their "falling apart" started with the sex tape. It wasn't Cam's fault - it just happened. I'm interested now in how her situation with Dex progresses - lots of potential drama there if the writing is good.

Some characters really annoy me but if I 'hated' them I wouldn't watch - so I take them with a grain of salt. I'm more upset with how stories are written sometimes - like the hook sl - but I'll go with it.

I agree - how does Dex figure into the break up?
Joss had already changed before she and Cam had sex the second time post video. She realized it the next day. I can't blame Joss if she does not mention Dex.

EHolland I agree. She was already into Dex before she said one word about the sex tape causing problems with her feelings for CM and she never told Cam she/they were growing apart.

The sex tape was released in March. Dex wasn't even on canvas until May and Joss didn't meet him until the end of July when she witnessed Dex beating the writer guy. I don't think she was thinking that much about him until he helped her save Ava in August.

All of that was after Joss learned that Cam had been lying for Spencer for months. Joss had been mentioning something more being off with them the whole time Cam was keeping that secret. And they argued about when she found out.

Cam should be smart enough to realize that Joss broke up with him because of Dex. Joss is a complete hypocrite and she better stops whining about Sonny.

But at the time Joss realized her feelings changed, she was not as involved as she is now with Dex.
That is the time she should have talked with Cam. She was in limbo, and in her defense, Cam did not notice. I am not defending how long it took Joss to end it, but a relationship is two ways.
In the end, Joss knew and should have said something. The pain she felt for him was real. The loss of his presence is her life - as a friend - was real and painful. I do not see Joss as a hypocrite - I see her as human who has hurt someone badly.

I feel so bad for Cam and when he realizes that she dumped him for Dex (I don't care what she says) it's going to hurt him even more. I hope that he never, ever, ever gets involved with her again. Knowing Cam he will forgive her but please writers - nothing romantic.

I'm just waiting for Cam to get a new girlfriend. I didn't get into the Joss/Cam relationship because he always played second fiddle to Oscar and just got with Joss on the rebound. They were kind of boring, actually. So, I am looking forward to better things for Cam. I like the character tremendously. Maybe he and Esme will connect. They sort of did anyway. She never had anything bad to say about him, just the girls. He has a connection to Esme, as Heather was his
grandfather Jeff Webber's wife, and so Elizabeth Webber, the daughter of another wife, would be Esme's half-sister. That would make Esme Cameron's half aunt! Wouldn't it?

No, at most, they be step sisters, but ONLY if Heather & Jeff were still married when Esme was born.
Heather is Elizabeth's former mother in law. Elizabeth and Esme are not connected by blood. in any way. Esme was Franco's half-sister so IF he was still alive, they'd be sisters in law. There's no connection between Esme and Cameron.

I agree .... Joss never wanted to hurt Cam, which is why she kept putting off telling him that her feelings had changed .... But if you paid attention to Joss and her actions when she was with Cam over the last several months it was pretty obvious .... If Dex hadn't ever came along, Joss still wouldn't be IN LOVE with Cam .... I get where she was coming from 100% ... She put off the conversation too long but I understand why she did ... They will be friends again when Cam has had some time to deal with his feelings ....

Yes, she didn't want to add more pain by telling him the truth about Dex. The truth needed to come from her at some point but this is a soapp and therefore, Cam will learn about it from someone else.

Thank You cocophilly. You are so right. Joss is new at relationships - and so is Cam. This is part of growing up. I don't understand the "poor Cam/didn't deserve this, etc." Of course he's hurt but that really is a bit of young life relationships. He'll be fine - he's smart, strong and mentally healthy.

I agree Silkdog, her feelings may have changed but the Dex factor is upfront and center and no matter what she says when it comes out that she's involved with Dex. She didn't have to cheat on him considering how she feels about cheating. I believe that Cam will feel that she dumped him for Sonny's guy.

Exactly, just because Joss checked out of the relationship doesn't mean that Cam did. She still cheated. IMO, if Joss desperately wanted to break-up with Cam then she could've sent a text.

When you break up with a person you do not mention your new love interest, EVER. This was between TWO people with a long relationship.
We know Joss had moved on and should've told him sooner. But regardless you never drag a 3rd person into a break-up conversation.
Cam will know about Joss and Dex eventually. Let's hope they bring on a new young female for him. Things will move on.

Yes. She should have. I didn't argue otherwise. The best time to do the right thing is as soon as you know. The second best time is now. I only noted that telling Cam about Dex would only hurt him. Confession is often more helpful to the sinner than the victim.

Joss is breaking up with him either way. What is the point of telling him about Dex, her feelings or having slept with him? What does it matter now?

Jackaled Yes, he probably will. But telling him is rubbing his face in the fact that she is not only over her romantic feelings for him but also already moved on. That is too much and would likely divert the issue from where it should be, the change in Josslyn's feelings, and make it about Dex.

Hopefully, Cam has a moment to digest and process the end of his relationship before getting more hurtful information.

I've never been a fan of Josslyn or any of her romances. But it's really messed up that Cameron(who's being lied to/cheated on) also gets dumped by Josslyn. I Absolutely hate Josslyn and Dex. They are both disgusting and deserve one another. Cameron is the only person in this mess I have an ounce of sympathy for. Josslyn still is lying to Cameron about the fact that she just finished screwing Dex prior to coming to dump him. She still hasn't told him that she prior to sleeping with Dex, she was making out with him behind his back for months now. And she has some nerve to use the "we're growing apart" crap as the reason for the breakup. I really hope Cameron learns the full truth and never wants anything to do with her again. She truly is just like her mother. I will never get behind Josslyn and Dex as a couple. No matter how much the writers force them. They are both truly sleazy.

carson288208 What I've learned about soap fans is that when they are shipping a pairing(Joss/Dex). They constantly make excuses for the character(s)/couples they are shipping. Those same people will turn around and hold character(s)/couples they don't like to a different standard.

Yup. I know Joss didn't want to cause more pain but it would've been better if he heard about her and Dex from Joss. You know he is going to hear it from someone else. And I am glad that he turned down "we can still be friends" angle.
